The New Orleans Saints have declared DL Brodrick Bunkley, OT Bryce Harris, TE Daniel Graham, LB David Hawthorne, WR Joe Morgan, LB Scott Shanle, DL Tyrunn Walker inactive for Week 8.

Footballguys view: Jimmy Graham is active and New Orleans Times-Picayune beat writer Mike Triplett doesn't think he would just be a decoy. If you've been waiting on him, you've got to start him.

Falcons | Daniel Graham worked out    Wed Jun 20, 05:17 PM

The Atlanta Falcons worked out free-agent TE Daniel Graham (Titans) Tuesday, June 19.

Footballguys view: Graham isn't the same player he used to be, but could give the Falcons veteran depth at the TE position behind Tony Gonzalez. He's more of a blocker than he is a receiving threat at this point of his career.

Titans | Plan to cut Daniel Graham    Tue Jun 12, 11:33 AM

The Tennessee Titans place to cut TE Daniel Graham, according to a league source.

Footballguys view: This opens up an even bigger role for Craig Stevens, who got a new contract and starter money this offseason. Jared Cook could see the field more in a potential breakout season. Watch out for rookie Taylor Thompson, who could be slow to come along because he is converting to tight end from defensive end. If he is ready during the season, he could have a chance to show his stuff. Thompson has been compared to Rob Gronkowski by some analysts.

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with free-agent TE Daniel Graham (Broncos) on a three-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Graham will be a great two-way TE who will benefit Chris Johnson and Matt Hasselbeck. Jared Cook's outlook is unchanged because he is the kind of tight end whose main contribution is receiving. He'll line up split out wide as often as he will in-line this season.

Steelers | Meet with Daniel Graham    Sat Jul 30, 02:07 PM

The Pittsburgh Steelers met with free-agent TE Daniel Graham (Broncos) Saturday, July 30.

Footballguys view: Graham is a great blocking TE with good athleticism and adequate hands as a downfield receiver. He would be a welcome addition to a team that uses their second TE a decent amount. Last year's #2 TE, Matt Spaeth, is now a Bear.

Footballguys view: The Rams have a very talented group of TEs already, but none are the blocker that Graham is. McDaniels could bring Graham to St. Louis to help improve the run blocking for the team.

The Seattle Seahawks may show interest in free-agent TE Daniel Graham (Broncos) once there is a new collective bargaining agreement, reports Mike Sando, of ESPN.com.

Broncos | Daniel Graham has no plans to retire    Fri Mar 4, 01:23 AM

Free-agent TE Daniel Graham (Broncos) said Thursday, March 3, that he has no plans to retire following his release from the Denver Broncos, reports The Associated Press. 'My body's telling me I have a good three, four more years left in me,' Graham said.

Footballguys view: Graham can still be one of the best blocking TEs in the league, and should easily find another home in the NFL. However, he's not much of a fantasy factor and should not be drafted - even as a reserve tight end.

Broncos | Daniel Graham released    Wed Mar 2, 04:23 PM

Denver Broncos TE Daniel Graham said that the Broncos have released him, reports Josina Anderson, of FOX31 in Denver.

Footballguys view: A little surprising the team would release the captain and Denver native Daniel Graham. His backup Richard Quinn is not a good player, and has failed to live up to the hype after being a second-round pick in 2009. We feel Denver is in the market for a tight end in the 2011 NFL Draft. Players like Kyle Rudolph (Notre Dame), D.J. Williams (Arkansas), or Luke Stocker (Tennessee) may be on their draft board.

Broncos | May look for Daniel Graham to renegotiate bonus    Mon Feb 21, 04:52 PM

The Denver Broncos may ask TE Daniel Graham to renegotiate his $1 million roster bonus in order to stay with the team, reports CBSSports.com.

Footballguys view: Graham is still one of the best blocking tight ends in the game, and it will be important in the power running offense to keep him around. He's a Colorado native and the two sides should be able to work something out.

Broncos | TE Branson could be used like Scheffler    Fri Aug 13, 07:54 PM

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer for Footballguys.com, reports the Denver Broncos may plan on using reserve TE Marquez Branson much in the same way they used Tony Scheffler. Branson has been having a good camp and might have the best hands on the team at the tight end position other than Daniel Graham.

Footballguys view: It's interesting to note because 2009 second-round pick Richard Quinn is thought to be the eventual replacement to Graham because of his blocking ability. The Broncos like what they've seen from Branson, but we don't think he'll do much fantasy wise in 2010.

Broncos | Trade TE Scheffler    Mon Apr 19, 02:45 PM

Mike Klis, from the Denver Post, reports Broncos tight end Tony Scheffler and a seventh-round draft pick have been traded to the Detroit Lions in a three-team trade that sends the Philadelphia Eagles' fifth-round draft choice to Denver and Detroit outside linebacker Ernie Sims, a former top 10 draft pick, to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Footballguys view: Not a surprise here as Tony Scheffler and head coach Josh McDaniels got along worse than coach and Brandon Marshall did. The Broncos unload him for a fifth-round pick, which is about all they were going to get out of the disgruntled tight end. Denver traded back into the second-round last year to select TE Richard Quinn out of North Carolina. He only had 12 career receptions in college, and now will have a bigger role behind starter Daniel Graham. Quinn was the second best blocking tight end in last year's draft class (behind Detroit's Brandon Pettigrew), but needs to prove he can be a reliable receiver for the Broncos.

Broncos | Players call meeting    Wed Nov 25, 11:04 AM

ESPN.com reports Denver Broncos FS Brian Dawkins called for a players-only meeting Tuesday, Nov. 24, and, although he would not elaborate on what was said during the meeting, teammates and coaches said the well-documented RB Knowshon Moreno-WR Brandon Marshall sideline spat was no longer an issue. 'We are on the same page,' TE Daniel Graham said. 'There were a lot of emotions out there. No one likes losing. Frustrations came out a little bit. This team will stick together. We are going to fight through this together.'

Footballguys view: This is what the Broncos need, but we're not sure it's going to make a difference. This team is in a freefall, and the Giants are a very tough opponent to face after a short week of preparation.

Broncos | Graham happy to be reunited with McDaniels    Thu Jul 16, 04:14 PM

Chris Gentilviso, from DenverBroncos.com, reports that after a two-season hiatus, McDaniels and Graham have joined colors once again, hoping to bring the same rewards they experienced in New England to Denver. For Graham, the arrival of McDaniels injected a boost of life into his offseason. "It's good just reuniting, getting back in this offense," he said. "It's been a lot of fun since he's back here."

Footballguys view: Graham, along with Jabar Gaffney and Chad Jackson, has been like a coach on the field because he knows the McDaniels offense so well. There are a lot of moving parts to this system and Graham has an advantage over guys like Tony Scheffler and Richard Quinn. The Broncos could be somewhat pass happy, either by design or by necessity, in 2009 but Graham will still be relied on as the team's best blocking tight end.
