Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin is the best fit to reprise the Larry Fitzgerald role and play the slot position in head coach Bruce Arians' new offense in Tampa, according to PewterReport.com.
Footballguys view: This is great news for Godwin, so keep an eye on his usage during the offseason workouts under Arians. Fitzgerald had three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons working from the slot in Arians offense. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin's targets rose from 55 his rookie year to 95 in 2018, and he finished third on the team in snaps played among receivers. Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com believes the trend will continue in 2019, and Godwin could be headed for his first 1,000-yard campaign.
Footballguys view: We think Godwin's role continues to grow as well. The Buccaneers are likely to part ways with DeSean Jackson and that just opens more things up for Godwin opposite of Mike Evans. In 2018, Godwin finished as the no.25 receiver for Fantasy GMs in standard scoring leagues. He's got solid WR2 ability provided that he stays healthy and continues to improve. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin was targeted three times during the Week 15 game against the Baltimore Ravens but finished the game with zero receptions.
Footballguys view: Godwin has disappeared the last two weeks even though DeSean Jackson has been out. He'll be the #2 receiver next year, but isn't looking great in his audition for that job. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin had just one catch for 13 yards on 10 targets in Week 14 against the New Orleans Saints.
Footballguys view: Godwin got the targets, but it yielded almost nothing for fantasy lineups. He's on the fringe of WR3/Flex options at Baltimore next week. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin registered five receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown on six targets in Week 13 against the Carolina Panthers.
Footballguys view: Godwin was huge in place of Desean Jackson and had a good day against the Panthers secondary. He should avoid Marshon Lattimore next week at least some of the time and be worth a WR3/Flex start. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (ankle) is expected to play in Week 11's game against the New York Giants.
Footballguys view: Godwin is a low ceiling play and now with a low floor due to this ankle issue. The Giants matchup is a good one, so break ties in favor of Godwin unless we hear something concerning this morning. |

Tampa Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (ankle) was absent from practice for a second straight day Thursday, Nov. 15.
Footballguys view: Right now Godwin is questionable at best. He's not a veteran who can be relied on with minimal practice time, so we must assume that his injury is not trivial. If he can't go, Adam Humphries and OJ Howard become better plays. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin registered two receptions for 40 yards on three targets in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers.
Footballguys view: Godwin was consistent with Ryan Fitzpatrick earlier this year but took a backseat to Adam Humphries in this one. He's just bench depth until he warms up again heading into a matchup with Washington. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin caught two passes for 22 yards against the Chicago Bears in Week 4.
Footballguys view: Godwin like the most of the Bucs pass offense had a really rough day at Chicago. He's just depth until we see how he riffs with Jameis Winston and how the Bucs pass offense looks after the bye, although the Falcons defense is an enticing matchup. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin caught three passes for 41 yards and one touchdown against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1.
Footballguys view: Godwin had a great contested ball score on a catch at the front corner of the end zone. He looks like good depth, but wasn't able to have a big game even though his team scored 48 points. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WRs DeSean Jackson and Chris Godwin are listed as co-starters opposite WR Mike Evans on the Buccaneers' initial depth chart.
Footballguys view: Godwin has been seen as a rising star by Fantasy GMs based on what he did last year as a rookie when Jackson was banged up. Jackson has put together a strong preseason and he needs to bounce back after a disappointing 2017 (his first season with the Buccaneers). We like Godwin as a 'what the heck' flex in deep leagues and Jackson around the same area (WR5 or so) in Week 1 against the Saints. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin caught two passes for 11 yards and a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans in the preseason Saturday, Aug. 18.
Footballguys view: Godwin is going to be a starter, but the Bucs have six viable targets in the passing game. He has the talent to break out this year, but he might not have the opportunity. |
Chris Godwin player page

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin is expected to start opposite of WR Mike Evans.
Footballguys view: Godwin is becoming a fantasy darling because of his skill set and the opportunity to be a sleeper in 2018. He is viewed as a more complete receiver than WR DeSean Jackson, and he has the size to block for the run game. He's currently not getting drafted in 12-team PPR leagues. That will change if/when Godwin impresses as the starter opposite of Evans in the preseason. |
Chris Godwin player page

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin has been excellent in training camp, according to Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com, and Smith believes Godwin's play could force the coaching staff to find 'new ways to increase his snap total.'
Footballguys view: Godwin is making DeSean Jackson unworthy of a draft pick in typical fantasy leagues, and he might even start to cut into Mike Evans' ceiling. He should be on your late round target list. |
Chris Godwin player page

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin experienced stamina and breathing issues for much of last year due to problems with his mouth guard. Those issues have since been corrected and Godwin appears poised to have a breakthrough season in 2018, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jenna Laine.
Footballguys view: Earlier this year, Bucs OC Todd Monken said Godwin has earned the right to start. That's a great comment, but Godwin is currently third on the depth chart behind Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson. Currently, Godwin is going undrafted in 12-team PPR leagues so keep him on your waiver wire speed dial if you play in that format. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin has earned the opportunity to begin the regular season as a starter, according to offensive coordinator Todd Monken.
Footballguys view: That's a strong sign for the second-year player. A third-round pick out of Penn State last year, Godwin snared 34 catches for 525 yards and a touchdown as a rookie. We'll see how the Bucs mix him into action behind Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson. |
Chris Godwin player page

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin earned the right to have a bigger role in Tampa Bay's offense this year, according to general manager Jason Licht. Licht lauded Godwin as a smart, hard-working and unselfish player.
Footballguys view: Coming out of Penn State last year, Godwin needs to continue working on his route-running ability. He could move into the WR3 role for the Bucs behind Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson. |
Chris Godwin player page

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston completed 28 of his 51 passes for 363 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions in a 31-24 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 17, and he added five carries for 32 yards and a score. RB Peyton Barber rushed 17 times for 71 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 18 yards. WR Chris Godwin had seven catches for 111 yards and a touchdown, Adam Humphries caught seven passes for 102 yards, and WR Mike Evans finished with five catches for 55 yards. TE Cameron Brate caught three passes for 37 yards.
Footballguys view: Godwin's role should grow next year and Barber could play a big role with Dirk Koetter returning next year. The Bucs were disappointing this year, but the offense got stronger after Winston returned from his shoulder injury. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin managed three receptions for 98 yards on six targets in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers.
Footballguys view: Godwin had the long gain of the day for the Bucs on a 70-yard catch and run that includes one eluded tackle, although he couldn't outrun Luke Kuechly. The Bucs could save 3.5 million dollars by cutting Desean Jackson and making Godwin a starter next year, but they already committing 7.5 million whether he's on the roster or not. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin is expected to start in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers.
Footballguys view: Godwin is still a longshot this week with Cameron Brate and Adam Humphries carrying more existing chemistry with Jameis Winston. He's worth watching to gauge his dynasty prospects, which looked bright in the preseason. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin caught five passes for 68 yards against the New York Jets in Week 10.
Footballguys view: The rookie turned heads in training camp and he looked ready to be a future starter for the Bucs. His redraft value evaporates with Mike Evans return next week, but his dynasty value is growing and his future is bright. |
Chris Godwin player page

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin 'could step into a much larger role' in Week 10 against the New York Jets with Mike Evans serving a one-game suspension.
Footballguys view: Godwin, a third-round pick out of Penn State this year, is a young WR with strong 'my ball' mentality. He can go up and rip passes away from smaller defenders regularly. He's got build-up speed, but Godwin is not a sharp route runner at this time and he lacks the quickness to get a ton of separation. |
Chris Godwin player page

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin is having a great training camp, according to FS Chris Conte. 'You can tell he has good hands and body control,' Conte said. 'He runs great routes. He is going to be a great player for us and I think he has impressed everybody with what he has done so far in camp.'
Footballguys view: Godwin might not have redraft relevance this year unless DeSean Jackson or Mike Evans miss significant time, but all of this should be filed away in your dynasty file. Godwin might require a wait to reap the benefits, but all signs point to a bright future. |
