Footballguys view: Garoppolo had his best game as a pro in this one. He was maneuvering well in the pocket and finding the open receiver under pressure. The bottom line here might be to keep starting quarterbacks against Arizona (Jameis Winston next week), but Garoppolo now has momentum for the Monday night showdown with the Seahawks. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 14 of his 20 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs in the preseason Saturday, Aug. 24.
Footballguys view: Garoppolo was better this week to cap off a poor summer. He will have the benefit of facing the Bucs Week 1 and some DFS and deep league lineups should include him on the promise of that alone, but he isn't coming into the season with much in the way of momentum. |

Footballguys view: Garoppolo needs a good half to get the bad taste of his first game and practices out of our mouths. The 49ers offense won't be hurt by his return in any event, but it might not be helped much either. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) expects to participate in full workouts during right away, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.
Footballguys view: The 49ers as a whole are in make-or-break mode...or at least they're getting close to it in 2019. Head coach Kyle Shanahan needs to start winning as he has a 10-22 record with the 49ers over the last two years. That comes down to Garoppolo staying healthy for the first time in his career. He's played nine games for the 49ers in two seasons. Fantasy GMs are taking a chance on Garoppolo at QB18 (12.04) in 12-team PPR leagues. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) continues to participate in individual and seven-on-seven drills and appears as though he will be ready for the start of training camp, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner.
Footballguys view: Garoppolo made it three games in 2018 before going down with this knee injury. He has been limited in practice but is trending in the right direction. This seems like a make-or-break season for Garoppolo and the 49ers. He's got to stay healthy and play the franchise quarterback he was supposed to be when the team traded for him. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) won't be fully cleared for full-team drills until training camp, in part, because the team doesn't want to risk having defenders around his legs. Garoppolo has done work in 7-on-7 drills.
Footballguys view: It's good the 49ers are being cautious here. They need to get the Garoppolo-led team on the right track as head coach Kyle Shanahan enters his third year running the team. Garoppolo has a current ADP of QB16 (11.03) in 12-team PPR leagues. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee), coming off an ACL tear, should be cleared for full participation at the start of training camp, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Footballguys view: Garoppolo made it through only three games before being lost with an ACL injury in 2018. The team expects him to be ready for Week 1 of the 2019 season, but we expect them to ease him into action when training camp rolls around. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo is working to recover from the ACL tear that cut his 2018 season short, and his progress has impressed head coach Kyle Shanahan. 'He looks good, I'm not allowed to be working with him right now, but I was in the office a couple of days ago, I was stalking him while watching him out my window,' Shanahan said Friday, Feb. 1, during an interview with San Francisco radio station KNBR. 'He actually surprised me, he was running around, throwing, doing some stuff out of the pocket. I even had to call our trainer and ask 'should he be moving that much?' and he said he should be. It's cool to see.'

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) hopefully will be able to participate in organized team activities this offseason, according to general manager John Lynch.
Footballguys view: Garoppolo injured his ACL in Week 3 of the 2018 season. Lynch said Garoppolo has not had any setbacks during his rehab. Even if Garoppolo gets some work in during OTAs we'd imagine he'd be at least a little bit limited. There's no need to give him too much too soon as Garoppolo continues to rehab. It looks like he's going to be full strength by the time training camp rolls around in the summer. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) was throwing passes to RB Jerick McKinnon (knee) recently, 49ers general manager John Lynch said Tuesday, Jan. 22, in an interview.
Footballguys view: That's good news for Garoppolo and the 49ers. Head coach Kyle Shanahan believes Garoppolo could be available for OTAs later in the spring. Garoppolo tore his ACL in Week 3 and has been on the road to recovery ever since then. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) may be able to participate in some offseason workouts in May and June, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. "I'm hoping he'll get into OTAs and do some non-contact stuff," Shanahan said. "It's always a little bit better when you're dealing with a quarterback as opposed to other positions because you can get them in 7-on-7 drills, which helps those guys get involved a lot faster."
Footballguys view: Garoppolo injured his ACL early in the season (Week 3) and has been on the road to recovery since then. He should be limited in OTAs if he's able to participate with the plan to ramp things up in training camp. At this time, there's no concern about him missing the start of the 2019 regular season. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo's (knee) surgery went 'as good as it could've,' according to head coach Kyle Shanahan, and Shanahan is hopeful that Garoppolo can participate in OTAs in some capacity.
Footballguys view: That's cool and all but we'd recommend the team easing him back into action. Expect the 49ers to treat Garoppolo like the Eagles treated Carson Wentz this offseason -- slow and steady is the way to go. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.
Footballguys view: This was feared but also expected by the 49ers after the quarterback's injury on Sunday. There are reports that indicate he could have MCL damage as well but that is not confirmed. We'll see if Garoppolo is back for the start of the 2019 season. Right now, the 49ers will turn to C.J. Beathard as their starting quarterback. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) was carted off the field during the Week 3 game after he suffered knee injury.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 15-of-33 passes for 261 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the Week 1 loss against the Minnesota Vikings.
Footballguys view: Garoppolo had a pick six, but was also let down by an Alfred Morris goal line fumble and Marquise Goodwin's quad injury. He and Dante Pettis had something good going, and the matchup will get a lot better against the Lions next week. This result was more about the Vikings defense quality than Garoppolo being exposed. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo threw touchdowns on all four of his pass attempts from inside the 9-yard in 11-on-11 drills Tuesday, June 5.
Footballguys view: It would be fantastic if he can carry that over to the regular season in 2018. Fantasy owners are excited by what he could do in his first full season as a starter. He's getting selected as a top-10 fantasy quarterback (QB8) right now in 12-team PPR leagues. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo started holding weekend throwing sessions with his teammates, in which wide receivers, running backs and tight ends are invited. He held the first one with the 49ers on Saturday, April 21, with WR Pierre Garcon among those who showed up. 'It kind of gets us away from the coaches and everything, allows me to talk to the receivers about specific things,' Garoppolo said. 'Talking through routes, concepts -- how they see it vs. how I see it -- it just gets us on the same page.'
Footballguys view: The future looks bright for Garoppolo and the 49ers this year. With a full season as their starter, Garoppolo could get the team into the Wild Card conversation. |

Updating previous reports, San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo's deal will pay him $35 million in a signing bonus and roster bonus before the season. He can create $7.5 million in injury guarantees if he makes the AP All-NFL team in any year or he plays 50 percent of the snaps in the regular season, the 49ers make the NFC Championship game and he plays in 50 percent of the playoff snaps. Essentially, Garoppolo is signed for two years and $61 million and potentially three years and $86 million. The final two years could be a wash.

The San Francisco 49ers appear to be close to finalizing a long-term contract extension with QB Jimmy Garoppolo, according to multiple sources informed of the situation.
Footballguys view: Garoppolo should become one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the game, but because of timing, not track record. Still, the marriage between him and Kyle Shanahan should be a happy and productive one. He might go higher than he should in drafts on the momentum and recognition he generated in December. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 20-of-33 passes for 292 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 17 game against the Los Angeles Rams. RB Carlos Hyde rushed 15 times for 90 yards and two scores, while RB Matt Breida added 12 runs for 72 yards and a 32-yard catch. TE George Kittle led the way with 100 yards on four receptions, while WR Trent Taylor had two grabs for 29 yards. WR Marquise Goodwin (head) had two grabs, 28 yards and a touchdown before leaving with a injury. WR Aldrick Robinson also added a 12-yard score.
Footballguys view: Garoppolo should be a trendy pick next year after his strong finish. Hyde was as good as the 49ers offense allowed him to be in his contract year. Breida should have at least the same role next year, while fellow rookie Kittle should settle into a core role beside Goodwin and Pierre Garcon in a rising passing game. |
