Commanders | Antonio Gandy-Golden on retired list    Thu Jul 28, 06:17 PM

Washington Commanders TE Antonio Gandy-Golden was placed on the Reserve/Retired list Thursday, July 28.

Footballguys view: A fourth-round pick out of Liberty in the 2020 NFL draft, Gandy-Golden was converting to tight end this offseason, and Commanders head coach Ron Rivera did say he was progressing well in that department. Instead of competing as a reserve at a new position, Gandy-Golden decided to walk away from the game. In 10 games over two seasons, Gandy-Golden was targeted seven times and had one career catch for three yards.

Football Team | Antonio Gandy-Golden signed from PS    Sat Oct 23, 12:33 PM

Washington Football Team WR Antonio Gandy-Golden on Saturday, Oct. 23, was signed to the Week 7 roster from the practice squad.

Footballguys view: A fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, Gandy-Golden has spent most of this season on Washington's practice squad. Over the last couple of weeks, Gandy-Golden has been called up from the practice squad due to injuries. With Curtis Samuel (groin) out for Week 7, the team needed more depth at the position. Active for the last two games, Gandy-Golden has played only 11 snaps.

Washington Football Team WR Antonio Gandy-Golden on Saturday, Dec. 26, was activated off the Reserve/Injured list.

Footballguys view: Gandy-Golden has not played since Week 6. He should be out there against the Panthers on Sunday but doesn't have much fantasy value. The rookie is a player that has dynasty upside but has only one catch for three yards so far in 2020.

Football Team | Washington's injury report for Week 1    Fri Sep 11, 03:50 PM

Washington Football Team OT LB Thomas Davis (calf) did not practice for a second straight day Friday, Sept. 11, and has been ruled out for Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. CB Kendall Fuller (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as doubtful. OT Saahdiq Charles (calf) was upgraded to a full practice Friday and is listed as questionable. DT Jonathan Allen (knee) and WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (concussion) practiced in full all week and no longer appear on the injury report.

Footballguys view: Davis was going to be the elder leader of the linebacker group, but he'll be out against Phialdelphia. Fuller is the linchpin of the secondary, so Washington will be counting on the pass rush to get home so their players won't have to stick to Eagles receivers too long in coverage.

Football Team | No practice for Antonio Gandy-Golden    Wed Sep 2, 02:00 PM

Washington Football Team WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Footballguys view: Dontrelle Inman appears to have overtaken Gandy-Golden on the depth chart and has been seen playing with Terry McLaurin and Steven Sims in three-wide receiver sets in recent practices. Gandy-Golden has upside for dynasty GMs but in re-draft leagues he's unlikely to be much of a factor in this limited passing game.

Football Team | Antonio Gandy-Golden dealing with injury    Sat Aug 29, 02:22 PM

Washington Football Team WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (undisclosed) sat out practice Saturday, Aug. 29, as he deals with an undisclosed injury suffered Friday. Washington head coach Ron Rivera said Gandy-Golden's injury isn't serious.

Footballguys view: Gandy-Golden has size and the ability to high-point passes above defenders. He needs to work on beating press coverage but the kid can win after the catch with strength. We're excited to monitor his progress as a pro in dynasty formats.

Football Team | Dontrelle Inman official    Tue Aug 4, 10:32 AM

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Dontrelle Inman (Colts) officially signed an undisclosed deal with the Washington Football team. He'll compete for the fourth wide receiver spot with WR Antonio Gandy-Golden, according to beat writer JP Finlay.

Footballguys view: We'll put our chips on the rookie Gandy-Golden. He was a small-school standout at Liberty and showed at the Senior Bowl earlier this year that he can hang with better competition. This battle will unfold in training camp.

  Redskins | Four-year deal for Antonio Gandy-Golden    Wed Jul 22, 04:52 PM

Washington Redskins fourth-round draft choice WR Antonio Gandy-Golden signed a four-year contract with the Redskins Wednesday, July 22, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Gandy-Golden bullied opponents in college at Liberty. He can win contested catches with his size, leaping ability and wingspan. Gandy-Golden isn't the fastest receiver (4.60 40-yard dash) but can win with size near pay dirt or when it's time to move the chains. We'll see how he works his way up the depth chart in Washington as a rookie.

Redskins | Antonio Gandy-Golden specializes in jump balls    Sat May 23, 05:03 PM

Washington Redskins WR Antonio Gandy-Golden has a knack for coming down with 50/50 balls, and it's something he feels he needs to do. 'During the game not every ball I get is going to be wide open, so just for the quarterback to be confident enough to throw it to me I feel like I have to come down with it,' Gandy-Golden said.

Footballguys view: Gandy-Golden has an incredibly large catch radius and that helps him snare passes away from his frame where defenders cannot reach. The 'my ball' mentality he displayed in college at Liberty was outstanding, plus he proved he can hang with tougher competition earlier this year at the Senior Bowl. We'll see how the rookie can mix into the WR depth chart in 2020. Terry McLaurin is Washington's top receiver but behind him they have to figure things out. Gandy-Golden is in that competition.

  Redskins | Antonio Gandy-Golden recovered from COVID-19    Wed May 20, 12:21 PM

Washington Redskins WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (illness) released a statement Wednesday, May 20, through his agent, announcing the rookie was diagnosed with COVID-19 after a March 24 test. His symptoms were mild, and after two weeks of quarantine, Gandy-Golden was fully cleared April 7 and is now at 100 percent.

Footballguys view: Good news for the rookie here. Gandy-Golden is a small-school prospect with big upside. He was a star at Liberty but proved at the Senior Bowl that he could shine against a higher competition level. Washington has a wide open depth chart at wide receiver behind Terry McLaurin. We'll see Gandy-Golden compete for a starting spot and to establish himself in that pecking order during training camp.

Redskins | Antonio Gandy-Golden may contribute quickly in Washington    Wed Apr 29, 01:07 PM

Washington Redskins head coach Ron Rivera spoke highly of rookie WR Antonio Gandy-Golden, a fourth-round selection. Rivera believes Gandy-Golden can contribute in the red zone and work the middle of the field to keep chains moving. 'He can block, he's a guy that we feel can be a very physical blocker,' Rivera said. Due to that blocking ability along with his knack for making contested catches, the Redskins feel he can contribute immediately and be an ideal compliment to second-year WR Terry McLaurin.

Footballguys view: Washington is looking for someone opposite McLaurin and that may be the small-school prospect from Liberty. Gandy-Golden has excellent body control and athleticism to make crazy catches seem routine. He's a throw-it-up-and-go-get-it type of receiver who could become a favorite of the quarterback in the red zone.

Redskins | Antonio Gandy-Golden to WAS    Sat Apr 25, 01:55 PM

Liberty WR Antonio Gandy-Golden on Saturday, April 25, was selected in the fourth round (142nd-overall pick) of the NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins.

Footballguys view: Gandy-Golden is a small-school prospect with upside. He's got an intriguing size/speed combination and can track the ball well down the field. We are scooping him up in all dynasty formats.

NFL | Quick impact for Antonio Gandy-Golden?    Sat Apr 11, 09:24 PM

Liberty WR Antonio Gandy-Golden could last until the fourth or fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft but is 'going to help a team in 2020,' according to ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr.

Footballguys view: The small-school prospect has big-time ability and might end up in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft. He's got a size/speed combination that could make him a favorite target downfield. His wingspan and ball-tracking ability were hallmarks of his game. At the Senior Bowl earlier this year, Gandy-Golden showed that he could still get open against better competition than he regular faced in college.

Liberty WR Antonio Gandy-Golden 'plays like an alpha,' according to an NFC scout.

NFL | Antonio Gandy-Golden impressed in Mobile    Tue Jan 28, 11:05 PM

Liberty WR Antonio Gandy-Golden is 'not the most polished receiver ... but he'll be a nice player in the league (once he gets better with technique),' according to an unnamed NFL scout who talked to ESPN writers covering the Senior Bowl last week.

Footballguys view: Gandy-Golden is raw coming out of Liberty but the physical tools are there for him to be a playmaker at the pro level. He had an impressive week of practice at the Senior Bowl and showcased strong hands, body control and sideline awareness. We could see Gandy-Golden go off the board on Day 2 of the 2020 NFL draft.
