Giants | Wayne Gallman out this week    Wed Oct 9, 01:04 PM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 6.

Footballguys view: Gallman is one of many players on offense who are going to miss the game against the Patriots. We will see Jon Hilliman as the starting running back for the Giants. New England's defense is 3rd-best in the league, allowing an average of 78.0 rushing yards per game. Hilliman is nothing more than a RB3 or deep flex play at best.

Updating a previous report, New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman (concussion) suffered a concussion during the Week 5 game and will not return.

Footballguys view: Gallman was more effective than his earlier stints on the field, and finished drives well for the Giants. The team shouldn't be inclined to sign a veteran this week, leaving Gallman as a volume RB2 against the Vikings next week.

Giants | Wayne Gallman to lead backfield?    Sat Sep 28, 10:32 PM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman should see around 15 carries per game while RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is sidelined, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: The Giants only called up Jon Hilliman from the practice squad, so they are showing confidence in Gallman. He's a flex play with upside and bye/injury RB2 this week vs Washington.

Giants | Wayne Gallman's stock falling?    Fri Jun 28, 10:08 PM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman appears to have fallen behind RB Paul Perkins in the battle for the No. 2 running back job, and Gallman isn't a lock to be the No. 3 back at this point, according to Matt Lombardo of NJ.com.

Footballguys view: Gallman looked serviceable as a receiver and runner in limited action in 2017, but appears to be falling out of favor with the current regime. He's a versatile high effort back but might be looking for a job after the team added Rod Smith.

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman 'seemed to win over the (team)' in the team's preseason win over the Detroit Lions on Friday, Aug. 17. According to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, Gallman's reemergence has 'clouded' whether he or Jonathan Stewart will serve as the primary backup behind Saquon Barkley to begin the season.

Giants | Wayne Gallman scores pair of TDs    Sat Aug 18, 02:14 AM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman rushed five times for 26 yards and a touchdown in the preseason game against the Detroit Lions on Friday, Aug. 17, and he added two grabs for nine yards and a score.

Footballguys view: Gallman did a good job with the opportunity he had on Friday night. The Giants are set with rookie Saquon Barkley at the top of the depth chart. That means Gallman is competing with veteran Jonathan Stewart for the spots behind Barkley.

Giants | Wayne Gallman making play for No. 2 spot    Tue Jul 10, 12:13 PM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman has the 'inside track for the job as a change-of-pace complement' over Jonathan Stewart and Robert Martin, according to Matt Lombardo of NJ.com.

Footballguys view: Stewart has looked slow and former Rutgers back Martin is an undrafted free agent who had an impressive rookie mini-camp, and so is pretty unproven. Gallman has some talent but Saquon Barkley is the bellcow here and unless he gets hurt or implodes, consider Gallman a late-draft handcuff.

Giants | Wayne Gallman could be returner    Fri Jul 6, 06:56 PM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman could be used as a kick returner this season so the team can increase his game day value. He also has a chance to have a bigger role on offense.

Footballguys view: It may be bigger but unless Saquon Barkley faceplants, Gallman won't be generating much in the way of fantasy points. If you want to handcuff him to Barkley, that's one thing, but wait until late in the draft.

Giants | Week 17 game recap for Giants    Sun Dec 31, 04:58 PM

New York Giants QB Eli Manning completed just 10-of-28 pass attempts for 132 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Week 17 game against the Washington Redskins. RB Orleans Darkwa rolled up a career-high 154 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, while RB Wayne Gallman added 89 yards on 15 carries. TE Rhett Ellison posted five grabs for 63 yards, while WR Hunter Sharp stepped in with three catches, 29 yards and a touchdown to lead the wide receivers. WR Travis Rudolph also had 29 yards on his lone reception.

Footballguys view: The Giants running game pulled the offense to victory in a consolation win capping one of the most disappointing seasons for the team in a long time. There's still a chance Manning will be back to quarterback the team next year.

Giants | Wayne Gallman posts 99 total yards    Sun Dec 10, 04:50 PM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman rushed for 59 yards on 12 carries against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14. He also caught seven passes for 40 yards during the game.

Footballguys view: One has to wonder if Gallman has moved ahead of Orleans Darkwa going into the game against the Eagles next week. Gallman should be poised to be part of a committee backfield next year with whoever the new regime brings in to play running back next year. Gallman should be owned in dynasty leagues.

Giants | Wayne Gallman could lead backfield    Fri Oct 6, 10:28 PM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman could end up with a majority of the carries against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5, according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.com.

Footballguys view: That's what we're expecting with Paul Perkins out. It's not like Perkins was doing anything with his starting role for the Giants, so Gallman has a chance to impress and perhaps even keep the top job. The rookie from Clemson is a swift runner with the ability to get to and through the hole quickly. Fantasy owners should consider him a RB3/flex option against the Chargers in Week 5.
