| Footballguys view: A 2018 fifth-round pick of the Colts, Wilkins was bounced in 2021 and spent time with the Jaguars and Titans. The Colts brought him back in early November, and he's bounced on and off the practice squad since then. The Colts are the sixth team that Funk has been on in his short NFL career. The Bengals picked up Funk in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL draft. We'll monitor him in super deep dynasty formats. |

Los Angeles Rams RB Xavier Jones could have a slight edge over RB Raymond Calais and RB Jake Funk in the competition to be the primary backup to RB Darrell Henderson, according to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com.
| Footballguys view: This is an important battle to monitor during the preseason. Undrafted out of SMU in 2020, Jones is pegged by most Fantasy GMs as the primary target behind Henderson. We'll see Henderson as the lead back for the Rams this year, but he hasn't been a true workhorse back since high school and the team wants to keep him fresh. That means someone like Jones could get more snaps than some think. Keep him on your waiver wire speed dial in most formats. |

| Footballguys view: Henderson will likely lead the backfield in touches, but the team isn't going to give him the huge workloads they were giving Cam Akers late last year. They should give Jones and others a full opportunity to prove they deserve more work in training camp before looking at adding a veteran. They could also give the young backfield a few weeks to see what they can do against Chicago, Indianapolis, and Tampa Bay before making any decisions about adding to the depth chart. |

| Footballguys view: Funk is a hard-charging running back with some burst to break off chunk plays. He suffered an ACL injury to the same knee in 2018 and 2019 so durability is a concern. Funk will work primarily as a special teams player but if given the opportunity there is some natural skill that could be used on offense. |
