Dolphins | Miami makes more moves    Thu Feb 16, 05:36 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Joseph Hastings and RB Arian Foster were released from the Reserve/Retired list Thursday, Feb. 16.

Footballguys view: For Foster, this is likely the end of a career. Often exciting on the field, always exciting in an interview, Foster broke down before we were ready to see him go.

Dolphins | Arian Foster announces retirement    Mon Oct 24, 08:15 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) announced his retirement from football Monday, Oct. 24.

Footballguys view: One of the most productive players when healthy, Foster just couldn't shake the injury bug. Undrafted in 2009, Foster became a fantasy superstar for the Houston Texans from 2010-2014. The Dolphins have finally used Jay Ajayi the right way, and Damien Williams is now his primary backup.

Dolphins | Arian Foster will play    Sun Oct 23, 12:19 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is officially active for the team's Week 7 game.

Footballguys view: Foster should still take a backseat to Jay Ajayi and be used mainly in the passing game. He's on the fringe of rosterable in typical leagues.

Dolphins | Arian Foster listed as questionable    Fri Oct 21, 04:49 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 21, but is listed as questionable for Week 7.

Footballguys view: Jay Ajayi should lead this backfield as long as he doesn't end back in doghouse like he was at the beginning of the season. Foster is only worth carrying in deep PPR leagues.

Dolphins | Arian Foster full go    Thu Oct 20, 06:49 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) participated fully in practice Thursday, Oct. 20.

Footballguys view: Foster returns to a full-blown RBBC situation, with Jay Ajayi coming off a huge game. We have no idea how Foster fits in, and as it stands don't see him as much more than an RB5 unless Ajayi's production takes faceplant.

Dolphins | Arian Foster not at full health    Mon Oct 17, 03:20 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is still not at 100 percent, according to head coach Adam Gase. Gase did say that Foster 'still brings something to the table,' however.

Footballguys view: With Foster still banged up, it was Jay Ajayi who shined against the Steelers on Sunday. The Dolphins seemed to have the right O-Line combination (finally) after going through six different versions up front. We'll see if Foster cuts into Ajayi's workload as the veteran gets healthier, and we'll see if the Dolphins can continue to run the ball better going forward.

Dolphins | Arian Foster limited in return    Sun Oct 16, 11:30 PM

Dolphins | Arian Foster expected to play    Sun Oct 16, 10:46 AM

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 6's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Footballguys view: Foster is an upside flex in PPR leagues with the likelihood that the Dolphins remain pass heavy with an emphasis on short passing, but as always, he is no sure thing to finish the game.

Dolphins | Arian Foster to test hamstring Sunday    Sun Oct 16, 01:03 AM

Dolphins | Arian Foster officially questionable    Fri Oct 14, 09:12 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Friday, Oct. 14, and is listed as questionable for Week 6.

Footballguys view: Foster is a game-time decision, but all signs point to him getting the start against Pittsburgh this week. He'll be a PPR flex play with the likelihood that the Dolphins running game stays stuck in neutral and the team is forced to pass a lot to keep up with the Steelers.

Dolphins | Arian Foster to be a game-time decision    Fri Oct 14, 03:17 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) will be a game-time decision for the team's Week 6 game Sunday, Oct. 16, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to head coach Adam Gase.

Footballguys view: Foster has some PPR usefulness if he plays Sunday because he will be the lead back on a team that can't run and will likely be playing from behind against the Steelers. If he can't go Jay Ajayi should lead the committee, but there's not much value to be had there without Foster's pass-catching prowess in the mix.

Dolphins | Arian Foster still limited    Thu Oct 13, 04:11 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

Footballguys view: The Dolphins backfield is a complete mess, and if Foster plays - no certainty - he won't get the share of carries he did previously, which leaves him as a low-upside RB3.

Dolphins | Arian Foster expected to play    Wed Oct 12, 12:45 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is expected to play in Week 6 and will work more in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Footballguys view: Foster's return isn't all that exciting as the Dolphins are not built to run the ball. Against the Steelers, Foster should be the lead back and put up low-end RB2 numbers. He's a flex play in our view, and you likely have better options.

Dolphins | Arian Foster likely to sit Week 5    Fri Oct 7, 04:37 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) will 'most likely' be held out Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. While there is belief he can play, his status is expected to come down to a 'coaching decision'.

Footballguys view: The team is supposed to trim their RBBC -- and that's good news potentially for Jay Ajayi. Don't get too excited, but against the Titans on Sunday Ajayi could perform like an RB3.

Dolphins | Arian Foster limited     Thu Oct 6, 05:38 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 6. The Dolphins did not practice; Foster's status is an estimation of how active he would have been if Miami did practice.

Footballguys view: We think it's at least another week before he plays, maybe more, which leaves Jay Ajayi as the lead back and a serviceable RB3.

Dolphins | Arian Foster will not be rushed    Thu Oct 6, 12:56 AM

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin, hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 5, but head coach Adam Gase said Foster will not be rushed. RBs Jay Ajayi and Kenyan Drake will shoulder the load against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5 if Foster cannot go.

Dolphins | Arian Foster listed as limited    Wed Oct 5, 08:47 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Footballguys view: Foster broke down a bit earlier than expected, but that just means we are finally seeing Jay Ajayi get a full shot, if he can prove to the coaching staff he can keep on top of the work off the field. The Titans are a good matchup but Ajayi is still splitting carries, so he remains an RB3 until he proves to everyone he can be the full time back.

Dolphins | Arian Foster unlikely to play    Wed Oct 5, 12:45 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is unlikely to play in Week 5.

Footballguys view: Reports indicate the Dolphins could trim their RBBC to feature more of Jay Ajayi. That should be the case going forward until Foster is back. This week against the Titans, we can only recommend Ajayi as a low-end RB2 or flex play.

Dolphins | RB Arian Foster not practicing     Tue Oct 4, 01:24 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster is not practicing on Tuesday, October 4th.

Footballguys view: The Dolphins aren't built to run the ball, and we're not overly excited by any of the RB on the roster behind Foster. Jay Ajayi may be the most fantasy relevant, but as a RB3/flex play there should be other/better options for your team.

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 28, and has been ruled out for Week 4.

Dolphins | Arian Foster still sidelined    Mon Sep 26, 05:46 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) did not practice Monday, Sept. 26. Foster's status is an estimate as the Dolphins did not conduct a practice.

Footballguys view: We should see the Dolphins continue with their RBBC while Foster is out. It's a short week for them as they face the Bengals on Thursday night, so expecting Foster to play might be a stretch. Jay Ajayi would be the lead back again without Foster, but he's splitting touches with three other guys (Kenyan Drake, Isaiah Pead, Damien Williams).

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) won't be rushed back, according to head coach Adam Gase, which casts him as doubtful for Week 4 Thursday, Sept. 29.

Footballguys view: The Dolphins will continue to move forward with a RBBC featuring Jay Ajayi, Kenyan Drake, Isaiah Pead and Damien Williams. As you saw in Week 3, this situation is a bit of a mess for fantasy owners. Avoid if you can.

Dolphins | Arian Foster ruled out vs. Browns    Fri Sep 23, 04:22 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) will not play Week 3 versus the Cleveland Browns due to a groin strain.

Footballguys view: It's unknown who will get the start for the Dolphins, but Jay Ajayi is the most talented back and he got the most touches after Foster went out last week. Foster's history of return to play timelines after injuries suggests that he will miss at least one more week before returning.

Dolphins | Arian Foster misses practice    Thu Sep 22, 03:16 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 22. Head coach Adam Gase said the team is trying to figure out the severity of Foster's injury.

Footballguys view: He's a long shot to play Sunday, which is a shame because this is a solid matchup. The problem is, can the rest of the group pick up the slack? Jay Ajayi has been a healthy scratch when he isn't underwhelming, and Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake aren't ready for prime time. This should be a match-up worth exploiting, but the best we feel comfortable with recommending is with Ajayi as a borderling RB2/RB3.

Dolphins | Arian Foster not expected to play    Wed Sep 21, 02:22 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Sept. 21, and appears to be a long shot to play in Week 3. He may have a chance to play in Week 4.

Footballguys view: Jay Ajayi should start against a weak Browns defense. It's a great matchup, but the Dolphins aren't built to run the ball. Consider Ajayi a high-end RB3/flex play in Week 3.

Dolphins | Miami optimistic about Arian Foster    Tue Sep 20, 07:37 PM

The Miami Dolphins are 'cautiously optimistic' regarding RB Arian Foster (groin). He has not yet been ruled out for Week 3. His status may not be better determined until later in the week, however.

Footballguys view: We like being cautious when considering Foster as a fantasy starter this week. The matchup against the Browns in Week 3 is great, but we won't know Foster's status until Friday at the earliest. Make sure to have other options ready. If Foster is out, the Dolphins would turn to Jay Ajayi as their lead back.

Dolphins | Arian Foster has strained groin    Tue Sep 20, 02:57 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is dealing with a groin strain and his status for Week 3 is in question. He is not expected to miss more than one to two games.

Footballguys view: It seems like once the seal is broken with Foster and these soft-tissue injuries he's just never the same. We may see him back in a week or two, and if he misses Week 3 against the Browns then RB Jay Ajayi could be flex-worthy for fantasy owners.

Dolphins | Arian Foster day-to-day    Mon Sep 19, 02:53 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is considered day-to-day with a groin injury, according to head coach Adam Gase. Gase said he is unsure if Foster will practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Footballguys view: Wednesday's practice doesn't matter...but Friday's does. Check back to see if Foster can play in Week 3. It's a great matchup against a poor Browns defense if he can. If not, then grab Jay Ajayi who should take over as the lead back in Foster's absence.

Dolphins | Arian Foster to have MRI    Mon Sep 19, 08:18 AM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) will have an MRI on his injured groin Monday, Sept. 19, but the team is concerned he'll miss at least Week 3.

Footballguys view: Well, you got one week out of Foster. He's known to get banged up quite often, and it didn't take long for him to get injured with his new team. In the meantime, we'll see how things are split between Jay Ajayi, Kenyon Drake, Damien Williams and Isaiah Pead. Ajayi should be the lead back in Week 3....and he gets to go up against a bad Browns defense.

Dolphins | Arian Foster to miss time?    Mon Sep 19, 01:17 AM

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) left the Week 2 game against the New England Patriots due to a groin injury, and beat writer Adam Beasley believes the injury might be more than a one-week issue. RB Jay Ajayi filled in, running five times for 14 yards while adding four receptions for 31 yards.

Dolphins | Arian Foster leaves with injury    Sun Sep 18, 02:17 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) suffered a groin injury in Week 2 and is considered questionable to return.

Dolphins | Arian Foster will play Sunday    Sun Sep 18, 09:21 AM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) will be active for Week 2's game against the New England Patriots.

Footballguys view: Foster is a PPR RB2 in an offense that will have a lot of trouble running the ball, but it could be a rough day for the whole Miami offense in a place that they have had little success during the Ryan Tannehill era.

Dolphins | Arian Foster listed as questionable    Fri Sep 16, 04:05 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 16, but is listed as questionable for Week 2.

Footballguys view: Foster being on the injury report isn't a great sign this early in the season, but he is slated to start against the Patriots. The Dolphins running game is stuck in neutral, but Foster is still a solid PPR RB2/Flex play this week.

Dolphins | Arian Foster practices in full    Thu Sep 15, 03:22 PM

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 15.

Footballguys view: Last week, Foster looked like he was dragging a parachute behind him or running through molasses or maybe trying to recreate the "Chariots of Fire" scene which is the only one we know from the movie. We're saying he looked slow. That said, he's getting the bulk of the carries since apparently Jay Ajayi is not Adam Gase's favorite person. Despite the carries we don't expect better than low-end RB2 or high end RB3 numbers from him.

Dolphins | Arian Foster back at practice    Thu Sep 15, 02:08 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is participating in practice Thursday, Sept. 15.

Footballguys view: As Jay Ajayi seems to be on Adam Gase's bad side though, Foster will get the bulk of the work. He should look a little better against New England than he did against Seattle, but we don't expect better than low-end RB2 or high end RB3 numbers from him.

Dolphins | Arian Foster misses practice    Wed Sep 14, 04:57 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Dolphins | Arian Foster totals 100 yards    Mon Sep 12, 01:22 AM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster ran 13 times for 38 yards in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks in his team debut, and he added three receptions for a team-best 62 yards.

Footballguys view: That's enough if you took a chance and started him against a tough Seahawks defense. With better matchups going forward, Foster should do more as the lead back for the Dolphins.

Dolphins | Arian Foster officially starting    Mon Sep 5, 03:23 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster has officially been listed as Miami's starting running back.

Dolphins | Arian Foster could have most touches    Fri Aug 26, 03:03 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster 'may end up with more touches this season' than the starter, RB Jay Ajayi.

Dolphins | Forgettable debut for Arian Foster    Fri Aug 19, 10:46 PM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster made his team debut Friday, Aug. 19, against the Dallas Cowboys, losing five yards on two carries.

Footballguys view: Foster was still behind Jay Ajayi in the rotation, but Ajayi wasn't overly impressive. The Dolphins offensive line is still a work in progress, but Foster's pass-catching ability will give him a decent weekly floor in PPR leagues even if he is in a full timeshare with Ajayi. Chances are this will one of the most true RBBC situations in the league.

Dolphins | Arian Foster to debut    Tue Aug 16, 11:28 AM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (Achilles') will make his preseason debut Friday, Aug. 19, against the Dallas Cowboys.

Footballguys view: We'll hold our breath, as Foster is both coming back from an achilles and he has been an injury-prone player as his career has gone on. If he looks like his old self, he'll be worth a pick in the 7th-10th round range in PPR leagues because of his huge weekly upside in a pass offense that is still under construction.

Dolphins | Arian Foster showing to be best back    Thu Aug 4, 10:36 AM

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster has been 'head and shoulders' the best running back in practice, in the opinion of beat writer Armando Salguero.

Footballguys view: We've said that if Foster is healthy, he remains an elite back. Of course, being healthy now and staying that way is another matter. We also need to see him get hit in a real-game situation, so we're not as excited as some are about him until then. Consider him an RB3 but he's poised for much more.
