Ravens | Joe Flacco just misses 300 yards    Sun Oct 7, 04:46 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco completed 29-of-56 passes for 298 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.

Footballguys view: Flacco got the volume that had been fueling his solid start to the year, but the Browns defense frustrated him all day. He was on the verge of being a reliable every week start, but now we have to question his streamability against the Titans next week.

Ravens | Joe Flacco throwing deep more often    Fri Oct 5, 11:06 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco's yards per pass attempt has jumped from 5.72 in 2017 to 7.32 this season, and he is on pace to set a new career high in passing yards.

Footballguys view: That's what happens when you get him a deep target like John Brown. Flacco wants to air it out deep and Brown certainly has been one of his favorite targets in 2018.

Ravens | Joe Flacco uneven in loss    Thu Sep 13, 11:50 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco threw 376 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions on 32-for-55 passing Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Cincinnati Bengals. Flacco also lost a fumble.

Footballguys view: Flacco was winging it in the second half and ended up posting good fantasy numbers in the process. He's still a limited ceiling weekly play, but Flacco is riffing with his tight end and wide receiver groups. He has a tough matchup against the Broncos next week.

Ravens | Joe Flacco showing off athleticism    Sun Jul 22, 04:44 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is 'moving and grooving better than he has in several years,' according to offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg.

Footballguys view: Flacco had a serious knee injury recovery and then back issue to work through during the last two camps. This year, it appears he is at full speed, and first-round pick Lamar Jackson is already impressing to put pressure on him. Flacco could have an 2017 Alex Smith-like resurgence if he can harness these factors.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson being worked in    Fri Jul 20, 09:36 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson was on the field at the same time as QB Joe Flacco for a few plays during training camp Thursday, July 19.

Footballguys view: Jackson is too explosive of an athlete to keep on the sideline even though he's the backup to Flacco. We'll see if he can develop into the franchise quarterback of the future for the Ravens, but this season we could see him worked in on some gadget plays. Teams facing the Ravens will have to prepare for anything when a playmaker like Jackson comes onto the field.

Ravens | Joe Flacco worked with WRs last week    Wed Jul 18, 03:34 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco 'got a lot of good work in' with his wide receivers last week, according to WR Willie Snead.

Footballguys view: Flacco will have a brand new WR corps to throw to in 2018. The team went out in free agency to add Snead, Michael Crabtree and John Brown. It seems to be a make-or-break year for Flacco in 2018 with rookie first-round pick Lamar Jackson developing behind him this year. We'll see if Flacco can establish strong chemistry with his new receiving weapons and lead the Ravens back to the playoffs this year.

Ravens | Joe Flacco putting in the time    Sun Jun 17, 11:20 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said he plans to have throwing sessions with his receivers over the summer. 'So we'll be getting together, and it'll be good for us,' Flacco said.

Footballguys view: Flacco is playing with a renewed vigor this offseason according to reports. That's what happens when a team selects a quarterback in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft, and Lamar Jackson has been 'wowing' teammates and media out at Ravens headquarters. Flacco needs all the time he can get with his new weapons as the Ravens have completely revamped their WR corps.

Ravens | Joe Flacco more motivated    Wed Jun 13, 01:50 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco appears to be more motivated this offseason as a result of the Ravens drafting QB Lamar Jackson and signing QB Robert Griffin III, according to FS Eric Weddle.

Footballguys view: Flacco has to be feeling the pressure after the Ravens added two quarterbacks this offseason, one (Jackson of course) with a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Under contract through 2020, it seems like Flacco realizes the league is called 'not for long' for a reason. We'll see if Flacco can stay sparked through the 2018 season with so much about his future riding on this season.

Ravens | Joe Flacco focused on the present    Thu May 24, 02:46 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco was relatively mum regarding his opinion of the Ravens selecting QB Lamar Jackson with their first pick. 'When you draft anyone in the first round, there is always a plan,' Flacco said. 'What that plan is? I don't know. I'm worried about right now.'

Footballguys view: Reports indicated Flacco did not initially return the calls/texts of Jackson after he was selected with the 32nd overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Jackson could be the quarterback of the future for the Ravens, but it might take some time for him to develop his raw skill set. In the meantime, the team is still in Flacco's hands.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson will be understudy    Fri Apr 27, 11:53 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will not unseat QB Joe Flacco as the team's starter in 2018, according to head coach John Harbaugh. 'Joe Flacco is our quarterback, and that's the thing that you've got to remember. Lamar's gonna have a great chance to develop. I think you get to this stage in a quarterback's career, you see it done in New England and you've seen it done in a lot of places,' Harbaugh said.

Footballguys view: Jackson is a long-term answer, not likely a short-term one. That said, consider Joe Flacco put on notice.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson could take over in 2019    Fri Apr 27, 01:32 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is likely to sit for a year and then take over as part of an offensive overhaul in 2019, according to Ian Rapoport. QB Joe Flacco has no guaranteed money remaining on his contract after the 2018 season.

Footballguys view: This is what we expected, given that even if Joe Flacco was just replaced, it's a replacement that won't be immediate. Jackson needs a little work, and Flacco is under contract though John Harbaugh won;t commit to Flacco beyond this year for sure. We like the coaching staff here and think they could put a good team around Jackson for his eventual emergence.

Ravens | Baltimore looking at quarterbacks    Fri Mar 2, 09:29 PM

The Baltimore Ravens are doing 'considerable work' on the quarterbacks in the 2018 NFL Draft, according to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com, and La Canfora believes the Ravens could spend an early-round pick on a potential successor for QB Joe Flacco.

Footballguys view: This buzz has been out there for some time. The Ravens need to find a quarterback to groom behind Joe Flacco. This year there should be five QBs taken in the first round, but most will be gone by the time the Ravens pick. If they want a top QB they'll have to trade up.

Ravens | Owner endorses Joe Flacco     Fri Feb 2, 11:23 PM

Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said there are 'bigger fish to fry' than finding QB Joe Flacco's replacement, and Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun believes the Ravens won't be looking at quarterbacks in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Footballguys view: Flacco played better as the year went on, dealt with injuries on the offensive line, didn't ever get Danny Woodhead fully integrated into the offense, and didn't have players adding value on the end of his targets. He's not one of the 12 best starting quarterbacks in the league, but he's not one of the ten worst either. It doesn't sound like they will target a quarterback at 16.

Ravens | Baltimore could draft quarterback    Thu Jan 4, 12:12 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco may be mentoring a successor in the near future, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh said the Ravens will 'for sure' be talking about drafting a quarterback this year with Flacco turning 33 years old in a couple of weeks. Baltimore has not selected a quarterback in the first five rounds of a draft since they took Flacco with the 18th overall pick in 2008.

Footballguys view: Flacco had about as poor a season as he's ever had, and there will certainly be questions as to how much more he has in the tank. We wouldn't expect a new starter anytime soon, but don't be shocked if the Ravens grab a quarterback on Day 2 of the draft.

Ravens | Week 17 game recap for Ravens    Sun Dec 31, 08:19 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco completed 25-of-47 pass attempts for 203 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 17 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. RB Alex Collins ran 20 times for 78 yards and a score while adding 18 yards on two receptions. RB Javorius Allen tacked on 37 rushing yards on five attempts. TE Benjamin Watson had a team-high 61 yards on seven grabs. WR Mike Wallace was targeted a game-high 13 times, finishing with five catches, 40 yards and a TD. WR Michael Campanaro was good for three receptions and 36 yards.

Footballguys view: A late defensive breakdown on 4th and 12 cost the Ravens a playoff spot. Collins established himself as the lead back in the second half of the year, but the passing game had to strive to be mediocre this year. The Ravens are in an unfamiliar place in the Flacco era, eliminated before the playoff begin.

Ravens | Joe Flacco throws two TDs    Sat Dec 23, 07:53 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco went 29-for-38 for 237 yards and two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16.

Footballguys view: Flacco came through in the good matchup despite the rain and missing Jeremy Maclin. He has another good matchup in Week 17 against the Bengals and has become a safe, high floor fantasy quarterback in the last month of the season.

Ravens | Joe Flacco accounts for two touchdowns    Sun Dec 17, 05:03 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco went 26-for-42 for 288 yards and one touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 15. He also rushed for three yards and one touchdown on four carries during the game.

Footballguys view: Flacco also had a drive stall out inside the five on fourth down. He was his usual reliable self against the Browns with the help of veterans Ben Watson and Mike Wallace. Flacco is a safe low ceiling QB1 against the Colts next week too.

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco went 22-for-28 for 183 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Green Bay Packers in Week 11.
