Ravens | Flacco continues to throws touchdowns    Mon Nov 2, 02:49 PM

The Associated Press reports Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has thrown a touchdown pass in seven consecutive games.

Our view: The Ravens did a good job of keeping the Broncos defense on their heels, and Joe Flacco was very patient in the pocket. He would stand in until the last second, and deliver the football just before getting hit. He was also able to find the single coverage, and pick on the Denver secondary. Flacco smartly stayed away from cornerback Champ Bailey, but otherwise could do whatever he wanted against a tough Denver defense.

Ravens | Flacco practices Wednesday    Wed Oct 28, 06:40 PM

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Our view: Flacco should be good to go for Sunday's contest against the Broncos. He will face a very tough Broncos secondary featuring Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins. Flacco will also have to worry about OLB Elvis Dumervil who leads the NFL with 10 sacks on the season.

Edward Lee, of The Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (foot, ankle) said someone stepped on his left foot during the team's Week 6 game, which caused him to roll his right ankle. Flacco insists he is fine and that's it isn't a big deal.

Ravens | Flacco throws for 385 yards Week 6    Sun Oct 18, 05:42 PM

The Associated Press reports Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco went 28-for-43 for 385 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6.

Our view: Flacco stood in against relentless pressure and had his team in position to win yet again in Minnesota. Flacco spread the ball around to multiple targets, with touchdown passes to Mark Clayton and Ray Rice.

Ravens | Flacco throws for 342 yards Week 3    Mon Sep 28, 12:42 AM

The Associated Press reports Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco was 25-for-35 for a career-high 342 yards with a touchdown Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns.

Our view: Flacco was surgically effective against the Browns. Deep passes and timing routes to Derrick Mason, underneath routes to Kelley Washington, LeRon McClain and Ray Rice, and routes over the middle to Todd Heap were all successful. The Ravens are clicking on all cylinders with Flacco under center, with little suggest their good play won't continue.

Ravens | Flacco has nice showing Saturday    Sat Aug 29, 11:52 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco had a nice outing Saturday, Aug. 29, against the Carolina Panthers. He hit 23-of-28 passes for 247 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions.

Our view: This performance showed Flacco's progress, but it also showed how vulnerable the Panthers defense is. By most accounts, their performance caused a lot of concern about how they'll perform in the regular season.

Ravens | Flacco solid Thursday    Thu Aug 13, 11:18 PM

The Associated Press reports Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco was 9-for-15 for 103 yards during the team's preseason opener Thursday, Aug. 13.

Our view: There has been talk out of Ravens camp that Joe Flacco had been struggling, but he put in a solid performance against the Redskins in their first preseason game.

Ravens | Flacco struggling during camp    Wed Aug 12, 03:41 PM

Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has been throwing a high number of interceptions and has struggled reading defenses during training camp, but offensive coordinator Cam Cameron is not worried about Flacco. 'I'd be concerned if he weren't throwing some interceptions, because now's the time to test your limits,' Cameron said. 'The only way your quarterback can grow is to try to squeeze some balls in at this time of year to find the limits, find the limits of the receiver, find the limits of the defender, find the limits of your protection. Then, as the season approaches, and obviously it starts to change. Now, if he's doing it every snap, which he's not doing that, [I'd be concerned]. But that's the only way I know.'

Our view: Flacco had a very simplified system last year that only asked him to throw deep and to the sidelines. Now he'll have to grow to make the more dangerous throws in the middle of the field. He could be in for a sophomore slump. We would only recommend him as one of the last backup fantasy QBs on the board.

Ravens | Flacco in command    Tue Aug 4, 10:55 AM

Ross Tucker, of Sports Illustrated, reports that Ravens QB Joe Flacco is much improved from his rookie year training camp. Tucker writes that Flacco has command of the offense, and he's looking good against the Ravens defense, even without Derrick Mason, who is about to return to practices.

Our view: Flacco is a solid fantasy backup QB, and he is going later than QBs with bigger names, but similar outlooks, such as Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger.

Ravens | Looking for Flacco to step up    Sat Aug 1, 04:32 PM

Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has challenged second-year QB Joe Flacco to pick up his game this year. The Ravens realize there will be times this year they will need to win games through the air, too, and they want Flacco to elevate his game. Hensley says the Ravens will remain a run-first offense, but they are looking to be more balanced.

Ravens | Saunders hired as offensive consultant    Fri Jul 31, 09:46 AM

Adam Schefter, of ESPN.com, reports on his Twitter feed that the Ravens have hired Al Saunders as a consultant.

Our view: Cam Cameron is quite possibly the best offensive mind in the league, and now he gets Al Saunders help, the guy who oversaw the offensive juggernaut in Kansas City earlier this decade.

Ravens | Flacco displaying leadership    Tue Jul 28, 01:15 PM

Luke Jones, from WNST.net, reports QB Joe Flacco looked pretty sharp in his first training camp workout, but the keystone moment for the former Delaware Blue Hen was actually an incomplete pass to running back Matt Lawrence who ran the incorrect pattern. The second-year quarterback corrected his teammate, ran the play again, and completed the pass to Lawrence. It was a simple example of the leadership Flacco has with this offense.

Our view: Coming into his second season Flacco must feel as confident as ever. He's recently commented that his game-time experience from last season has proved invaluable to him. The Ravens would like to open up their passing game a little more in 2009, and there should be more responsibility on the shoulders of Joe Flacco.

Ravens | Joe Cool looking to improve in second year    Sun Jul 26, 06:11 PM

Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco will report to training camp Monday, July 27. Joe Cool will have all eyes on him after a successful rookie season, but the bar will also be raised. 'If you're not motivated by yourself at this level, you're not going to be successful,' Flacco said. A year ago, offensive coordinator Cam Cameron would stand behind Flacco and tell him the plays.

Our view: This year, Flacco has been running the no-huddle offense on his own. One of his goals this year is to raise his completion percentage, where he ranked 20th in the league last year (he completed 60 percent of his passes). Another focus is throwing over the middle, where he had a 47.4 quarterback rating last season.

Ravens | Offense should open up some this year    Mon Jun 29, 08:09 PM

Gerry Dulac, Vinnie Iyer & Mike Preston, of Sporting News, report that Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron should open up the offense some this season for QB Joe Flacco, even though they will remain a run-first team.

Our view: The passing offense was focused on passes to the sidelines and deep last year to minimize the chances of an interception if Flacco made an error. The main beneficiaries of this change should be the tight ends - Todd Heap and LJ Smith - as Flacco should be trusted more to work the middle of the field in his second season.

Ravens | Flacco and Smith developing chemistry    Fri May 8, 07:41 PM

James Walker, of ESPN.com, reports Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco seems to be developing good chemistry with WR Marcus Smith. Smith made some big plays during minicamp Friday, May 8.

Our view: Marcus Smith is able to take advantage of receivers above him on the depth chart taking some time off during minicamp. Smith is a strong WR that has good run after the catch ability. The Ravens failed to add a WR in the NFL Draft so maybe they feel the guys they already have will develop into nice receiving weapons.
