Jets | New York won't wait forever on QB    Wed Jun 15, 06:24 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick's (Jets) impasse with the New York Jets does have an expiration date, according to head coach Todd Bowles. Bowles said the Jets will rely on QB Geno Smith to be their starter if Fitzpatrick's contract is not worked out by a certain time. Bowles didn't say when exactly that time would be, but he indicated that it wouldn't be preseason. Fitzpatrick would start if/when he does re-sign, though.

Footballguys view: More pressure on Fitzpatrick to fold. A lot of Jets fans are losing their minds over the thought of Geno Smith starting, but so far reports on him have been glowing. And let's also consider that this is the best receiver tandem he has worked with by far (Eric Decker was wildly out of place as a WR1 in 2014) and Chan Gailey's offense should be a good fit. On top of all that, the opening schedule is so brutal they might as well trot Fireman Ed out there--at least when he gets killed they will still have a full roster. The schedule, even more than Smith's history, is why we are not bullish on whomever is QB1 for the Jets. Smith is no safer than a low-end QB3 and Fitzpatrick would likely be about the same thing.

Jets | Could add quarterback    Wed Jun 15, 03:54 PM

If free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) does not re-sign with the New York Jets then head coach Todd Bowles said they might add a veteran quarterback.

Footballguys view: That crash you heard was Bryce Petty dropping his lunch tray in the cafeteria, probably because there was a fly in his pudding but also because if the team pulls in a veteran, Petty is likely the odd man out. Hackenberg is too valuable to risk getting snagged on the way to the practice squad, and Geno Smith would start. There's no way the Jets burn four roster spots on the position so Petty could be in trouble if he can't show improvement this summer.

Jets | No deadline for Ryan Fitzpatrick    Tue Jun 14, 06:39 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) and the New York Jets do not have a 'drop-dead deadline' to get a deal done, according to head coach Todd Bowles. It was reported Monday, June 13, that there had been no progress in contract talks with Fitzpatrick.

Footballguys view: The Jets are slow-playing this Fitzpatrick situation. He's gone from scoffing at their offer to being interested in any sort of deal they give him. The team is ready to move forward with Geno Smith as their likely starter while rookie Christian Hackenberg is seen as the developmental QB.

Jets | No progress in Ryan Fitzpatrick talks    Mon Jun 13, 08:42 AM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) hasn't made progress on contract talks with the New York Jets, as of Monday, June 13. It's unknown if something will get done before training camp.

Footballguys view: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Wake us up when something actually happens.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick makes counteroffer    Fri Jun 3, 11:11 AM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) let the New York Jets know that he'd be willing to re-sign for one year and $12 million guaranteed. The Jets are offering the same amount as part of a front-loaded three-year, $24 million deal. However, the Jets are being stubborn and aren't willing to indicate they would be willing to sign him for just one year. There haven't been negotiations between the sides for months.

Footballguys view: The never-ending soap opera continues. Like sands through the hourglass of time, Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets continue their standoff.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick stance could escalate    Thu Jun 2, 07:17 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick's (Jets) impasse with the New York Jets could be more heavily addressed in the coming weeks, according to ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini. Head coach Todd Bowles said the Jets could wait until training camp in late July, but Cimini believes New York will want to get something done before that. Furthermore, if Los Angeles Rams QB Nick Foles is released, then it could prompt the Jets to force the issue with their prodigal quarterback, as Foles could be deemed a last-chance option for a veteran signal-caller.

Footballguys view: The Jets have all the leverage here right now and they will play this however they want. Maybe the Rams offer Fitzpatrick if Foles is released, but it's clear that otherwise nobody wants Fitzpatrick and his options are very limited. The Jets could offer Foles a cheap deal and likely he would take it for an outside shot to start, though we imagine he would end up on the bench. Meanwhile we believe Bryce Petty is most in danger of not making the final cut if another quarterback shows up.

Jets | NYJ not giving Ryan Fitzpatrick one year    Thu Jun 2, 08:34 AM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) is open to signing a one-year deal with the New York Jets worth $12 million, but the team is not willing to make that offer to him, according to sources.

Footballguys view: As outlined by Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk, the Jets simply can't do that without really putting themselves in a bad cap position. Per Florio: "If, for example, the pending offer from the Jets includes a $9 million signing bonus and a $3 million salary in 2016, Fitzpatrick would count only $6 million against the cap this season. Under his proposed one-year contract, the cap hit becomes $12 million." Fitzpatrick has tried as hard as he could to leverage what little position he had into more money but the Jets won't budge. A mediocre quarterback coming off a career year (which in the grand scheme of things was only impressive compared to his previous work), nobody else wants Fitzpatrick and the Jets are willing to roll out Geno Smith rather than hurt their team long term.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick will take one-year deal?    Thu Jun 2, 01:54 AM

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is prepared to end his contract stalemate by informing the club he will take a one-year, $12 million guaranteed deal for the 2016 season, a source said Wednesday, June 1. It is the same money with the same guarantee the Jets are offering in the first year of their frontloaded three-year, $24 million proposal that has backup money in the second and third year. If the Jets were to agree to a one-year deal, it would be a $12 million cap hit, and they would need to clear $8.9 million.

Footballguys view: The Jets can't take that hit and won't. Of course, if Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall were really willing to do everything they could to bring Fitzpatrick back, they'd both take pay cuts to make it happen. We won't hold our breath.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick could sign elsewhere    Tue May 31, 01:56 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) could spurn the New York Jets to take less money for another team on principle alone, according to team sources. The Jets no longer believe that re-signing Fitzpatrick is inevitable after their contract offer terms became public this weekend.

Footballguys view: Where? We know anything can happen in the NFL, but there is no team clamoring to add Fitzpatrick. Our only hope is that Fitzpatrick signs somewhere so we can stop this pointless drama with the Jets. Fitzpatrick knows the system and would be the best QB on the Jets roster. Will they or won't they? We just wish they would so we didn't have to write about it every day.

Jets | More on Jets' offer to Ryan Fitzpatrick    Sun May 29, 04:20 PM

Updating a previous report, Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) has received a three-year offer from the New York Jets worth $24 million, according to sources. Fitzpatrick would receive $12 million in the first year of the deal and $6 million in the other two seasons.

Footballguys view: About a month ago, Fitzpatrick scoffed at what the Jets wanted to pay him. Then the draft happened and any QB-needy team addressed the position. Now, it seems like something's going to give...and by something we mean Fitzpatrick's camp. We expect to see him back with the Jets this year.

Jets | New York comfortable with quarterbacks    Sun May 29, 02:08 PM

New York Jets QB Geno Smith is currently slated to start at quarterback with free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) still not re-signed. Offensive coordinator Chan Gailey, however, said the Jets are comfortable with whoever wins the starting job.

Footballguys view: Gailey can make pretty much anything work at QB. He was able to get good play out of Tyler Thigpen years ago with the Chiefs, and Gailey has a long history of crafting offenses that are tailored to his players strength. We feel Fitzpatrick is going to get re-signed in the near future, but if not then Gailey will be able to get by at the position.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick has offer from Jets    Fri May 27, 06:41 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) has received a three-year offer from the New York Jets that would pay him $12 million in the first season, according to sources.

Footballguys view: About a month ago Fitzpatrick was posturing and playing the "retirement" card based on an "insulting" deal from the Jets. Now, he's changed his tune as nobody else is really interested in him. He should stay with the Jets and end this offseason drama once and for all.

Jets | No talks between Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jets    Wed May 25, 09:31 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) has not had contract talks with the New York Jets over the last few weeks, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Forget the whole "OTA holdout" drama, most of which is nonsense. The simple breakdown is this: nobody in the NFL wants Fitzpatrick, certainly not at whatever inflated price he wants. He and the Jets will get a deal done and it won't break the bank. The only way this goes differently is if some quarterback gets hurt in the near future.

Jets | Coach hopeful Ryan Fitzpatrick is re-signed    Wed May 25, 02:29 PM

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles said he's 'hopeful' that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is re-signed by training camp. However, Bowles didn't say he's confident.

Footballguys view: Things are getting back on track with the Jets and Fitzpatrick. The two sides were at an impasse earlier this year, but now the QB market has dried up and Fitzpatrick will likely lower his asking price in order to play with the Jets. If (when?) he's signed, Fitzpatrick should start and put up high-end QB2 numbers for fantasy owners.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick wants to return    Mon May 23, 01:27 PM

Updating a previous report, free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) wants to re-sign with the New York Jets. 'I would like to be back,' Fitzpatrick said. He's been in a three-month contract stalemate with the Jets.

Footballguys view: Things are at an impasse right now between Fitzpatrick and the Jets, but that could change quickly. Any other team with a QB need has already filled it, so Fitzpatrick has run out of options. He can either retire or sign a team-friendly deal with the Jets. At this point, it sounds like he doesn't want to retire so a return to the Jets makes the most sense.

NFL | Ryan Fitzpatrick not retiring    Mon May 23, 12:48 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) dispelled rumors that he was considering retirement Monday, May 23. 'I'm playing,' Fitzpatrick said. 'I'm playing football next year.'

Footballguys view: Fitzpatrick is running out of options. The Jets could bring him back, but the price tag would likely be a lot lower than the veteran had hoped for. We think he winds up with the Jets as other QB-needy teams have already filled the positions.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick deadline soon?    Thu May 19, 04:31 PM

The deadline for free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) could be sooner than expected. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport posits that the first legitimate deadline is when the Jets' organized team activities start Tuesday, May 24.

Footballguys view: The Jets aren't budging, no matter how much some in the media feel they should. GM Mike Maccagnan and coach Todd Bowles seem willing to wait and have Fitzpatrick come down on his requests or roll with Geno Smith, Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty. Unless some other team starts sniffing around Fitzpatrick, there's no urgency right now. Who will blink? We're thinking Fitzpatrick, unless there is an injury.

Jets | Teammate expects Ryan Fitzpatrick back    Tue May 17, 09:55 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) is not close to a contract agreement with the New York Jets, but Jets WR Eric Decker said he expects Fitzpatrick to be the starting quarterback in the first regular season game.

Footballguys view: Fitzpatrick is a seasoned veteran, so he doesn't need every offseason rep with the Jets as he already knows the Chan Gailey system like the back of his hand. The Jets drafted Christian Hackenberg (Penn State) in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft, but he's more of a developmental prospect who should sit for a year if possible. Geno Smith and Bryce Petty are the only other QBs on the roster. The Jets are at a stalemate right now with Fitzpatrick, but that could quickly change as we get closer to training camp.

Jets | Eric Decker talks Ryan Fitzpatrick    Tue May 17, 07:58 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker said the Jets need to be prepared to play without free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets). Decker does want New York to re-sign the veteran quarterback, but he's focused on the football team as a whole. 'All I can say is we have to move on without him right now because they are stuck where they are with the business decision,' Decker said. 'But, again, we have a job to do and that's to be the best football team, field the best football team, of who we have in the locker room right now.'

Footballguys view: The Jets WRs liked catching passes from Fitzpatrick because he has no fear throwing into coverage. The two sides are at an impasse right now, but that might change quickly as training camp draws near.

NFL | Ryan Fitzpatrick could affect draft     Wed May 11, 07:31 PM

If free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) is signed Thursday, May 12, or onward by a prospective team, then he will not count against that team's compensatory draft picks.

Footballguys view: The question is, who is the market for him? We know the Jets are holding fast and the rest of the league seems disinterested. His best scenario is if he and the Jets can come to terms as he is comfortable in the offense Chan Gailey runs.

Jets | No urgency with Ryan Fitzpatrick     Tue May 10, 02:56 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick's (Jets) status remains in limbo with the New York Jets. Owner Woody Johnson said there's no urgency to re-sign Fitzpatrick at this point with training camp still two months away.

Footballguys view: The team is just staying patient right now. Fitzpatrick already knows the Chan Gailey system, so he doesn't need to be present for installation this offseason. Things seem distant between the two sides now, but that could change quickly as training camp gets closer.

Jets | New York could keep four quarterbacks    Tue May 3, 07:15 PM

New York Jets QBs Geno Smith, Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg, and possibly free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) could all be on New York's roster when the 2016 regular season commences. General manager Mike Maccagnan said if it's in the best interest of the team then they will keep four quarterbacks. 'It's been done before,' Maccagnan said. 'To me, it's a position where you have to take some time to really invest, grow and develop players.'

Footballguys view: The Jets could have Fitzpatrick compete with Geno Smith for the starting job. They could then see if Petty could hold off Hackenberg for the third-string/developmental job. The loser of that battle could wind up on the team's practice squad. The talks with Fitzpatrick are at a standstill right now, but things could change quickly at any time.

Jets | General manager excited for Geno Smith    Tue May 3, 04:31 PM

New York Jets QB Geno Smith could start for the Jets in 2016 if free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) is not re-signed. That prospect has general manager Mike Maccagnan excited. 'Right now, Geno has been a starter for us, and actually played quite well prior to getting hurt last year, and was doing a good job in the offseason,' Maccagnan said. 'So we're kind of excited to see what Geno can do, coming back. And we feel good about that.'

Footballguys view: Is Maccagnan serious here? Smith gets to work under noted quarterback whisperer Chan Gailey for another season, so there may be a little bit of hope for him yet. However, Smith needs to prove that he can consistently make good decisions as a passer under pressure. A broken jaw last year (caused by a former teammate) knocked Smith out of the lineup where Ryan Fitzpatrick was able to take over and thrive as the starter.

Jets | No talks between Jets, Ryan Fitzpatrick    Fri Apr 29, 09:32 PM

The last time free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and the New York Jets had any meaningful talks was 'weeks ago,' according to one source.

Footballguys view: As we thought. At this point, there's not going to be movement, as the Jets are firmly set in moving on. They certainly aren't going to add more to their offer.

Jets | Christian Hackenberg should sit first year    Fri Apr 29, 09:01 PM

New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg is expected to sit and grow in his first season in the NFL. If free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) is re-signed, it could very well only be a one-year deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Footballguys view: He's going to have to wait because he's absolutely not ready now. As for Fitzpatrick, he has a choice to either retire as threatened or take the only offer he's had in what the Jets put out there. He would be a great fill in for the year, but his pride might be in the way.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick may not play     Thu Apr 28, 04:30 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) has told people he would rather not play football this season than play for the New York Jets under their latest contract offer.

Footballguys view: Well he'd better get his Lazy-Boy ready because nobody else has come knocking. Fitzpatrick has seen no interest even from the QB-desperate Broncos. We think the Jets might raise their offer from the reported $7 million to maybe $10, but it's clear Fitzpatrick wants more since nobody else is biting. The Jets seem Ok moving on without him, relying on a good defense, a solid run game and two very nice wide receivers.

Free-agent QB Brian Hoyer (Texans) is receiving some interest from the New York Jets, but Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan said the team is doing due diligence on Hoyer.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick unlikely to sign soon    Mon Apr 18, 09:26 AM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) isn't expected to re-sign with the New York Jets before the NFL Draft, barring a significant breakthrough. The draft begins Thursday, April 28.

Footballguys view: The Jets are playing hard to get here, but so is Fitzpatrick. The crazy money (see Sam Bradford, Eagles) thrown around earlier this offseason seems to have dried up. Fitzpatrick had a strong year last season as the Jets starter, but they will only bring him back for the right price. That price tag is likely to be much less than the $17.5 million annual salary Bradford got from the Eagles.

Jets | No progress with Ryan Fitzpatrick    Thu Apr 14, 02:33 PM

The New York Jets haven't made any progress in an attempt to re-sign QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, according to owner Woody Johnson. Johnson also said it wasn't imperative that the team bring Fitzpatrick back. 'No, no. I think this is a big team. We've made our statements regarding Ryan Fitzpatrick well-known, and I'll stick with those that we've made,' Johnson said.

Footballguys view: Things are still at an impasse right now between the two sides. With the draft coming up, we could see the team making some moves to position themselves to select a rookie QB. Perhaps that will change things with Fitzpatrick as the Jets seem to be the only team interested in the veteran at this time.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick deadline nearing?    Thu Mar 31, 07:25 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) and the New York Jets still aren't close on a new deal. The Jets would like to get a deal done by April 18, when the first phase of their offseason program begins.

Footballguys view: Fitzpatrick is clinging to his number and the Jets are locked on their own. There has to be a significant gap here otherwise we assume the deal would be done, or at least close to it. Fitzpatrick knows this is his last big contract and the Jets know he is a short-term solution. He threw for more touchdowns than any Jets quarterback last season, but folded in the last few games, and he's getting on in years. So the Jets know spending a ton of money on him is foolish. It could make the draft very interesting if the deal never happens. Fitzpatrick would be a solid No. 2 QB in fantasy, but he is always in danger of exploding, so you'd have to have another choice. We don't know where he will land if not with the Jets - there seems to be little interest in him from anyone else at any price.

Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown has drawn interest from the New York Jets, who are still in limbo with free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets). The Jets could wait until McCown is released to pursue him, but that may not be for another few weeks.

Footballguys view: McCown could be just as valuable for fantasy as Ryan Fitzpatrick was last year if he's the starter for the Jets. The combination of quality receivers and a willingness to run would make him a top streaming QB option.

Broncos | Denver not rushing QB decision    Wed Mar 23, 01:03 PM

Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said the Broncos are not in a rush to add another quarterback this offseason. Kubiak said QB Mark Sanchez will learn the team's offense quickly because of his familiarity with the verbiage during his days in college, and Sanchez has been at the team facility offseason since he signed. Free-agent QBs Robert Griffin III (Redskins) and Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) are options, as well as trading for San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, Houston Texans QB Brian Hoyer or Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon.

Footballguys view: If this team can win a Super Bowl with one foot in the grave Peyton Manning, they shouldn't feel rushed or pressured into any quarterback decisions. They can at least return to the playoffs with Sanchez as long as the defense continues its reign. This is little solace to anyone depending on Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas in fantasy leagues.

Jets | Geno Smith ready to lead team?    Sun Mar 20, 07:56 PM

'I think he's taken on everything,' said Colon. 'I think he's ready to rise. I still have confidence in him. I think with the pieces we have around him, and continue to put around him, he can be successful. I honestly believe that. I think Geno's a good quarterback.'

Footballguys view: Folks need to remember that Smith was the lead QB until getting his jaw broken by a former teammate. That allowed the door to be opened for Ryan Fitzpatrick. Smith may need a fresh start somewhere else after his career with the Jets has been held back by inconsistent play.

Footballguys view: Same as it ever was. Fitzpatrick may want Osweiler/Bradford money, but he's unlikely to get that at this point. We think the Jets find a way to keep him around because he's a good fit in Chan Gailey's system...and the other QBs out there aren't great options.

Broncos | Denver interested in Ryan Fitzpatrick    Sun Mar 13, 12:41 PM

The Denver Broncos have had preliminary discusssions with the representatives for free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets), although the club is unwilling to meet his current salary demands, according to multiple sources.

Footballguys view: We know the Broncos QB play wasn't great last year as Peyton Manning was on his last leg and Brock Osweiler learned the ropes. However, adding Fitzpatrick wouldn't be that much of an upgrade. The team has seemingly been in scramble mode since Osweiler chose to sign with the Texans. With a trade for Mark Sanchez, we'd prefer if the Broncos focused on a young passer with a premium pick in the 2016 NFL draft. Stay tuned.

Broncos | Denver has talked to Ryan Fitzpatrick     Thu Mar 10, 06:41 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) has been contacted by the Denver Broncos. The Broncos could pursue Fitzpatrick as a backup plan if they are unable to trade for San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick.

Footballguys view: Moves and counter moves as the Broncos perhaps try to force the Niners into lowering their asking price while Fitzpatrick tries to make the Jets raise their offer. The Niners can afford to pass on the trade and New York seems content to enter the Geno Smith Era again though, so this could really happen. Fitzpatrick isn't the long term answer for the Broncos but this is a win-now team and he could be a solid fit. If the defense can perform like it did last season, and Demaryius Thomas holds onto his passes, Fitzpatrick might be a good one or two year patch and do enough to make a run in the playoffs.

Jets | NYJ have modest offer to Ryan Fitzpatrick    Thu Mar 10, 05:26 PM

The New York Jets' offer to free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) is a little better than the three-year, $21 million deal that the Philadelphia Eagles gave QB Chase Daniel, according to NFL Media's Albert Breer. The knowledge that Fitzpatrick hasn't had much success outside of New York could lead them to lower the price tag.

Footballguys view: They'll hold fast. While some might question the wisdom of playing this game, the Jets have to be careful with money and know Fitzpatrick is not the future under center. Reports say they are fine going ahead with Geno Smith. If the Broncos acquire Colin Kaepernick or Robert Griffin III, that leaves the Jets and Browns and we're not sure the Browns will go retread yet again. The Jets hold some leverage here and we don't expect them to give it up.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jets far apart in talks    Thu Mar 10, 12:26 PM

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) is far apart in contract talks with the New York Jets, and he's surveying offers on the free-agent market.

Footballguys view: Fitzpatrick saw Brock Osweiler's deal and said "I have to get me one of those" but clearly the Jets are not biting. While he is more proven than Osweiler, Fitzpatrick is older and has less upside. There's no way the Jets want to pay him the $18 million per year Osweiler fetched on the open market. They will continue to play hardball, but in this game of chicken, their backup is Geno Smith, Bryce Petty or a trade for Brian Hoyer. All of which is scary.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick hitting the market    Wed Mar 9, 04:05 PM

New York Jets impending free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will officially hit the free-agent market Wednesday, March 9.

Footballguys view: A team like the Denver Broncos could now be in the mix for Fitzpatrick. We thought the Jets would wrap him up before he hit the open market, but that's not the case. We'll see if they can find a way to get him back in the fold.

New York Jets impending free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is at a standoff with the Jets. New York wants him at a certain price and Fitzpatrick wants more.

Footballguys view: Things may seem out of reach right now, but the market is drying up. We think the two sides find a way to get something done in the near future.

Jets | No Ryan Fitzpatrick deal yet    Mon Mar 7, 02:32 PM

New York Jets impending free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will hit the free-agent market without a deal from the Jets. Fitzpatrick can talk with other teams about potentially signing while gauging his value before re-signing with the Jets or signing with another team.

Footballguys view: We can't see Fitzpatrick moving on, regardless of how far apart the two sides are right now. Both Fitzpatrick and the Jets have a mutual interest in Fitzpatrick returning to New York.
