Cardinals | Fitzgerald upset about his play Thu Oct 1, 10:38 AM
Bob McManaman and Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, report Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said he is upset that he has not been able to play at the level he was at last season so far this year. 'I don't think I'm playing on the same level I was last year. There's definitely a lot of things I need to improve on to get back to playing at that clip. But rest assured, I'll continue to bust my hump to get myself back there,' Fitzgerald said.

Cardinals | Fitzgerald frustrated Tue Sep 22, 09:56 AM
Dan Bickley, of The Arizona Republic, reports the brother of Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald, Marcus Fitzgerald, said via his Twitter account that Fitzgerald was not happy about his role in the offense during Week 2. Fitzgerald caught just four passes in the game. 'Just got off the phone with my brother. He's happy about the win. But PISSED he didn't get the ball thrown to him much!' Marcus Fitzgerald said.
| Our view: Larry Fitzgerald is the ultimate competitor, so it's natural for him to be upset when he's not as involved as he needs to be. Fitzgerald is not a disruptive player, but the Cardinals will get the message here. However, Marcus Fitzgerald probably regrets letting this conversation get out there - either that or he just wanted more followers! |

Cardinals | Fitzgerald held to under 100 yards receiving Week 1 Mon Sep 14, 09:09 AM
ESPN.com reports Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald was held under 100 yards receiving for the first time in seven games in Week 1. Fitzgerald had 71 receiving yards in the game.
| Our view: Nate Clements had the huge job of covering Larry Fitzgerald, and for most of the game he did a good job. Fitzgerald being "held" to 71 yards receiving and a touchdown is about the best a defensive back can do. |

Cardinals | Fitzgerald scores Week 1 Sun Sep 13, 08:40 PM
The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald caught six passes for 71 yards with a touchdown reception Week 1.
| Our view: Fitzgerald was mostly held down, including taking an offensive pass interference penalty, but just like in Super Bowl XLIII, Fitzgerald showed how hard it is to keep him down for an entire game. |

Cardinals | Fitzgerald restructures contract Thu Aug 20, 02:14 PM
Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald has restructured his contract to help the team create some extra salary cap space. The new contract has to do with incentives Fitzgerald might earn this season, which under his old contract would have immediately taken up cap space if reached.

Cardinals | Fitz takes Beanie under his wing Sat Aug 1, 03:42 PM
Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals rookie RB Chris Wells said he spent a lot of time working with WR Larry Fitzgerald during the summer. Wells stayed at Fitzgerald's home, and Fitzgerald helped him learn the playbook. On the field, Wells joined Fitzgerald's training camp in Minnesota.
| Our view: This can only be seen as a good sign for Wells. Fitzgerald is an outstanding talent, but he is also an outstanding worker. If some of that rubs off on Wells, he could be one of the better RBs in the NFL. |

Cardinals | Fitzgerald played in postseason with finger injuries Wed Jul 29, 04:06 PM
Jim Corbett, of USAToday.com, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald played with a broken left thumb and torn ligaments in two other fingers during the team's postseason run last season.
| Our view: This makes his incredible postseason performance even more legendary. |

Cardinals | Fitzgerald feeling good Sat Jul 25, 08:54 PM
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said on his Twitter page that this is the best he has ever felt entering a season. He said he has some new tricks up his sleeve for the upcoming season.
| Our view: Amazingly, Fitzgerald will turn 26 on August 31, so he is smack in the middle of his physical prime. It feels like he must be older because he was 20 when he was drafted. Fitzgerald is the most likely WR to go off the board first at his position, and we can't argue with that. |

NFL | Fitzgerald hosting WR camp Thu Jul 16, 03:53 PM
Jim Trotter, of SI.com, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald is hosting a wide receiver camp in Minnesota and has invited several other NFL players to participate in the camp, which has had former NFL WRs Jerry Rice and Cris Carter as instructors. Among the wide receivers that have been participating are Denver Broncos WR Brandon Marshall, Buffalo Bills WR Lee Evans, Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Michael Clayton, Minnesota Vikings WR Sidney Rice and Cleveland Browns WR Brian Robiskie. Washington Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall, New Orleans Saints CB Malcolm Jenkins, Pittsburgh Steelers TE Matt Spaeth, Arizona Cardinals TE Dominique Byrd and St. Louis Rams LB James Laurinaitis also are attending the camp. Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo may attend the camp next week.
| Our view: Fitzgerald, Jennings, Marshall, and Evans are some of the best wide receivers in the game today so it's nice to see them competing against each other in order to get better. With Jerry Rice and Cris Carter giving pointers the young wideouts can only improve their games. It will be interesting to see if guys like Michael Clayton or Sidney Rice can become consistent receivers in the NFL because of this "All Star" camp they're attending. |

Broncos | Marshall working out with Fitzgerald Thu Jul 9, 01:13 PM
Larry Fitzgerald, on his Twitter feed, reports that Broncos WR Brandon Marshall is now working out with his group that includes Greg Jennings and Michael Clayton, with Jerry Rice giving pointers. Fitzgerald also says "I have news on brandon marshall & what his plans r this season but i cant say! lol"
| Our view: Fitzgerald is being a tease, but we have to assume if Marshall told him he was going to show up to training camp and play out the last year of his contract, then what would the harm be in reporting that? This seems like an indication that Marshall is more likely to hold out, if Fitzgerald's claim is to be believed. |

Cardinals | Fitzgerald fine after making awkward catch Monday Mon Jun 1, 08:22 PM
Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald was OK after making an awkward catch during practice Monday, June 1.
| Our view: Fitzgerald did a split as he landed, his legs twisting as they went in opposite directions. He walked away gingerly with head athletic trainer Tom Reed at his side, but was able to return to action later in the practice. Whew! Larry Fitzgerald owners can breathe a sigh of relief. |

Cardinals | Several veterans present Wednesday Wed May 20, 04:59 PM
Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner, WR Larry Fitzgerald, WR Sean Morey, SS Adrian Wilson and DE Chike Okeafor were present at the team's organized team activity Wednesday, May 20, after being absent Tuesday, May 19.
| Our view: This team doesn't want to go through the Super Bowl losers curse and now that they've been so close to a championship they are going to try even harder to get back and win one. The NFC is setting up to be a brutal conference this season with so many strong teams emerging. |

Bob McManaman, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner, WR Larry Fitzgerald, WR Anquan Boldin and DT Darnell Dockett skipped the start of organized team activities Tuesday, May 19.
| Our view: Both Darnell Dockett and Anquan Boldin are seeking contract extensions and didn't participate in minicamp after telling the coaching staff they had hamstring injuries. |

Cardinals | Fitzgerald to appear on Madden cover Fri Apr 24, 11:45 AM
Confirming a previous report, Kent Somers, of the Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald will appear on the cover of the Madden NFL 10 video game along with Pittsburgh Steelers SS Troy Polamalu.
| Our view: If there's 2 players that could overcome the Madden curse it's Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu. Of course by stating that now I have doomed them! |

Cardinals | Fitzgerald says Boldin wants to stay Tue Apr 21, 12:34 PM
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said during a radio interview with station KTAR in Phoenix that he believes WR Anquan Boldin wants to remain a part of the team, but he also wants to be fairly compensated. 'I don't think he wants to leave, I just think he wants to be compensated according to what he's done on the football field and that's understandable,' Fitzgerald said. ' I don't care what work is; I don't care if you're a school teacher, I don't care if you're a journalist, I don't care if you're a broadcaster --- if you're the best at what you do, you want to be compensated accordingly. I can definitely sympathize for the way he's feeling. I just hope that we can come to a good resolution and everyone can be happy and we can continue to move forward.'
| Our view: It will certainly be a shame if the Boldin/Fitzgerald combo is broken up. If Boldin does get traded Steve Breaston will move into the WR2 spot for the Cardinals. Arizona is hopeful that Early Doucet, their 2008 3rd round draft pick, can move into the WR3 role. |
