Ravens | Three to compete for OLB job Sat Jul 18, 06:00 PM
Baltimore Ravens LBs Tyus Bowser, Jaylon Ferguson and Pernell McPhee will compete for one of the starting outside linebacker jobs during training camp.
Footballguys view: Bowser was a second round pick in 2017 and has the highest ceiling. Ferguson was a third round pick last year and more of a natural sack artist. McPhee has the most experience by far and started seven games for the Ravens last year, but the team might be hoping one of the youngsters steps up and outplays him in camp. |

Ravens | Baltimore sends four to NFI list Thu Jul 18, 05:04 PM
Baltimore Ravens WRs Marquise Brown and Jaylen Smith, LB Jaylon Ferguson and DT Daylon Mack were placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list on Thursday, July 18. Per ESPN's Jamison Hensley, the Ravens typically place players on the NFI list when they fail the conditioning test that's required to participate in training camp.
Footballguys view: Last month, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he hoped Brown would be ready for the start of camp. Brown is recovering from the Lisfranc surgery he had back in February. Most reports indicate Brown is going to be back before Week 1 but he could miss at least a couple of weeks in training camp. The speedy first-round pick could be a big weapon in the Ravens passing game this year. |

Louisiana Tech DE Jaylon Ferguson has 22 pre-draft visits scheduled. Ferguson was prohibited from fully participating at the NFL Combine after it was revealed that he was involved in a simple battery conviction during his freshman year. He was also charged with public intoxication while in college.
Footballguys view: It's plain to see that several teams want to take a longer look at the potential first-round pick. Ferguson is 6'5" 271 pounds and can get after the passer with length and burst. He finished his college career with the most sacks (45) in FBS history. |
