Browns | Baker Mayfield is Favre 2.0? Sun Jul 21, 04:00 PM
Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield was likened to former NFL QB Brett Favre, by Favre himself. 'There's no question that the sky is the limit for Baker,' Favre said. 'And, yeah, I think his style of play, and I've heard the same thing about (Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick) Mahomes, and I agree with both, that their styles of play - if you had to pick a former player - would certainly match up to my style.' Favre complimented Mayfield's demeanor and improvisation in particular.

Eagles | Caron Wentz draws Brett Favre comparison Thu Apr 28, 10:44 PM
Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz has a lot of the same characteristics, including the aggressive style, of retired QB Brett Favre, head coach Doug Pederson said Thursday, April 28.
Footballguys view: Well, we won't get carried away with the comparisons right now. We will say that he has fallen into a great situation even if he needs to start right away, as Wentz will be behind a great offensive line with a coach who can work him into the right system. |

Packers | Will retire Brett Favre's jersey Sun Aug 3, 09:21 PM
The Green Bay Packers will retire retired QB Brett Favre's jersey, but the date of the ceremony is not known at this point, according to a source. The team will also induct Favre in their Hall of Fame in 2015.
Footballguys view: It's good to see the Packers and Favre kiss and make up. He's one of the best to ever play the game, and most will remember him for his heroics in Green Bay. |

Packers | Won't retire Brett Favre's jersey yet Fri Jul 11, 11:11 AM
The Green Bay Packers will not retire former QB Brett Favre's jersey in the near future. They eventually want to, but Favre and the team worry about the negative reception he may receive at Lambeau Field. Favre may appear at a home game this year in some fashion.
Footballguys view: It will happen soon enough. Favre and the Packers have essentially made up after he moved on in free agency years ago. Nobody will ever wear no4 for the Packers again. |

Rams | Brett Favre declines Thu Oct 24, 08:22 AM
The St. Louis Rams contacted retired QB Brett Favre (Vikings) about coming out of retirement to play for the team, but he declined.
Footballguys view: It seems insanely lazy on the part of any GM to reach out for an aging Favre who has been out of football for some time. Yes, the talent out in the free agent market is low and there aren't a lot of teams with quality backups to trade at a reasonable price. Still, going back to the Favre Well is just a poor idea and courted disaster. |

NFL | Brett Favre not returning Sat Sep 28, 09:05 AM
Retired QB Brett Favre (Vikings) said he has no plan to return to the NFL, and that he is happy coaching high school football.

Broncos | Lucky seven for Peyton Manning Fri Sep 6, 04:10 AM
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning tied an NFL record with seven touchdown passes against the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, Sept. 5. Manning becomes the sixth player to throw for that many, and the first since Joe Kapp on Sept. 28, 1969. Manning, a four-time MVP, also tied Brett Favre's NFL record with his 23rd career game with at least four TD throws, and Drew Brees' mark with his seventh career five-TD performance.

Vikings | Brett Favre returned for the money Sat Jul 21, 10:35 AM
Former NFL QB Brett Favre said the reason he decided to forgo retirement in 2010 and return to the Minnesota Vikings was due to financial reasons. 'The money was too good,' Favre said. 'I hate to say it's about money, but I felt the money was a lot.' The Vikings lured Favre back for a 20th season with a contract worth upwards of $20 million.

Redskins | Brett Favre a fan of Robert Griffin Sat Jun 23, 09:31 AM
Retired NFL QB Brett Favre said he would choose Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III over Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck if he were starting a team. 'Griffin, he's smaller, but if I was starting a team, I'd probably of went with RG3 just because, if they can't protect you, you got to protect yourself,' Favre said.
Footballguys view: Griffin is certainly a gunslinger like Favre was during his heyday. He was the best deep thrower in the 2012 NFL Draft, and has incredible accuracy downfield on bucket throws. If you wait on QB in your fantasy draft we suggest adding RG3 in the 8th or 9th round. He could be the lead guy in your QBBC, and is likely to start most weeks. |

But that's football,' Favre said. 'The only thing that really pisses me off about the whole thing is we lost the game. That's the thing about that day that still bothers me. NFL | Brett Favre happy in retirement Tue Feb 7, 08:34 AM
Former NFL QB Brett Favre said he did not miss playing football this past season. 'It went a lot smoother than the previous three or four years,' Favre said. 'At the end of last season, I'd said in years past that I knew. I really knew this time. I got beat up a little bit physically, but I still felt like I could still do it, but I just felt like it was time ... Mentally, I was just burned out. This season, being removed and having a bird's eye view but not being involved was eye-opening because I didn't miss it a bit.'

Footballguys view: Favre is crazy enough to come back (again) if the situation was right. NFL.com's Gil Brandt commented a week ago how he felt Favre could make a return to the league in 2011. As of right now FavreWatch is not on, but that could change - especially after the season starts and Favre gets the itch to play again. |

NFL | Could Brett Favre return? Thu Jul 7, 11:35 AM
Retired QB Brett Favre hasn't made any indication that he's pondering a return for a 21st NFL season. However, there remains speculation Favre might have one more comeback attempt in him. Favre's interest in mentoring Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton indicates he still has the bug to return. The Seattle Seahawks could be a potential destination should Favre decide to return.
Footballguys view: Favre can play at a higher level than some of the QBs slated to start right now, so if the game still seems fun to him, he should return. He should not, however, expect the football media to hang on his every word and action as they have in the past. |
