The Green Bay Packers considered signing free-agent RB Willie Parker (Redskins), as well as Justin Fargas (Broncos), Kolby Smith (Chiefs) and J.J. Arrington (Eagles), reports Tom Silverstein, of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. However, general manager Ted Thompson viewed them as poor fits for the team's zone running game.

Footballguys view: The Packers now how to find RB talent that fits their system. Dynasty owners should certainly keep an eye on rookie Dimitri Nance.

Footballguys view: Fargas was released by Denver earlier this week, but didn't look very good in his limited playing time during the preseason. It looks as though Fargas is still favoring his injured knee, and isn't quite 100 percent healthy.

Denver Broncos RB Justin Fargas hopes to see some action during the team's preseason game Sunday, Aug. 15, reports Jeff Legwold, of The Denver Post.   Broncos | Justin Fargas signed    Wed Aug 11, 10:52 AM

The Denver Broncos have signed free-agent RB Justin Fargas (Raiders), according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Fargas was signed because of all the injuries to the Broncos backfield, and could help the team at the beginning of the season if Knowshon Moreno (hamstring) and Correll Buckhalter (neck/back) are slow to recover. He will share snaps in the preseason with LenDale White and undrafted rookie Toney Baker.

Broncos | Could sign RB Justin Fargas    Tue Aug 10, 06:10 PM

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer for Footballguys.com, reports the Denver Broncos could sign RB Justin Fargas (Raiders) if he passes a physical. According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter Fargas is flying to Denver tonight and a deal could be coming soon for the veteran back.

Footballguys view: Unlike LenDale White, Fargas could help the team early in the season. Correll Buckhalter has a back/neck injury that he's seeing a specialist for. Knowshon Moreno has a partially torn hamstring injury, and may miss the entire preseason because of it. White was signed last week to help out the RB depth, but he's missed practice time due to cramps and is suspended the first four games of the season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

The roster already includes Ahman Green, Charles Grant, Andrew Walter, Fred Smoot, Chike Okeafor, Robert Ferguson, Ronald Curry, Chris Brown, Shawn Andrews, Craphonso Thorpe, Wendell Bryant, and Devard Darling.

Footballguys view: That Nighthawks (doesn't that sound like a new comic book movie?) team looks pretty good on paper. Fargas could be an important pick for the tens of fans that are playing UFL fantasy football.

Eagles | Fargas to visit    Thu Mar 11, 05:24 PM

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced they will meet with unrestricted free-agent RB Justin Fargas (Raiders) Friday, March 12.

Footballguys view: Fargas is exactly the type of running back Andy Reid and company are looking to add. He's a veteran who is a savvy runner and can be used effectively as a receiver out of the backfield. Injuries have always been a concern with Fargas, and the Eagles may decide to go with a younger back in the draft.

49ers | Interested in Fargas?    Mon Mar 8, 10:26 AM

David White, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports the San Francisco 49ers have been in contact with free-agent RB Justin Fargas (Raiders).

Chiefs | Scheduled to meet with Fargas    Mon Mar 8, 10:22 AM

David White, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports free-agent RB Justin Fargas (Raiders) has a visit scheduled Tuesday, March 9, with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Footballguys view: The Chiefs are looking for veteran depth in their RB corps, and the playbook wouldn't have to change much if Fargas enters the game. Jamaal Charles had a fantastic season last year on a limited number of carries, but the Chiefs want to keep him healthy by having another back to rotate in from time to time.

Raiders | Interested in Tomlinson?    Mon Mar 8, 10:18 AM

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports it would not be a surprise if the Oakland Raiders were to show interest in free-agent RB LaDainian Tomlinson (Chargers), particularly after the release of RB Justin Fargas.

Footballguys view: Tomlinson would be the most proven back on the Raiders roster, and would be able to stay in the AFC West - where he could take his anger out on the Chargers twice a year. We don't think LT has much left in the tank, but he could be a valuable mentor to young backs Darren McFadden and Michael Bush.

Raiders | Fargas released    Sat Mar 6, 06:34 PM

Adam Schefter, of ESPN, reports the Oakland Raiders have released RB Justin Fargas.

Raiders | Bush to start in Week 11    Sat Nov 21, 10:06 AM

David White, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush will remain the team's starting running back in Week 11. However, head coach Tom Cable is expected to go with the hot hand in a rotation with RBs Darren McFadden and Justin Fargas.

Footballguys view: Don't get too excited Bush owners - White said he still expects the "hot hand" approach, which means this situation will remain a moving target regardless of who starts. Bush did run with good pad level and power vs. the Chiefs, although he yielded to Justin Fargas at the goal line after his 60-yard run early in the game. He has the most value of any Raiders back, but that could change if Darren McFadden breaks off a few long runs of his own vs. the Bengals.

Footballguys view: Fargas is running with more urgency than Michael Bush, and that is one of the reasons he's been more impressive on gameday. Like others before him, Bush may have to go to a different team to get a fresh start if things don't turn around for him in Oakland.
