NFL | Mike Evans, DeVante Parker moved the chains    Thu Mar 26, 11:02 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans picked up a first down on 54 of his 67 catches in 2019, while Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker did so on 58 of his 72 receptions. The resulting 80.6 percent first-down rate for both players led the league among players with at least 50 receptions.

Footballguys view: Evans and Parker should continue having big roles for their respective teams going forward. We'll see Evans instantly become a favorite target for QB Tom Brady while Parker is going to continue to do work with Ryan Fitzpatrick...until the Dolphins turn the reins of the offense over to a rookie quarterback like Tua Tagovailoa.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans nearly unstoppable in close    Tue Mar 24, 11:43 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans managed to catch only four of his 10 targets inside the 10 last season, but he was able to score on each of them.

Footballguys view: Tom Brady's favorite target near pay dirt should be Evans in 2020. The Buccaneers are going to continue to feed Evans so he'll get his 1,000 yards receiving and be one of the most fantasy relevant WRs in 2020.

Buccaneers | Tampa Bay's Tuesday practice report    Tue Dec 17, 04:55 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers DL Beau Allen (ankle), OT Demar Dotson (non-injury), WR Mike Evans (hamstring), WR Chris Godwin (hamstring), TE Tanner Hudson (concussion), OT Donovan Smith (ankle, knee) and S Jordan Whitehead (hamstring) did not practice Tuesday, Dec. 17. PK Matt Gay (groin), C Ryan Jensen (elbow) and QB Jameis Winston (thumb, knee) were limited. LB Anthony Nelson (hamstring) and LB Jason Pierre-Paul (knee) practiced in full.

Footballguys view: The Bucs WR position is incredibly thin right now with both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin likely out for Week 16. That makes Breshad Perriman a must-add on waiver wires, especially after his three-touchdown performance in Week 15.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans done for season    Wed Dec 11, 03:02 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (hamstring) will miss the remainder of the 2019 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Footballguys view: It was just a matter of time before this expected news hit the wire. The Bucs have Chris Godwin as their top target now. Evans finishes over 1,000 yards again, joining only Randy Moss in NFL history as wide receivers who began their careers with six-straight seasons exceeding that total. He's under contract through the 2023 season but it will be interesting to note who his quarterback is with the Bucs next year.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans' season likely over    Mon Dec 9, 10:07 AM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (hamstring) is likely out for the season as head coach Bruce Arians said he'd be shocked if Evans returned.

Footballguys view: The team is going to call him week-to-week with this hamstring injury. Evans might not be able to return this year, but he's already compiled over 1,000 yards on the season for the sixth consecutive season (every year he's been in the NFL). Chris Godwin, Breshad Perriman, and Justin Watson will get more work with Evans missing time.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans caught four passes for 50 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12. He was targeted eight times during the game.

Footballguys view: Evans and Chris Godwin have been trading off huge games all year and this week was no different. Next week against Jacksonville could be Evans turn, and he is still impossible to bench as long the Bucs defense and Jameis Winston make for combustible passing game numbers game scripts.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans posts 96 yards    Sun Oct 13, 02:03 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans caught nine passes for 96 yards against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6. He was targeted 17 times during the game.

Buccaneers | Targeting Mike Evans a priority    Fri Oct 11, 12:36 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is coming off a reception-less game in Week 5, and QB Jameis Winston says that has to change. 'Bottom line, to win football games, we've got to get Mike Evans the ball,' Winston said Thursday, Oct. 10.

Footballguys view: Evans has a tough matchup that held him to 4-61 in the first meeting this year, but it will be very difficult to bench him knowing this priority has been voiced.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans invisible in Week 5    Sun Oct 6, 07:35 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans posted no receptions or offensive statistics on three targets in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints.

Footballguys view: Marshon Lattimore did his job well, but that's no reason to bench DJ Chark next week or Evans when these teams meet again in Week 11. We've got to keep Evans in our lineups next week even though he was a quiet 4-61 against them in the first matchup.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans returns to practice    Mon Aug 26, 11:38 AM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (leg) returned to practice Monday, Aug. 26.

Footballguys view: Evans did not play in last week's preseason game as the Bucs are being wisely cautious with their star receiver. Fantasy GMs are excited about what he can do under new head coach Bruce Arians. Projecting him for another 80-90 catch season seems fair, and Evans has never had a year in the pros without 1,000 yards receiving. Evans has a fair ADP at WR8 (2.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Chiefs | Tyreek Hill created big plays in 2018    Thu Jul 4, 03:29 PM

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill led all receivers with an 11.47 yards per target average in 2018, according to Pro Football Focus. Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans ranked second at 11.29, while Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton and Los Angeles Rams WR Brandin Cooks tied for third at 10.95. Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones rounded out the top five at 10.10.

Footballguys view: At the end of June, Hill had a meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and now we wait for any sort of suspension to be handed down. An anonymous Chiefs official believes any Tyreek Hill suspension would be a "maximum" of four games. Most expect the league to make a decision on Hill before the start of training camp.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans has hamstring issue    Thu Jun 6, 11:34 AM

Updating previous reports, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (hamstring) missed the three-day minicamp with a tweaked hamstring.

Footballguys view: It is at least a positive sign that Evans was seen jogging off to the side of the practice field with trainers. Evans is the primary target in the Bucs passing game, a fantasy favorite and a no-brainer WR1 in 2019. He's currently WR8 (2.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Footballguys view: The word is that Evans should be held out of minicamp. That means we'll see him when training camp rolls around. The injury is undisclosed so nothing specific to watch for here, other than his participation when he gets back to practice. Evans is WR8 (2.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans excited about new coach    Thu Jan 24, 06:59 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans said he is excited about playing in the offensive scheme that head coach Bruce Arians will bring to the team.

Footballguys view: All Bucs skill position players (and Fantasy GMs) should be excited about what Arians can do with that offense. Evans has been a top-12 fantasy wide receiver in three of the five years he's been pro (including 2018 when he ranked 6th). He should be a WR1 once again in 2019 with Arians running the show.

Footballguys view: Evans didn't have the huge game he posted against the Saints in Week 1, but he did well enough considering Jameis Winston slowing down in the second half. Next week against the Ravens will be another boom/bust play with smaller boom possibilities, but Evans still belongs in lineups.
