The Associated Press reports Chicago Bears DE Mark Anderson, S Josh Bullocks, DT Dusty Dvoracek, S Danieal Manning and LB Jamar Williams could become restricted free agents this offseason if there is no salary cap in 2010.

Neil Hayes, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports former Chicago Bears DT Dusty Dvoracek was arrested Saturday, Jan. 16, and charged with public intoxication, assault and battery and interfering with an official process, according to OKBlitz.com. He reportedly hit a security person after being asked to leave an establishment.

Updating previous reports, Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said DT Dusty Dvoracek (knee) underwent surgery Friday, Aug. 28, to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament. It is the fourth straight season Dvoracek will be placed on Injured Reserve.

Larry Mayer, of ChicagoBears.com, reports Chicago Bears DT Dusty Dvoracek (knee) is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery Friday, Aug. 28, to determine the severity of his knee injury. If he has a torn anterior cruciate ligament, it will be repaired during the surgery.

Updating a previous report, Vaughn McClure, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said DT Dusty Dvoracek (knee) has been diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral ligament but said more tests need to be done on Dvoracek's knee. Smith would not rule Dvoracek out for the season at this point.

Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears DL Dusty Dvoracek (knee) will miss the 2009 season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, a source close to the player said. It's the fourth straight season-ending injury for Dvoracek.

Larry Mayer, of ChicagoBears.com, talked to new defensive line coach Rod Marinelli recently about his players. Marinelli on DT Tommie Harris: "He's one of the key spokes in the whole defense". Highlights include Marinelli on DE Adewale Ogunleye: "a veteran who's in tremendous shape." Marinelli on DT Marcus Harrison: "His potential is out of this world. He is a big, athletic man who moves well. He wants to be really good and he works hard." Marinelli also commented on DT Dusty Dvoracek, DL Israel Idonije, and DT Jarron Gilbert.
| Footballguys view: The Bears defensive line was pretty quiet last year from a fantasy perspective, but that could all change with the addition of Marinelli, who was a terrific defensive coach during his time at Tampa Bay. We would be more inclined to take a chance on Harris in DT required leagues than we were before the Bears hired Marinelli. |
