Jaguars | Rashad Greene could return punts    Tue Jul 28, 08:25 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Rashad Greene is likely to be the slot receiver, but he'll be in the mix with WRs Tandon Doss and Bryan Walters to return punts.

Footballguys view: We like the rookie fifth-round pick from Florida State. He's an explosive player who can work deep routes. Greene gets by defenders in a hurry, and he does a good job of tracking passes over his shoulder. Greene will drop too many passes, and he needs to be a more refined route-runner if he wants to play up to his potential as a pro.

Jaguars | Tandon Doss could see bigger role    Mon Mar 30, 11:22 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Tandon Doss could be the seasoned veteran general manager David Caldwell is seeking for the team this offseason. Caldwell mentioned Doss and WR Arrelious Benn as in-house veterans as options to fill the team's need for a seasoned receiver.

Footballguys view: Let's not get crazy here. Both Doss and Benn have been in the league for some time, and neither one has done much as a pro. We don't think either player has fantasy value, and even in super deep dynasty leagues their value is almost non-existent.

Jaguars | Tandon Doss injured    Thu Aug 28, 07:06 PM

Jacksonvill Jaguars WR Tandon Doss (ankle) is questionable to return with an ankle injury.

Footballguys view: Doss is another guy who is hurt in a wide receiver corps filled with them. He's got minimal fantasy value and isn't worth a roster spot.

Jaguars | Eight don't travel with team    Thu Aug 14, 06:11 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars LB Paul Posluszny (biceps), WRs Cecil Shorts (hamstring), Allen Robinson (hamstring), Tandon Doss (ankle), Lamaar Thomas (head), CB Deion Belue (back), LB Dekoda Watson (groin) and TE Clay Harbor (calf) did not travel with the team to Chicago and will not play in tonight's preseason game against the Chicago Bears.

Footballguys view: The Jaguars are already one injury away from a *M*A*S*H* episode, so they won't take chances. A week of rest is helpful for any of these guys and if they miss a week, the Jags can save money on plane tickets--after all they have to pay off those pools in the stadium.

Jaguars | Four out extended period of time    Fri Aug 1, 10:21 AM

Updating previous reports, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Robinson (hamstring) and WR Tandon Doss (undisclosed), DT Jordan Miller (undisclosed) and LB John Lotulelei (leg) will miss an extended period of time.

Footballguys view: Robinson is a rookie, so this is a big blow to his ability to make an impact early this year. With Cecil Shorts and Robinson now both ailing, the Jaguars passing game is going to have trouble getting in tune during training camp.

Jaguars | Tandon Doss hurt in practice    Thu Jul 31, 12:42 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Tandon Doss (undisclosed) suffered an injury on the last play of practice Thursday, July 31, and was in a lot of pain.

Footballguys view: The Jaguars wide receiver corps is looking rough. Ace Sanders and Justin Blackmon suspended. Allen Robinson hurt. And now this. No wonder they want to run the ball a ton. Doss isn't fantasy relevant for anything but leagues who give points for punt and kick returns.

Jaguars | Two WRs in mix for punt returner job    Wed Jul 9, 02:25 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WRs Ace Sanders and Tandon Doss will be candidates for the punt return job this upcoming season.

Footballguys view: Sanders was in line for a bigger role in the passing game this year, but the drafting of Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson should keep him in a limited role for the time being. If Cecil Shorts and Lee continue to struggle with injuries, he could be a factor in very deep PPR leagues in time.

Ravens | Tandon Doss will not receive offer    Mon Mar 10, 03:13 PM

The Baltimore Ravens will not tender an offer to restricted free-agent WR Tandon Doss, which will make him an unrestricted free-agent.

Footballguys view: Zero surprise here. Doss has a decent size/speed combination, but his hands and route-running need work. We're not expecting the market to be white-hot for his services.

Ravens | Tandon Doss making strides    Thu Oct 17, 11:47 AM

Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss has had timely receptions and impactful punt returns in the last four weeks. He has as many catches in the last two games as he did in his first two seasons in the league.

Footballguys view: The knee injury to Jacoby Jones gave Doss a second life and he appears to have made the most of it. Last week against Green Bay was a surprise, but not one we expect duplicated.

Ravens | Make roster moves    Mon Sep 9, 12:18 PM

The Baltimore Ravens re-signed WR Tandon Doss Monday, Sept. 9. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. In a corresponding move, the team released LB Robert James.

Footballguys view: Doss was let go during final cuts but is now back because of the knee injury to Jacoby Jones. He's simply added for depth and is not likely to get many snaps or targets for the Ravens. Marlon Brown is the WR2 opposite Torrey Smith.

Ravens | Seven players released    Sat Aug 31, 11:19 AM

The Baltimore Ravens have released WR Tandon Doss, RB Bobby Rainey, TE Billy Bajema, TE Matt Furstenburg, OT Joe Unga, DT Cody Larsen and FS Omar Brown.

Footballguys view: Rainey just doesn't have what it takes to make an impact at the pro level. By cutting Rainey the Ravens are down to only two running backs (Ray Rice, Bernard Pierce) on the roster. Doss was outplayed by veteran Brandon Stokley in camp. He may find catching on with another team difficult.

Ravens | Tandon Doss got looks as third wide receiver    Fri Aug 9, 02:36 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss got looks as the third wide receiver in third down situations in the team's first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Footballguys view: Doss is in a competition with Deonte Thompson for the third wide receiver. Jacoby Jones seems to be the favorite to start at WR2 opposite Torrey Smith this year.

Ravens | Joe Flacco confident despite personnel losses    Wed Aug 7, 12:02 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is confident the team will overcome the offseason departure of WR Anquan Boldin, and loss of TE Dennis Pitta (hip) to injury. WR Jacoby Jones is expected to see plenty of opportunity on the outside with WR Torrey Smith, and Flacco mentioned WRs Tandon Doss and Deonte Thompson as candidates who could step up on the inside. 'I think the one thing that Deonte gives you that you normally don't have in the middle is that speed,' Flacco said. 'Normally, those guys are on the outside. He gives you that speed in there. Tandon is that real strong-handed guy that can go up and make some catches for you. He's got a good feel for how to run the routes in there.'

Footballguys view: The Ravens caught lightning in a bottle last year during their historic postseason run. Without Pitta and Boldin we're going to see a much different offense this year. They should emphasize the ground game more in 2013. This will impact Flacco's passing stats because of the new design of the offense. No WR has cemented themselves as the starter opposite WR Torrey Smith.

Ravens | Tandon Doss could be thrust into third-down role    Thu Aug 1, 09:12 AM

Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss could be thrust into the third-down role at receiver. He has good size and good hands, and he has spent the last two years learning the role.

Footballguys view: Doss can get down the field in the blink of an eye and has the size to be able to outmaneuver smaller defenders for the ball. We'll see if he can become the consistent target the team needs when it's time to move the chains.

Ravens | Jacoby Jones favorite for No. 2 WR    Thu Jul 25, 01:08 PM

Ravens | Tandon Doss could become No. 2 wideout    Thu Jun 20, 12:28 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss frequently ran with starters Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones during last week's mandatory minicamp. It's uncertain whether Baltimore will establish Jones as the No. 2 wideout, which would lessen his duties in the return game, which is a strength of his. Doss still needs to prove himself as an everydown wideout despite the fact he's made a few noteworthy plays in camp.

Footballguys view: Doss has been a disappointment through his pro career but is getting a big opportunity this year. He'll compete with Jacoby Jones to be the WR2 starting opposite Torrey Smith. Deonte Thompson and Tommy Streeter are in the competition as well.

Ravens | Tandon Doss does well during workouts    Fri Jun 14, 05:57 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss looked quicker during minicamp than he was last season and appears to be playing with more confidence. He could compete for a starting job if he continues to make plays during training camp.

Footballguys view: Doss is one of a group of receivers competing for the starting job opposite Torrey Smith. Some feel Deonte Thompson is the frontrunner here but we'll have to wait until training camp to see the pecking order. Doss, Thompson, and Jacoby Jones are all competing for the Ravens' WR2 spot.

Ravens | Jim Caldwell praises Deonte Thompson    Sat Jun 1, 11:30 PM

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell had positive things to say about second-year wide receiver Deonte Thompson, who's expected to be in the thick of the competition for the second and third wideout spots behind Torrey Smith. 'He's a gifted route-runner, and he is getting better,' Caldwell said about Thompson. 'He's young, and he's developing. ... He understands how to sink his hips. He can do a great job of changing direction.'

Footballguys view: Thompson is incredibly fast and some are predicting he has the lead for the team's WR2 job opposite Torrey Smith. We'll see him compete with Jacoby Jones for that job in training camp.

Ravens | Joe Flacco praises young wide receivers    Fri May 24, 02:13 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco praised his young wide receiving core of Tandon Doss, Deonte Thompson and David Reed. 'I haven't heard too much about all that, but I'm excited about who we have,' Flacco said. 'I like the idea of having guys that we've had, we've drafted here or we've picked up here, and grooming them and getting those guys to become great wide receivers. They definitely have the talent to do it. I think we just need to get them some reps. And when I say reps, I mean game time reps, so their confidence can take off.'

Footballguys view: This is an important competition for fantasy owners to watch in training camp. With Anquan Boldin getting traded away to the 49ers it has opened up a spot for a starter opposite Torrey Smith. The Baltimore Sun previously reported that Deonte Thompson may have the inside track on that job.

Ravens | Tandon Doss trying to make most of opportunity    Mon May 13, 06:10 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss is a candidate for a much bigger role in the team's offense after WR Anquan Boldin was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason. Doss should compete for playing time behind WRs Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones and could become the No. 3 receiver. WRs LaQuan Williams, David Reed, Deonte Thompson and Aaron Mellette are the other receiving options that will compete in offseason workouts and training camp. Baltimore is open to signing a veteran wideout to compete in camp, as well.

Footballguys view: Doss is a deep threat who can fly down the field and track the ball. If Jacoby Jones wins the WR2 starting job opposite Torrey Smith then Doss could be considered the favorite to take over Jones' WR3 role.
