Bills | Karlos Williams, Anthony Dixon probable Fri Dec 25, 07:17 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams (shoulder) and RB Anthony Dixon (knee) are listed as probable for the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Williams was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 25, while Dixon fully participated in practice.
Footballguys view: Karlos Williams is an upside flex if not an RB2 because the Dallas Cowboys are unlikely to control this game with a very undermanned offense. |

Bills | Buffalo run game does nothing Sun Oct 11, 08:15 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Dan Herron carried nine times for just 28 yards in the Week 5 game against the Tennessee Titans, and RB Anthony Dixon ran seven times for 19 yards.
Footballguys view: The Bills running game was anemic without LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams and they might be without both of them again next week against the Bengals. Neither earned any waiver condition for Week 6. |

Buffalo Bills RBs LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Karlos Williams (concussion) both missed practice again Friday, Oct. 9, and have been ruled out for Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans.
Footballguys view: Williams is still in the concussion protocol. RB Anthony Dixon is likely to start against the Titans, but RB Dan Herron could see a heavy workload. |

Bills | Anthony Dixon likely the Week 5 guy Wed Oct 7, 11:11 AM
Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon will likely be the main running back against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5, according to head coach Rex Ryan
Footballguys view: We see Dixon as an RB3 this week if that is the case. The matchup is OK, but the offensive line and Dixon's own limitations are a concern and give him a lower ceiling than Karlos Williams has. |

Bills | Karlos Williams day-to-day Tue Oct 6, 12:20 PM
Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams (concussion) is listed as day-to-day and must be cleared from the NFL-mandated concussion protocol before he can play in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans.
Footballguys view: The Bills may turn to Anthony Dixon and Cierre Wood if both Williams and RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) cannot play this weekend against the Titans. General manager Doug Whaley said the team could sign another runner this week, and they could re-sign RB Bryce Brown, who was released last month. |

Bills | LeSean McCoy may be limited Sun Sep 20, 10:59 AM
Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy's (hamstring) injured hamstring is not 100% at this point, so McCoy is not expected to receive his normal workload against the New England Patriots in Week 2. RBs Karlos Williams and Anthony Dixon likely will receive more snaps if McCoy is limited.
Footballguys view: Karlos Williams is a boom/bust flex play, and maybe a better play than McCoy this week. McCoy looked very limited last week and that was before having a setback with his hamstring on Thursday. |

Bills | Concern LeSean McCoy won't be ready? Wed Sep 2, 12:32 PM
Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) seems to be in some danger of missing the season opener Sept. 13. 'Well we certainly expect him to be ready to go, I hope,' coach Rex Ryan said Monday, Aug. 31. 'If not then the next man has to step up. Boobie (Anthony Dixon) got a lot of reps out there today. Bryce Brown got a lot of reps today. So we will see. I am not going to put that all on one man. If he is not ready to go, he won't be in there.'
Footballguys view: The Bills earlier expressed confidence that McCoy would be ready to start the regular season. Now, it seems like he's in danger of missing the season debut. Stay tuned as we will know more about his availability next week in practice. |

Bills | Two Bills RBs return Thu Aug 27, 12:16 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Bryce Brown (hamstring) and RB Anthony Dixon (calf) returned to practice Thursday, Aug. 27.
Footballguys view: Mostly depth backs, the Bills could find themselves in need of one or both, considering both Fred Jackson and LeSean McCoy's propensity to get banged up. Neither one is anything but a deep, deep bench warmer though and unless there is an injury, they aren't worth having on the roster. |

Bills | Two Bills RBs out of practice Mon Aug 17, 04:28 PM
Buffalo Bills RBs Fred Jackson (hamstring) and Anthony Dixon (calf) did not practice Monday, Aug. 17.
Footballguys view: It seems like everyone outside of LeSean McCoy is dinged up in the Bills backfield. Jackson has barely practiced since the start of training camp, and he's in danger of losing the RB2 job in Buffalo to rookie Karlos Williams. |

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon (calf) could miss a month of action after he suffered a strained calf muscle in practice this week, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Bills | Anthony Dixon has knee surgery Wed Jan 28, 02:18 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon (knee) underwent surgery for a partially torn meniscus in his knee Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Footballguys view: This is just a minor procedure which should not keep Dixon from participating once training camp rolls around. We're sure the Bills will ease him back in at that time. Our very own Dr. Jene Bramel says this, "Since he played through injury and has reportedly already started rehab, it's probably relatively minor and they chose the procedure with the shorter of the two recovery periods." |

Bills | Anthony Dixon, Bryce Brown shared work Mon Nov 17, 02:46 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon played 33 offensive snaps in the team's Week 11 game, while RB Bryce Brown received 28 offensive snaps.
Footballguys view: Those numbers will change this week. Fred Jackson will return to the lineup after missing the Week 11 game because it was on Thursday night. The extra bit of rest could help Jackson look better than he did in Week 10. |

Bills | Anthony Dixon leads backfield Thu Nov 13, 11:43 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon carried the ball a team-high 10 times in the team's Week 11 game Thursday, Nov 13. He finished with 35 yards rushing and also caught two passes for 13 yards.
Footballguys view: Dixon did not get any goal line opportunities, as the Bills offense stalled out in the red zone for the second straight week. Fred Jackson should be back next week, and the matchup against the Jets isn't good for a power back like Dixon anyway. He can probably be dropped in all but the deepest leagues. |

Bills | Anthony Dixon keeps legs moving Mon Nov 10, 10:22 AM
Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon is fifth in the NFL with 2.31 yards per carry after contact this season.

Bills | Anthony Dixon starting Sun Oct 26, 12:09 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon will start for the team Sunday, Oct. 26.

Bills | Anthony Dixon working with starters Wed Oct 22, 01:53 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon is working with the starters in practice Wednesday, Oct. 22. RB Bryce Brown is working with the second-string offense.
Footballguys view: Those rushing out to get Brown on the waiver wire may be chasing fool's gold. Sure, Brown is an incredibly talented runner, but he lacks discipline and tries to bounce too many runs outside. Dixon is more of a disciplined runner, and he should be the lead back while Fred Jackson is out. |

Bills | Anthony Dixon likely the guy Wed Oct 22, 10:26 AM
The Buffalo Bills love RB Anthony Dixon, and he's likely to lead the way at running back over RB Bryce Brown.
Footballguys view: Fantasy owners need to realize this Bills RB situation will be split between two backs. Dixon is a power back with determination in the middle of the line. Brown is a more explosive player, but he lacks discipline as a runner and tries to bounce too many runs outside. |

Footballguys view: Dixon will get a chance to make his mark next week, along with Bryce Brown, although they draw the tough Jets run defense. Both should be lower on your waiver priority list than Tre Mason or Denard Robinson. |

TE Lee Smith (toe) did not practice and is doubtful.

Footballguys view: The defense should be the one thing this team can count on, but it doesn't look that way given some of the injuries. The good thing is Gilmore's return as the Bills will need a ton of help facing Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. This looks like a bad opening weekend for the Bills though. |

Bills | Anthony Dixon exits Thu Sep 4, 02:08 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon (hamstring) left practice early Thursday, Sept. 4, with a hamstring issue. Head coach Doug Marrone said the injury is a concern for Week 1.
Footballguys view: While it's an overall concern, it won't impact fantasy much as C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson will carry the load. Spiller is a decent RB2 and Jackson can fill in as a low-end RB2/flex. |

Bills | Anthony Dixon No. 3 back on depth chart Mon Jul 28, 10:05 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon was listed as the No. 3 back on the team's first official depth chart with RB Bryce Brown listed as the No. 4 back.
Footballguys view: Interesting note here. The Bills traded for Brown, and he could be the lead back next year if C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson move on in free agency after this year. Dixon is a running back/fullback 'tweener and has decent power between the tackles. We'll see if he can hold off Brown during the rest of camp. |

Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson and RB Anthony Dixon both reached the second level on runs during team drills Tuesday, July 22, and the team's top four backs all had runs that would have gone for first down yardage.
Footballguys view: The Bills are stacked at the running back position. Dixon is the forgotten fourth-string back behind Jackson, C.J. Spiller and Bryce Brown. We'll see if they have to lean on Spiller and Jackson, or if they can jump start the passing game led by E.J. Manuel this year. |
