Seahawks | Will Dissly to undergo surgery    Wed Oct 16, 02:43 PM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (Achilles) is scheduled to undergo surgery Thursday, Oct. 17, to repair his torn Achilles tendon, according to sources. He is expected to be ready for the 2020 season.

Footballguys view: That's two years in a row that Dissly's season ends on Injured Reserve...the only two years of his career of course. We'll see how Dissly bounces back next season. He was known as a blocking tight end at the University of Washington and has done a great job transforming his game into more of a receiving threat. We are wishing him the best and look forward to his return in 2020.

'Really unfortunate that we lose Will Dissly, who has been a fantastic part of our team,' head coach Pete Carroll said Monday, Oct. 14. 'Just a young guy, but he's made a big impression early on all of us and we're going to miss the heck out of him as he recovers from an Achilles injury.'

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (Achilles) suffered an Achilles tendon injury during the Week 6 game and will not return.

Collier (ankle), S Ugo Amadi (shoulder), DE Jadeveon Clowney (non-injury), OT Duane Brown (knee), OT George Fant (ankle), TE Will Dissly (knee), DT Quinton Jefferson (hip) and OL Ethan Pocic (neck) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 13, and no longer appear on the injury report.

Footballguys view: Lockett being off of the injury report is a relief after he missed practice on Wednesday. The Steelers secondary is likely to give up a big play or two to him.

Seahawks | Will Dissly good to go for Week 2    Wed Sep 11, 03:57 PM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (knee) is good to go for Week 2, according to head coach Pete Carroll Wednesday, Sept 11.

Footballguys view: On Monday, Carroll revealed that Dissly had suffered a setback from the knee injury that cost him most of 2018. On Wednesday, Dissly is good to go. Alright, that's good news but Fantasy GMs have plenty of other options besides Dissly in Week 2.

Seahawks | Will Dissly back to work    Thu Jul 25, 05:03 PM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (leg) was spotted running routes at practice Thursday, July 25, roughly 10 months after tearing his patella tendon.

Footballguys view: Dissly made an instant impact with a combined 10-6-147-2 receiving line in Seattle's first two games last year (most of that came against the Broncos), but his rookie season ended with a torn patella tendon in Week 4. We'll see if he can be healthy enough to win the top TE spot for the Seahawks in 2019.

Seahawks | Will Dissly expected to have big role    Fri Jun 28, 05:26 PM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (knee) is expected to have a big role in the offense once he is fully recovered from his knee injury, in the opinion of Seahawks.com's John Boyle.

Footballguys view: That could equal some big plays, but he is just a desperation play in a run-first offense. His main contributions will be as a blocker.

Seahawks | Will Dissly the only lock at TE    Wed Jun 19, 02:24 AM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (knee) is the only lock to make the 53-man roster among its tight ends, in the opinion of the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta, who gives the edge to TEs Nick Vannett and Jacob Hollister for the other two spots.

Footballguys view: It's funny that Dissly would be considered a lock for the 53-man roster when he hasn't even recovered from the torn patella tendon he suffered in Week 4 last season. Dissly won't be ready for the start of training camp, but reports indicate that he should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season. When healthy, Dissly will be competing for a reserve or (at most) rotational role.

Seahawks | Will Dissly will be ready for regular season    Thu Jun 13, 03:54 PM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (knee) is expected to be ready training camp but may not be on the field for the first week or so, according to head coach Pete Carroll, who added there is 'no doubt' Dissly will be ready for the regular season.

Footballguys view: Dissly had a mini-breakout last year in the first month of his rookie year...although his best game did come against the Broncos defense who can't cover tight ends for anything. His rookie season ended with a torn patella tendon in Week 4. Dissly won't be ready to begin training camp, but it sounds like he should be ready before Week 1. He's competing for a reserve role this year.

Seahawks | Will Dissly injury update    Thu Jun 13, 02:37 AM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (knee) could be a 'full go' a few weeks into training camp, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Seahawks | Will Dissly should be ready for season    Mon Apr 29, 09:18 PM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (knee) is expected to be ready for the start of the 2019 regular season, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Footballguys view: Dissly only made it through four games as a rookie, but he flashed over the first two weeks of the regular season with six catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns. That type of production is not going to be consistent, but Dissly could be part of the team's rotation at tight end. They recently traded for Jacob Hollister and have other guys there like Nick Vannett and Ed Dickson.

Seahawks | Will Dissly placed on IR    Tue Oct 2, 06:46 PM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Oct. 2. He will have surgery this week.

Footballguys view: Bad news for the 2018 fourth-round pick of the Seahawks. Dissly was making some plays here and there for Seattle and now he's got to be considered questionable for the start of the 2019 season. Nick Vannett gets a larger workload with Dissly out.

Seattle Seahawks TEs Will Dissly and Nick Vannett are on pace for a combined 80 receptions, 1,130 yards and 13 touchdowns, and they could add to their season totals against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4, a team which plays a lot of nickel defense.

Footballguys view: Keep this in mind if you're streaming tight ends or trying to find cheap tournament plays in DFS formats.

Seahawks | Will Dissly makes history in debut    Mon Sep 10, 01:48 PM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly compiled 105 yards receiving and a touchdown on three catches in Week 1 versus the Denver Broncos, becoming the first tight end in NFL history with at least 100 receiving yards and a TD reception in his NFL debut.

Footballguys view: The Broncos historically struggle against the tight end position...and that trend continued on Sunday. Dissly, a fourth-round pick out of Washington in the 2018 NFL draft, was seen mostly as a blocking tight end coming out of college this year. He had a big game for Week 1, but we'll see if Nick Vannett gets more work going foward or if Dissly locks himself into the top tight end spot. We'd caution Fantasy GMs from going nuts about Dissly at this time and remind everyone to start your tight ends against Denver (Jared Cook in Week 2).
