Giants | Chris Davis claimed off waivers Wed Jun 23, 05:16 PM
The New York Giants have claimed free-agent WR Chris Davis (Bengals) off waivers, reports The Star-Ledger's Mike Garafolo.
Footballguys view: Davis was bounced from both the Titans and Bengals squads this year and could have a tough time making the roster with the Giants. He was brought in to compete for a roster spot because of his ability in the return game, and the season ending injury to Domenik Hixon. |

Titans | Davis re-signed Tue Nov 3, 05:25 PM
Terry McCormick, of The Nashville City Paper, reports the Tennessee Titans have re-signed free agent WR Chris Davis. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Davis was released earlier this year after a hamstring injury hurt his performance in training camp. When Davis stayed home instead of traveling with the team to a preseason game he then was arrested and charged with a DUI. Now he's back with the team because of their woeful return game. Davis should get a shot immediately to contribute as a punt and kick returner. |

Titans | Davis charged with DUI Fri Aug 21, 10:35 AM
The Nashville City Paper is reporting Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chris Davis was arrested and charged with driving under the influence early Friday morning, according to Metro Nashville Police.
Footballguys view: Davis didn't travel with the team to Dallas as he was injured, and this certainly won't help his chances to make the final roster. This increases the chances that first-round pick Kenny Britt becomes the #3 wide receiver sooner than later. |

Titans | Davis losing ground to Britt Thu Aug 20, 12:01 PM
Jim Wyatt and Gary Estwick, from the Tennessean, report WR Chris Davis was the No. 3 receiver behind Justin Gage and Nate Washington before a hamstring injury stopped his momentum. He hasn't practiced since getting hurt in the Hall of Fame game on Aug. 9, and rookie Kenny Britt is surging while Davis sits. "I want to be out there so bad,'' said Davis, a fourth-round pick in 2007. "But I want to get right for the season, I guess. So right now I am just trying to mentally just keep in going and make sure I know the plays, all the right spots. Hopefully when I come back I can pick up where I left off."
Footballguys view: It was an unfortunate injury for Davis because coaches were raving about his work ethic and progress before the start of the preseason. Davis can also contribute for the Titans in the return game, and that will help him secure a roster spot as long as he can get back on the field and stay healthy. |

Titans | Work ethic improving for Chris Davis Mon Jun 29, 10:30 AM
Terry McCormick, from the Nashville City Paper, reports that Chris Davis - the third-year wide receiver knows that time is ticking on his Tennessee Titans career. During the team's May and June organized team activities, Davis has not only caught the eye of media onlookers as much improved, but more importantly, the eyes of the coaching staff he needs to impress in order to hold on to his roster spot.
Footballguys view: Offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger believes there's been a change to Davis' work ethic. "I think Chris knows what he's supposed to do now. And I think Chris is working at it," Heimerdinger said. "I'm not sure Chris worked at it last year. I think he just kind of took it and said, 'OK, I'm not in the top three.' Davis has struggled as both a receiver and a return man so far in his NFL career, but this offseason he has been a standout WR for the Titans. Currently listed as 6th on the depth chart Davis will need to have a good training camp and preseason to make the final roster. |
