Patriots | Britt Davis on roster bubble Sat Jun 30, 11:32 PM
New England Patriots WR Britt Davis, out of football last season until the team added him to the practice squad for the playoffs, has a slight chance of making the 53-man roster in training camp. He has good size at 6-foot-3, making him the tallest receiver on the roster other than WR Matt Roark, and he is relatively young at 26. However, what might work against Davis is the fact he doesn't figure to contribute much on special teams. His closest competition for a roster spot is expected to be WRs Jeremy Ebert, Jesse Holley, Roark and veteran WR Donte' Stallworth.
Footballguys view: Davis made a few plays in training camp and the preseason with the Denver Broncos and has an interesting size/speed combination. He's a decent player but is not much of an interesting deep dynasty prospect. |

Broncos | Make roster moves to get to 53 Sat Sep 3, 02:29 PM
The Denver Broncos have waived QB Adam Weber, RBs Austin Sylvester and Jeremiah Johnson, WR Britt Davis, D'Andre Goodwin, Greg Orton and Eron Riley, TE Dan Gronkowski, OL Stanley Daniels, Adam Grant and Eric Olsen, DL Jeremy Beal, Ronnell Brown, Jeremy Jarmon and DeMario Pressley, LB Alvin Bowen, CB Brandon Bing and S Kyle McCarthy. The team also released WR David Anderson. RB Brandon Minor (undisclosed), WR Jamel Hamler (back) and CB Syd'Quan Thompson (Achilles') were placed on Injured Reserve, ending their 2011 seasons.
Footballguys view: A few surprises here. Many thought David Anderson would make the final roster but he was outplayed in the preseason by Eron Riley. Jeremiah Johnson looked good in training camp but was inconsistent in the team's preseason games. Jarmon was involved in the Jabar Gaffney trade but didn't impress enough to make the roster. Some of these guys will be brought back on the practice squad if they clear waivers. |

Broncos | Tim Tebow organizes workouts Tue May 31, 10:28 AM
Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow organized his own team workouts with fellow wide receivers in Jacksonville, according to a league source. Last week, Tebow flew WRs Brandon Lloyd, Jabar Gaffney and Britt Davis to Jacksonville, put them up in a nearby hotel, and then led a week of workouts.
Footballguys view: Davis was a preseason favorite of Tebow last year and could have a bigger role with the team while Demaryius Thomas recovers from his Achilles' injury. Even though Kyle Orton is still on the roster many believe he'll be traded and Tebow will take over as the team's starter in 2011. |

Jets | Sign eight more undrafted free agents Wed Apr 29, 06:44 PM
Dave Hutchinson, of the Newark Star-Ledger, reports the New York Jets have signed undrafted free agent S Emanuel Cook (South Carolina), WR Britt Davis (Northern Illinois), S Keith Fitzhugh (Mississippi State), OT Kyle Link (McNeese State), QB Chris Pizzoti (Harvard), DE Zach Potter (Nebraska), FB Brannan Southerland (Georgia) and OT Tavita Thompson (Oregon). Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Chris Pizzoti is an interesting Ivy League prospect. He is a big QB (6'5" 225 lbs) and is accurate throwing underneath routes. Brannan Southerland helped lead the way for Knowshon Moreno at Georgia. He is a traditional FB with a nose for the end zone and good lead-blocking ability. Zach Potter might as well be called a batted pass specialist. He was at the Texas Vs The Nation game and was swatting passes down at the line of scrimmage multiple times in practice. |
