CBs Brent Grimes (groin) and De'Vante Harris (hamstring) did not practice Friday. Sept. 7, and are listed as doubtful. Stewart (foot) also participated fully in practice Friday and were removed from the injury report. DE Vinny Curry (personal) did not practice Friday but also no longer appears on the injury report.

Footballguys view: Grimes being out could make the Saints passing game even more potent and allow Ted Ginn or rookie Tre'Quan Smith to get behind the secondary for a big score. Smith could be a game-time decision and will be needed against Cam Jordan and the Saints pass rush.

Eagles | Vinny Curry probably will not return    Wed Mar 7, 09:16 PM

Philadelphia Eagles DE Vinny Curry likely will released if the team is not able to trade him.

Footballguys view: That was clear when the team traded Seattle for DE Michael Bennett. The Eagles are in penny-pinching mode after winning the Super Bowl and releasing Curry would free up $5 million in cap space....and cause the Eagles to carry $6 million in dead money.

Eagles | Vinny Curry in a prove-it season    Tue Jul 18, 10:29 AM

Philadelphia Eagles DE Vinny Curry is entering a pivotal year with the club as they could cut the 29-year-old next offseason and save $5 million in cap space.

Footballguys view: Curry was supposed to do more last year, but he registered only 2.5 sacks and fell out of favor with the coaching staff. The Eagles added Chris Long in free agency and selected Derek Barnett in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft. Both are signs that Curry's days as a significant contributor with the Eagles are numbered.

Eagles | Vinny Curry had sprained MCL    Mon Jul 3, 04:11 PM

Philadelphia Eagles DE Vinny Curry (knee) suffered and played through a medial collateral ligament sprain last season. Curry aggravated the injury and admitted he was not able to play at full health in 2016.

Footballguys view: The Eagles added Timmy Jernigan and first-round pick Derek Barnett to an already strong defensive line this offseason. Their ability to keep everyone fresh and generate relentless pressure and penetration in Jim Schwartz's defense will increase and possibly push them into the top third of the league. If Curry is better than he was last year, that will only add to their profile.

Eagles | Philly DEs will be part of rotation    Sat Jun 24, 04:14 PM

Philadelphia Eagles DEs Derek Barnett, Brandon Graham, Chris Long and Vinny Curry are expected to be a part of a rotation at the defensive ends spots during the regular season.

Footballguys view: The Eagles have a nice mix of experience and youth at this position. We love the upside of Barnett, one of the most productive players coming out of college in 2017. Barnett finished his college career as the all-time leader in sacks at the University of Tennessee. His technique and hustle could help him make an early impact as a pro.

Philadelphia Eagles DE Vinny Curry (knee) suffered a knee injury during the preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts Saturday, Aug. 27, and did not return. The severity of the injury is not known at this point.

Footballguys view: It sounds like he'll be fine for Week 1. The Eagles defense is switching back to the 4-3 under new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, which should be good for Curry, Brandon Graham and Connor Barwin in a strong DE rotation.

Eagles | Connor Barwin could start    Thu Jul 21, 05:46 PM

Philadelphia Eagles LB Connor Barwin is slated to start at defensive end opposite DE Vinny Curry, according to Phil Sheridan of ESPN.com. DE Brandon Graham could also start instead of Barwin, though. The defensive linemen are expected to rotate frequently no matter who starts.

Footballguys view: Barwin has been solid in his career but the change should suit him in this defense. "I'm excited because in a 3-4, it's a lot of movement," he told Matt Lombardo of NJ Advance Media. "I'm going to line up, pass rush and be able to work a guy over for an entire game. I'm excited for that." We're excited too, though the rotation will hold him back from putting up solid IDP numbers. He may be no more than a DE4 but we like the upside.
