Colts | Antonio Cromartie considered perfect fit    Wed Aug 24, 03:23 PM

Indianapolis Colts CB Antonio Cromartie is a perfect fit for what the Colts look for in a cornerback, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. 'Long, athletic, fast. Ball skills, intelligent, smart, knows the game as well as anybody I've been around,' Pagano said. Cromartie will be eased into practice but it is not known if he will play in either of the last two preseason games.

NFL | Antonio Cromartie may not play again    Mon Jul 25, 05:19 PM

Free-agent CB Antonio Cromartie may not play in the NFL again due to lingering concerns with his hip.

Footballguys view: At this time, Cromartie is insisting that his hip is not a problem and that he has no plans to retire. We'll see if the 32-year old can latch on with a team before the season starts. Perhaps injuries in training camp will get teams interested in the veteran.

Dolphins | Not interested in free agents    Sun Jun 5, 02:46 PM

Free-agent CBs Leon Hall (Bengals) and Antonio Cromartie (Jets) are not being pursued by the Miami Dolphins at this time. They are both on the back burner, however, if Miami should suffer injuries or be disappointed with their young players at the position.

Footballguys view: The Dolphins want to see how Byron Maxwell and Xavien Howard do before adding veterans like Hall or Cromartie. Maxwell comes over to Miami after a horrible season with the Eagles. Howard was the team's second-round pick out of Baylor. If either struggles to impress, then perhaps we'll see the team consider other options.

Cardinals | Antonio Cromartie likely not a target    Sun May 15, 05:02 PM

Free-agent CB Antonio Cromartie (Jets) likely will not be pursued by the Arizona Cardinals, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Josh Weinfuss.

Footballguys view: There could be an opportunity for a veteran CB in the Cardinals starting lineup opposite Patrick Peterson. Justin Bethel could be that guy, but he's coming off April surgery to repair a foot injury. Third-round pick Brandon Williams (Texas A&M) is a raw prospect with starter's upside, but asking him to start early in his career is a stretch.

Jets | Calvin Pace, Antonio Cromartie could return    Sun May 8, 05:51 PM

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles has not ruled out the possibility of the team re-signing free-agent LB Calvin Pace and CB Antonio Cromartie at some point.

Footballguys view: Cromartie was released in February, and there's been no buzz about him connecting with another team. The Jets are more likely to bring Cromartie back to give them veteran depth in the secondary. They could also bring Pace back, but the Jets picked Darron Lee (Ohio State, 1st round) and Jordan Jenkins (Georgia, 3rd round) with premium picks in the 2016 NFL draft.

Jets | Antonio Cromartie released    Mon Feb 22, 01:18 PM

New York Jets CB Antonio Cromartie was released Monday, Feb. 22.

Footballguys view: Clearing up $8 million in cap space, and leaving no dead money, this was a move that we were all anticipating for some time. Cromartie is not the same player he used to be, but some team should give him a shot as veteran depth...and for a lower price. The Jets will turn to Marcus Williams to fill the void.
