Panthers | Two Panthers set free Fri Feb 12, 08:59 AM
Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery and SS Roman Harper's contracts voided Thursday, Feb. 11, and it's unclear if either will continue playing. Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman added three voidable years on the contracts for Harper and Cotchery when he signed them two years ago to spread out their bonus money and lessen the salary cap hit.
Footballguys view: The Panthers will carry a combined $2.25 million in dead money for Harper and Cotchery on the 2016 books. We could see both veterans land somewhere else, but don't expect the market to be white-hot for their services. |

Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery (ankle) is making progress in his recovery from an ankle injury but likely will not return to the field until after the Week 5 bye.

Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.

Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 24.
Footballguys view: Cotchery won't play this weekend and it's hard to see value aside from Greg Olsen (TE1) in the Carolina passing game. Ted Ginn has some potential but he's a risky play and your expectations should have him as no better than a WR6. |

Panthers | Jerricho Cotchery misses practice Wed Sep 23, 06:08 PM
Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Panthers | Jerricho Cotchery has high ankle sprain Mon Sep 21, 01:40 PM
Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain during the team's Week 2 game.
Footballguys view: The Panthers passing game is not overly potent, so most fantasy owners won't be have Cotchery on the roster. Cotchery was able to return to the game after suffering the injury, so the team is hoping Cotchery will be able to play in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints. |

Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery (ankle) suffered a right ankle injury in Week 2 and is considered questionable to return.

Panthers | Jerricho Cotchery injures groin Fri Aug 28, 09:23 PM
Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery (groin) exited a preseason game against the New England Patriots Friday, Aug. 28, with a groin injury and will not return.
Footballguys view: Just what the panthers needed, another injury to a wide receiver. This isn't great news for Cam Newton's production, but it continues our belief that Greg Olsen will be a beast this season and a lock-down TE1. For what it's worth, Cotchery is a shaky WR7. |

Panthers | WR depth shaken up in Carolina Wed Aug 19, 07:00 PM
Carolina Panthers WRs Corey Brown and Jerricho Cotchery are currently the top two wide receivers on Carolina's depth chart, according to Steve Reed of the Associated Press.
Footballguys view: Brown is a speedy guy who can get by defenders. Cotchery is the seasoned veteran who can be reliable underneath. We're not excited by either player's fantasy prospects. Without Kelvin Benjamin, we're avoiding players in the Panthers passing game except TE Greg Olsen. |

Panthers | Jerricho Cotchery may be on bubble Wed Jul 29, 02:52 PM
Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery may have to compete for a roster spot during training camp because of the other players the team has at wide receiver.
Footballguys view: The Panthers added rookie Devin Funchess in the 2015 NFL draft, and that has pushed Cotchery further down the depth chart. We won't be surprised if the team goes in a different direction and Cotchery is eventually cut. |

Panthers | Jerricho Cotchery expected to stick Tue May 19, 09:22 AM
Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery is expected to remain with the Panthers as their No. 3 or No. 4 wide receiver in 2015, according to ESPN.com's David Newton.
Footballguys view: Cotchery's best seasons are far behind him, and he's unlikely to replicate the 10 touchdown season he had in 2013 for the Steelers. However, he does give the team quality veteran depth and a guide for the younger receivers on the roster. |

Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery (hamstring) may sit out practice Thursday, Nov. 13, but he is still expected to play in Week 11, according to head coach Ron Rivera.
Footballguys view: If you're not "All About the (Kelvin) Benjamins" when it comes to Panthers receivers, you're barking up the wrong tree. Jerricho Cotchery is a WR5 at most during just about any week. Benjamin is the play here, as a WR3, while tight end Greg Olsen is a great TE1 each week. |

Panthers | Jerricho Cotchery a sneaky start? Thu Oct 16, 05:48 PM
Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery could be a sneaky start this week if WR Kelvin Benjamin (concussion) is unable to play. Even with Benjamin in the lineup last week, Cotchery saw 10 targets in a tie with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Footballguys view: If Benjamin is scratched because of his concussion, then we like Cotchery as a WR3/flex play with upside. |

Cole, Cotchery and Whittaker did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 19. Avant was limited during practice, while the other players fully participated in practice.
Footballguys view: Cotchery is facing his old mates Sunday night, but he might not get to notch any points on the Steelers. Jason Avant would be a good desperation play in his stead, but he too is banged up. Look for Greg Olsen and Kelvin Benjamin to dominate targets in this one. |

Panthers | Jerricho Cotchery expected to start Sat Jul 19, 10:46 PM
Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery is expected to be one of the starting wide receivers this upcoming season.
Footballguys view: Cotchery is a savvy veteran who can sharply run routes and get open. We're not expecting the Panthers passing game to be that productive, so Cotchery's fantasy value is low. Take a look at him as a reserve receiver (end of the bench) or waiver-wire option in deep PPR leagues. His current ADP is WR65 (14.05) in 12-team PPR leagues. |

Panthers | Not concerned with perception of wide receiver group Fri Jul 11, 01:31 PM
Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery said the wide receivers on the team are not concerned with what the perception is of that group. They are all about working hard and competing.
Footballguys view: It's good that they don't concern themselves with what is being said in the media because it's not good. Carolina has arguably the worst group of wide receivers in the league. They'll be relying heavily on Cotchery and rookie Kelvin Benjamin in 2014. |

Steelers | Going for big-bodied receiver Mon Apr 7, 02:38 AM
With the departure of WR Jerricho Cotchery to the Carolina Panthers, the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to add a big-bodied receiver in the upcoming NFL Draft. Texas A&M WR Mike Evans has been mentioned as a possible pickup if available.
Footballguys view: Evans would be a fantastic pick for the Steelers, but he's likely to be off the board before they pick at 15th overall. If Evans is added, he would instantly upgrade the passing game because of his size/speed combination. He's got star ability and reminds some in the scouting community of Jimmy Graham (Saints). |
