In addition, he is likely to join a contending team. 'It would probably have to be a team that realisitically has a chance of winning this year. Teams that don't have a chance of winning don't sign 33-year-old tight ends,' Cooley said.

Washington Redskins TE Chris Cooley has played just 29 snaps over his first two weeks back with the team as TE Logan Paulsen has been receiving the majority of playing time. Cooley said he does not have an issue with the playing time. 'Honestly, I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to be a part of whatever I can do,' Cooley said. 'Hopefully, for me, it grows throughout the season. But it's a good bunch of guys to be around and a good locker room, and I'm happy to do whatever I can, and if that's just being here and helping with the little details, then I'm happy to do that.' Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan said that game matchups would determine whether or not Cooley saw a spike in playing time down the road.

Instead, Cooley figured he would handle it himself. He didn't think the knee was that bad. 'I feel 100 percent that I'm a casualty for the season of the lockout,' Cooley said. 'I think it was a shame that they didn't let players who had surgery spend time with the doctors and trainers they trust on daily basis, I wish I could have.'
