Footballguys view: Cook has an extra day to clear concussion protocol with the Saints playing Monday night. He's a strong TE1 if he's active but you might need to carry Josh Hill into Monday night if you want to count on him. |

New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook has been seeing 'a lot of looks' from QB Drew Brees during training camp, according to Luke Johnson of USA Today Sports.
Footballguys view: The Saints haven't had a tight end of Cook's caliber since Jimmy Graham, so his upside is unknown. He's worth a TE1 pick after 6-7 of them are off of the board. |
Jared Cook player page

New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook has impressed his new teammates so far in OTAs, with QB Drew Brees near the top of the list. 'I'd read a lot of good things about him before he got here, but he's certainly impressed us these first couple of days,' Brees said Thursday, May 23. 'He's got a great feel for the game, and I think he's going to fit very well in our offense. He's got great length, so he's got a big catch radius. You feel confident with those 50-50 balls. You feel like there's a lot of places where you can throw if where he can get it and the other guy can't. Anytime you have a target like that, you feel like that's a good matchup.'
Footballguys view: Cook is an impressive player but he's never quite played up to his expectations or physical ability. However, he is coming off the best season of his career in the NFL with a Raiders team in 2018 that is nowhere near as dangerous as the Saints squad he's on in 2019. He's currently going off the board at TE8 (6.11) in 12-team PPR leagues. |

New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook will be given the chance to show 'everything he can do' for the offense, according to tight ends coach Dan Campbell. 'The guy is over 30 and he still runs like the wind. He can absolutely smoke,' Campbell said. 'He's got 35-inch arms, he is long, and he is fast.'
Footballguys view: We've seen Cook finish as a top-5 fantasy tight end like he did last season for the Raiders. This is a much better passing game with the Saints, so projecting him for similar output is not outlandish. We like where he's going off the board right now. Cook has a current ADP of TE8 (6.10) in 12-team PPR leagues. |

New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook will sign a 2-year, $15.5 million contract with the team Tuesday, March 25. Cook will receive a guaranteed $8 million in his first year of the deal.
Footballguys view: The Saints get a weapon at the tight end position they haven't had since the days of Jimmy Graham. Cook is big, athletic and creates mismatches anytime he's on the field. His game is not consistent, so we'll see if that can change in New Orleans. Cook may be their third target in the passing game behind WR Michael Thomas and RB Alvin Kamara. |

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Raiders) is expected to sign with the New Orleans Saints Thursday, March 21.
Footballguys view: It looks like this is going to happen. Cook is a receiving weapon with a size/speed combination that is rare. He'd be a great weapon for Drew Brees and the Saints passing attack as they continue to look for impact targets behind Michael Thomas. |

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Raiders) is close to an agreement with the New Orleans Saints, according to a source.

Updating a previous report, free-agent DE Ziggy Ansah (Lions) and free-agent TE Jared Cook (Raiders) visited the New Orleans Saints Thursday, March 14, but left without deals in place.
Footballguys view: We'll see if something can still happen in New Orleans for these guys, but leaving without a contract is not a great sign. Cook is the best free agent tight end on the market but has yet to find a new team. |

Oakland Raiders impending free-agent TE Jared Cook is a player that the Raiders would like to re-sign, but the team may wait to see what he is being offered in free agency before making a final decision on Cook, according to general manager Mike Mayock.
Footballguys view: The crop of free agent tight ends isn't that great, so Cook may get quite a bit of interest. Usually when a team says they'll let a guy hit the open market it really means they're moving on. |

The Buffalo Bills may be interested in signing someone like Philadelphia Eagles WR Golden Tate, Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley or Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook in free agency, in the opinion of Forbes' Curtis Rush.
Footballguys view: The Bills have a young group of receivers, led by Zay Jones and Robert Foster. Perhaps adding some veteran depth to that room would help. They could also use a veteran tight end, perhaps like Cook, since Charles Clay isn't getting any younger. |

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook caught three passes for 71 yards against the NFC in the 2019 Pro Bowl.
Footballguys view: Cook made a great statement going into free agency. He might have been underpaid at five million last year with the desire for his skillset to create mismatches in the passing game. He'll likely be a TE1 heading into next year no matter where he lands, but could hit the jackpot for fantasy if he ends up somewhere like New Orleans or on a Gronk-less Patriots team. |

Oakland Raiders impending free-agent TE Jared Cook will be re-signed if head coach Jon Gruden has his way, but Gruden admitted that Cook will be a popular name on the free-agent market.
Footballguys view: In his second season with the Raiders, Cook had a career high 896 receiving yards and six touchdowns (also a career high). Teams should be interested in the soon-to-be 32-year old target who continues to be one of the more athletic tight ends in the league. |

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook (ribs) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 28, but is not on the injury report for Week 17.
Footballguys view: Cook is a strong TE1 this week despite the dud last week because of the great matchup vs. the Chiefs and high-scoring potential for the game. |
