Redskins | Unsure of QB situation Mon Oct 19, 01:24 PM
Barry Svrluga and Jason Reid, of The Washington Post, report Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn said he is unsure which quarterback will start against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7. QB Jason Campbell was replaced by backup QB Todd Collins Sunday, Oct. 18. 'Right now, I'm going to just evaluate what I'm going on,' Zorn said. 'I still have confidence in what Jason can do.'
| Our view: Coach Zorn said that the decision is entirely up to him, and we think the Redskins could choose not to make that decision public until right before kickoff. Collins didn't exactly blow the competition away when he came in the game, but the Redskins are in a tailspin and at this point are looking for something to mix things up and energize this team. |

Redskins | Zorn still believes in Campbell Sun Oct 18, 05:19 PM
CBSSports.com reports Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn was asked after the team's Week 6 game who the starting quarterback would be going forward. Zorn pulled QB Jason Campbell from the game for QB Todd Collins. Zorn said, "I have to wait and see. I still believe in Jason (Campbell). He missed some passes and didn't look comfortable. We will have to see."

Redskins | Campbell benched vs. Kansas City Sun Oct 18, 02:58 PM
Washington Redskins QB Jason Campbell, after hitting nine of 16 passes for 89 yards with an interception, has been benched for backup QB Todd Collins.
| Our view: The Redskins struggled to move the ball in the first half and Jason Campbell was benched to start the second half. Collins has been effective thus far, but Washington is still struggling to score points. |

Redskins | Collins wins backup QB job Mon Aug 24, 08:08 PM
Jason Reid, of the Washington Post, reports that QB Todd Collins has won the Redskins backup QB job, and Chase Daniel and Colt Brennan will now compete to be the #3. "We saw that Todd was not willing to kind of bow down and give up his No. 2 spot," head coach Jim Zorn said. "So the competition is for the No. 3 spot, and Chase is making a statement about that."
| Our view: Brennan has his cult following, but it doesn't seem like there are any members in the Redskins organization right now. |

Redskins | Lombardi: Collins should be starter at QB Sun Aug 23, 12:46 PM
Michael Lombardi, of the National Football Post, reports that he thinks that Todd Collins gives the Redskins the best chance to win right now, and he, not Jason Campbell "needs to be made the starter".
| Our view: Lombardi has spent a lot of time around the league, and while he is just a commentator at this point, if he's thinking this, then others are too. With the vote of no confidence in Campbell put in by the organization in the offseason, it makes sense that Campbell could be on a short leash. We wouldn't trust him as your backup fantasy QB unless your starter is one of the elite three (Brady/Brees/Manning). |

Redskins | Collins, Brennan competing for No. 2 job Thu Jun 11, 12:07 PM
Matt Mosley, of ESPN.com, reports Washington Redskins QB Todd Collins and QB Colt Brennan are competing for the team's primary backup quarterback job.
| Our view: Collins is the 11-year veteran, and Brennan is the 2nd year QB from Hawaii. Brennan was a record setting QB in college, but looked unimpressive in his final bowl game against Georgia, fell ill during the Senior Bowl which caused him to lose 20 pounds, and thus slipped all the way to the 6th round in the 2008 NFL Draft. He looked good in the preseason last year and the Redskins feel like he's ready to compete for the backup job because Collins can't play forever. |
