San Francisco 49ers WR Austin Collie may not be in the team's plans, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. Branch points out that head coach Jim Harbaugh indicated during training camp that Collie had not fully recovered from a ruptured patella tendon he suffered in 2012.

San Francisco 49ers WR Austin Collie is feeling back to normal after being out since last October. 'My knee's 100 percent as far as healing, as far as being ready to go,' Collie said this week. 'But for anyone who didn't take part in OTAs or have offseason training or anything like that, anyone who sat out that long - 10 months - it takes time.'

Collie has had three serious concussions in his career, and is willing to risk permanent damage to himself to sign with another team. 'I'll sign a waiver, all right?' he said. 'They're not going to have to worry about me suing. I'll hold myself to be accountable.' Collie said he's not at risk for long-term brain issues and has been cleared by several neurologists. He's had trouble finding suitors, but he thinks one team will eventually take a chance on him. 'It would be hard to establish him in a key role due to injuries, but as a fourth wide receiver who could step up in a pinch (this season), there could be some value,' an NFC scout said.
