Eagles | Alex Collins a fit in Philly?    Sat Feb 16, 11:27 PM

Baltimore Ravens restricted free-agent Alex Collins could be a trade target for the Philadelphia Eagles, in the opinion of Bill Barnwell of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: Why trade for him when the Ravens could just let him go? Collins had a breakout season in 2017 but struggled to stay healthy and impress in 2018. There is buzz that the Ravens won't tender him, thus letting Collins hit the open market. If the Eagles were to give up something in a trade it wouldn't be more than a late-round pick.

Ravens | Alex Collins may be let go    Fri Feb 8, 05:29 PM

Baltimore Ravens restricted free-agent RB Alex Collins may not be retained this offseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley.

Footballguys view: After his breakout season in 2017, Collins followed that up with a disappointing year in 2018. He made it through 10 games banged up and averaged only 3.6 yards per carry. The Ravens have guys like Gus Edwards and Kenneth Dixon to tote the rock if they don't keep Collins.

Ravens | No surgery for Alex Collins    Sat Dec 1, 12:05 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) will not need to undergo surgery on his injured foot and should be healthy in the offseason.

Footballguys view: Good news for Collins here. He had a breakout season in 2017 but couldn't stay healthy and match that production in 2018. Collins is a restricted free agent in 2019.

Ravens | Alex Collins placed on IR    Sat Dec 1, 11:22 AM

The Baltimore Ravens placed RB Alex Collins (foot) on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 1.

Footballguys view: Collins sees his season end after 10 appearances where he ran 114 times for 411 yards and seven rushing touchdowns. He also chipped in with 15 catches for 105 yards and one touchdown. The Ravens have seen Gus Edwards emerge as their top running back with Collins banged up. Edwards is hobbled with an ankle injury now (but we expect him to play), leaving guys like Ty Montgomery, Kenneth Dixon and Buck Allen to compete for touches.

Ravens | Alex Collins back at work Friday    Fri Nov 23, 12:11 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 23, after sitting out Thursday, Nov. 22.

Footballguys view: Collins workload is uncertain with Gus Edwards emergence, but he is still worth rostering if benches are deep enough on the possibility that he regains enough of the backfield work to be fantasy relevant. The Ravens running game has been bolstered by the installation of Lamar Jackson.

Ravens | Alex Collins finds end zone    Sun Nov 18, 06:12 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins rushed for 18 yards and one touchdown on seven carries against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11.

Footballguys view: Collins never got back to last year's usage and success and now it appears that Gus Edwards has overtaken him. He can be dropped in short bench leagues. Kenneth Dixon has also been designated for return in bad news for Collins dwindling value.

Ravens | Big game on tap for Alex Collins?    Fri Nov 16, 10:17 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins faces the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, and the Bengals are allowing the second-most rushing yards per game and the fourth-most yards per rush.

Footballguys view: The Ravens should be ready to go after having a bye in Week 10. Collins only had 10 touches for the Ravens in their last game and his role may be adjusted with Ty Montgomery expected to make his debut for the Ravens this week. Even with limited touches, Collins does have a touchdown streak for two games. Collins is a RB2 for Fantasy GMs in Week 11.

Ravens | Alex Collins reaches end zone    Sun Nov 4, 05:08 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins rushed for 35 yards and one touchdown on nine carries against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9.

Footballguys view: Collins was able to get a score to salvage his fantasy day and didn't show any ill effects from the foot issue that cost him practice time earlier in the week. He's a low ceiling RB2 heading into the bye.

Ravens | Alex Collins will play in Week 9    Sat Nov 3, 05:44 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) will suit up against the Pittsburgh Steelers this week despite missing practice time.

Footballguys view: Collins is the lead back for the Ravens but the snaps will be distributed differently this week against the Steelers. The Ravens traded for Ty Montgomery earlier in the week and we're anxious to see how he fits into the RBBC with Collins and Buck Allen.

Ravens | Alex Collins questionable for Week 9    Fri Nov 2, 04:23 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 2, but he is listed as questionable for Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Footballguys view: Collins should be ok against a Steelers defense that has sometimes brought out his best football. He's a boom/bust RB2 play at home.

Ravens | Week 9 injury report for Baltimore    Fri Nov 2, 04:18 PM

Baltimore Ravens OL James Hurst (back), OT Ronnie Stanley (ankle) and LB Tim Williams (ankle) did not practice Friday, Nov. 2 and are ruled out for the Week 9 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. CB Jimmy Smith and LB Terrell Suggs did not practice, but it was not injury related and they're off the report. C Bradley Bozeman (calf), CB Marlon Humphrey (thigh), S Tony Jefferson (hamstring), OL Alex Lewis (neck), LB C.J. Mosley (thigh) were each limited in practice and listed as questionable. RB Alex Collins (foot) practiced in full and is questionable, too, while CB Brandon Carr (not injury related) worked in full and is off the report.

Footballguys view: The Ravens offensive line is in bad shape going into this one. Look for the Steelers to test them with lots of blitzes that will limit the downfield passing possibilities.

Ravens | Alex Collins misses Thursday practice    Thu Nov 1, 01:36 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) missed practice Thursday, Nov. 1, with a foot injury.

Footballguys view: Collins was limited yesterday, so this could be a bad sign. Ty Montgomery just joined the team and they also have power runner Gus Edwards on the roster, but Buck Allen would likely get the majority of work against the Steelers if Collins can't go.

Ravens | Alex Collins limited in practice    Wed Oct 31, 05:47 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Footballguys view: It was a limited practice for Collins on Wednesday, and we'll know more about his playing status on Friday. The Ravens traded for Ty Montgomery on Tuesday, so it will be interesting to see how they split up these touches in the backfield.

Ravens | Alex Collins finds the end zone    Sun Oct 28, 04:23 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins ran 11 times for 49 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Carolina Panthers and he added 14 yards on two receptions and he lost a fumble.

Footballguys view: Collins fumble wasn't totally his fault as Kyle Love blew him up a split second after he got the ball, but the coaches might not see it that way if he keeps fumbling. He is getting the majority of carries now, but the Ravens aren't giving him good game scripts. He'll be a low ceiling RB2 against the Steelers next week.

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins rushed 12 times for a team-best 59 yards in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns and he added one catch for seven yards on four targets.

Footballguys view: Collins looked good, but the Ravens just aren't feeding him like they did in the second half of 2017. He's just a flex play heading into a middling matchup at Tennessee.

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (knee) was held out of practice Thursday, Oct. 4, after being limited Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Ravens | Alex Collins limited in practice    Wed Oct 3, 05:23 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Footballguys view: Collins hasn't appeared on the injury report all year. This doesn't seem like a big deal, so Fantasy GMs should be expecting him out there against the Browns in Week 5. Look at Collins as a RB3/flex option this week.

Footballguys view: The Broncos have a tough run defense, surrendering an average of only 78.0 rushing yards per game (6th lowest). Collins has not seen the field that much due to the gamescript over the last two contests. If the Ravens can keep it close, then Collins should get more work.   Ravens | Quiet night for Alex Collins    Thu Sep 13, 11:57 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins rushed nine times for 35 yards and added three receptions for 55 yards Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Cincinnati Bengals.

Footballguys view: Collins showed great burst on receptions and could have had a huge gain without a stumble on a first half catch. He's more RB2 than RB1 now as game scripts have kept him from getting in a groove. He'll be an RB2/Flex play against the Broncos next week.

Ravens | Alex Collins has an opening    Wed Sep 12, 11:40 AM

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins has an opening to more snaps with RB Kenneth Dixon (knee) out several weeks.

Footballguys view: Collins is the lead back for the Ravens but only got seven carries in Week 1 because they were blowing out the Bills. He'll have a larger workload against the Bengals on Thursday night, and we think Collins can perform like a RB2 or flex play in PPR leagues.
