The Redskins did not practice Thursday, so this is an estimation.

Washington Redskins DT Barry Cofield (groin) will return to the playing field in Week 11 after being activated from the team's short-term Reserve/Injured list earlier this week. Head coach Jay Gruden and defensive coordinator Jim Haslett will reportedly ease him back in. Cofield had groin surgery in September and sports hernia surgery in May of 2014.

You've just got to go out there and work. Our medical staff has been great. They've got a ton of different options. Having this long practice week will give me a lot of time to adjust. I don't think it will affect me. It's not gonna be an excuse for me.' He is not sure if he will need to wear a brace while playing.

Washington Redskins DL Barry Cofield, formerly of the New York Giants, questioned the way the Giants handled some veteran players, opting to part ways rather than re-sign them. The Giants released C Shaun O'Hara and OG Rich Seubert, declined to re-sign LB Chase Blackburn and let TE Kevin Boss and WR Steve E. Smith leave via free agency. 'Some other guys I played with, sweat with and bled with, I don't think it was right, the way things went down with them,' Cofield said. 'A guy that's been there for 10 years like Rich gets hurt and you fire him? That's the best way to put it. And don't forget about Osi (Umenyiora). I don't think that's right either.'

Footballguys view: Washington gets a nice piece to their defensive line here. They also get to steal Cofield away from a division rival. Cofield can eat up space, stuff the run, and take on double teams on the Redskins defensive line.
