Chiefs | K.C. trades for Frank Clark    Tue Apr 23, 01:54 PM

DE Frank Clark was acquired by the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday, April 23, in trade with the Seattle Seahawks. In exchange, Seattle acquired Kansas City's 2019 first-round draft pick and a 2020 second-round selection, according to a source. The teams will also swap 2019 third-round selections.

Footballguys view: The Chiefs effectively dealt Dee Ford and #29 for Frank Clark. Clark is a much better fit in Steve Spagnuolo's 4-3 than Ford, and he's much better vs. the run. The Chiefs are trying to maximize their championship chances during the window of Patrick Mahomes' rookie deal, while the Seahawks are feeling the pain of Russell Wilson's market-setting extension knowing that Bobby Wagner and Jarran Reed also will need new contracts soon. Seattle now has the weakest edge rush group in the league.

Footballguys view: The Jets and the Bills have been linked to Clark, but both of those teams have top-10 picks in the 2019 NFL draft...so trading those picks (no.3 and no.9 respectively) would not make a lot of sense.
