49ers | Tank Carradine signs extension    Tue Sep 6, 09:08 AM

San Francisco 49ers DE/LB Tank Carradine signed a one-year extension Tuesday, Sept. 6, through the 2017 season. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Footballguys view: Carradine is transitioning to outside linebacker, and the 49ers wanted to see at least one more season from the 2013 second-round pick. The team will use him in a rotational role in obvious passing situations.

49ers | Tank Carradine may be pass-rush specialist    Fri Jul 22, 04:49 PM

San Francisco 49ers DE Tank Carradine likely will be used as a pass-rush specialist this season when the team is in their nickel package. There is a chance that he could be in the starting lineup because of LB Aaron Lynch's suspension.

Footballguys view: Lynch is one of the best players on the 49ers defense and clearly their best pass rusher. If Carradine doesn't take a big step forward this year, the lowly 49ers will have even more trouble putting resistance to opposing passing games with an inexperienced secondary and feeble pass rush.

San Francisco 49ers DE Cornellius Carradine (knee) is expected to be part of the defensive end rotation next season if he is healthy enough to return.

Footballguys view: Carradine can be an impact player for the 49ers. He missed his rookie season due to a knee injury, but he'll be good to go this year. Carradine has a nice strength/athleticism combination plus a good closing burst to get after the quarterback.

49ers | Cornelius Carradine expected to be ready    Tue Jan 21, 08:57 PM

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Tuesday, Jan. 21, that DE Cornelius Carradine, also known as 'Tank', is expected to compete for a role in the upcoming season. He will battle DLs Quinton Dial, Tony Jerod-Eddie and Demarcus Dobbs for a job in the offseason. Dobbs is a restricted free-agent in March.

Footballguys view: A great pick for the 49ers if healthy. Carradine has the strength to shed opponents quickly, plus he has the quickness to get after the passer.

49ers | Cornellius Carradine expected to be inactive    Fri Nov 8, 06:37 PM

San Francisco 49ers DE Cornellius Carradine (knee) is not expected to be active for the team's Week 10 game. Carradine said he likely will not be active early on but expects to play at some point this season.

Footballguys view: The 49ers are getting healthier, which is a scary proposition for the rest of the NFC. Unless they can overtake the Seahawks, the 49ers will start the postseason on the road, but they would probably be considered the second-best team in the NFC.

49ers | Cornellius Carradine activated    Tue Oct 29, 05:23 PM

The San Francisco 49ers activated DE Cornellius Carradine (knee) from the Non-Football Injury list Tuesday, Oct. 29, and waived LB Jermaine Cunningham in a corresponding move.

Footballguys view: Carradine is a talented pass-rusher who can create pressure from the edge. He suffered a torn ACL in his right knee on a non-contact play on November, 24th 2012. Now Carradine is trying to come back from the injury and prove that he is more than just a one year wonder. Carradine can bend around the edge to get after the QB. He also has the strength to rip away from blockers and shows a good nose for the ball.
