The New York Giants announced Tuesday, Aug. 30, that they placed DL Marvin Austin (pectoral) on Injured Reserve and put WR Ramses Barden (ankle) and OL Adam Koets (knee) on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. Also, the team waived WR Duke Calhoun (hamstring).
| Footballguys view: Barden will not be able to see the field until week 7 at the earliest. The team has a three week grace period after week 6 to decide whether to activate Barden or put him on season ending Injured Reserve. He still has good upside as a developmental receiver but injuries have wrecked his pro career to this point. |

New York Giants WR Duke Calhoun made several catches in practice Monday, Aug. 8, including an acrobat juggling reception down the left sidelines. WR Darius Reynaud is also reportedly showing improvement, and he had a nice catch for a touchdown during red-zone drills.

He's got good run after the catch ability, a large wingspan, and good leaping ability to go up and catch jump passes. In week four of the preseason this year against the Patriots he had 3 catches for 76 yards and 1 touchdown. |

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports Memphis WR Duke Calhoun measured in at his Pro Day Friday, March 26, with a height of 6-foot-2 1/8, 195 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 and 4.49 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.50 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.75 seconds. He measured a 35-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-4 broad jump and completed 12 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press.
