Bengals | Joe Burrow out for the season    Fri Nov 17, 02:40 PM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (wrist) will reportedly miss the rest of the season with a torn ligament in his right wrist that will likely require surgery, according to a source. Burrow was injured in the team's Week 11 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, Nov. 16.

Footballguys view: Burrow reportedly had a brace on the wrist getting off of the bus, so there might be a flap about injury reporting rules over this. The team is saying he hurt it during the game. Regardless, the bottom will drop out of the Bengals offense as they'll have to turn to Jake Browning. The Bengals playoff hopes are likely over. The Steelers will dodge Burrow next week.

Bengals | Two TDs, two INTs for Joe Burrow    Sun Nov 12, 06:19 PM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow went 27-for-40 for 347 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions against the Houston Texans in Week 10. He also rushed for 20 yards on five carries during the game.

Footballguys view: Burrow gutted out a good fantasy game in one that he'll feel like got away from him because of a poor interception earlier and inability to score a touchdown down close late. He'll face a strong Ravens defense on Thursday, but should still be in lineups as a QB1 despite a long cod stretch in this game against an inferior defense.

Bengals | Joe Burrow will start in Week 5    Mon Oct 2, 02:46 PM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) is expected to start in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals, per sources Monday, Oct. 2.

Footballguys view: This is what happens when Jake Browning is your primary backup. Burrow is clearly not himself, and the Bengals' offense is flailing this season because of it. However, the team is still rolling with Burrow instead of shutting him down and getting him closer to full strength. The Cardinals are 1-3, but they'll be tougher to beat than some think - especially with a banged-up Burrow.

Bengals | Week 4 injury report for Cincinnati    Fri Sep 29, 02:04 PM

Cincinnati Bengals WR Charlie Jones (thumb) and TE Irv Smith Jr. (hamstring) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans. LB Akeem Davis-Gaither (knee) did not practice on Friday, Sept. 29, but is listed as questionable. CB Chidobe Awuzie (rest) also did not practice on Friday but is expected to play. QB Joe Burrow (calf) practiced in full on Friday and has been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: Burrow being removed from the injury report creates some hope that his calf injury is improving despite him playing on it and admitting it had gotten worse earlier in the season. With the soft Titans pass defense up, Burrow might actually deserve a spot in your lineup this week.

Bengals | Joe Burrow ditching calf sleeve    Thu Sep 28, 01:36 PM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) is expected to practice in full and was spotted warming up without a compression sleeve on his injured calf on Thursday, Sept. 28.

Footballguys view: Burrow keeps playing with this injury, and he doesn't look quite the same. However, he's still out there and slinging the ball around. This injury puts him more in the QB2 range than his normal top-5 QB1 range we're used to.

Bengals | Joe Burrow a full participant    Wed Sep 27, 05:48 PM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 27.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) was limited in practice for the second straight day on Saturday, Sept. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 3.

Footballguys view: We may not see Burrow in the game against the Rams on Sunday. He doesn't look right, and time off might be his best bet to get back on track this season. That means QB Jake Browning may be the Bengals starter. Downgrade your Bengals skill position players accordingly if Browning is the top guy on Monday night.

Bengals | Joe Burrow's calf will linger    Wed Sep 20, 08:50 AM

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) will not be 100 percent for some time, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Footballguys view: Once the season begins and players are taking the weekly beating of this game, nobody gets to 100 percent. Burrow is playing, but he's not been playing well, and he doesn't look like the superstar quarterback everyone knows he is. Perhaps shutting him down for a week or two would give him enough rest to get back to playing at a high level.

Bengals | Joe Burrow unsure for Week 3    Mon Sep 18, 03:33 PM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) is still in the evaluation process after aggravating his calf injury in Week 2, per sources Monday, Sept. 18.

Footballguys view: There is a chance that Burrow is shut down for a bit of time. He's not looked the same since suffering this calf injury earlier this year. In two games, he does not look like the Burrow we know and love. Let's see what his practice status is like during the week.

Bengals | Joe Burrow aggravates injury    Mon Sep 18, 10:31 AM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) said he aggravated his calf injury during the Week 2 game and will take things day-to-day leading up to Week 3.

Footballguys view: There's a chance Burrow is shut down for at least a week. He hasn't looked like himself over the last two weeks after missing most of August with this calf injury. Jake Browning would likely start for the Bengals if Burrow can't go Monday night against the Rams. That's not great for any of the skill position players on the offense. Stay tuned.

Bengals | Joe Burrow has solid outing    Sun Sep 17, 06:18 PM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow went 27-for-41 for 222 yards, two touchdowns and one interception against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2.

Footballguys view: Burrow finally at least put some points on the board, but it was a short passing struggle that did make some consistent incursions into Ravens territory in the second half. Still, this doesn't look like a dangerous passing game and the surprising Rams defense is up next. Burrow isn't even a sure thing for Week 3, as he said he aggravated his calf injury and is day-to-day.

Bengals | Joe Burrow lays egg in Week 1    Sun Sep 10, 04:10 PM

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow completed just 14-of-31 passes for 82 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, while running for minus-1 yard on his only carry. He slipped to 1-5 in his career against the Browns, one of the NFL's strangest statistical oddities.

Footballguys view: The rainy weather, a new look Jim Schwartz Cleveland defense and Burrow just looking rusty all conspired to ruin Week 1 for the Bengals. They have been a slow starting team in recent years, but the Bengals and Burrow will need to wake up against a Baltimore team that could knock them down to a 0-2 start within the division next week.
