Former St. Louis Rams WR Isaac Bruce helped out at the Chicago Bears' training camp, serving as a guest coach and working with the wide receivers and their position coach Darryl Drake, reports the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs. When asked how he could help the wideouts, Bruce said, 'No. 1 just be more confident in it. ... Just make sure they take everything that they're being taught in the meeting, bring it out on the field and be comfortable with it.'

Maiocco reports that Morgan had a great block on Adrian Wilson on a short pass to Arnaz Battle in the fourth quarter, and that Bryant McFadden barely broke up a TD pass to Morgan in the week 1 contest.

Matt Maiocco, from the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports veteran wide receiver Isaac Bruce is the only receiver on the roster who looked better than expected. Watching him daily was a treat. Certainly, at 36, he's past his prime, but he's still pretty good. He is smooth, precise and professional. He's more than a little quirky, but not in a diva-like way. He's stays to himself and does as much as he can to avoid added attention.
| Footballguys view: Bruce finished in the top 25 fantasy receivers last year, and his game hasn't fallen off much (if at all) from his 2008 performance. Even when Michael Crabtree ends his holdout, Bruce will still have fantasy value. He's good for around 50 catches, 600 yards, and 5 touchdowns this year. |
