Pittsburgh Steelers WR Lance Moore (groin) did not practice Friday, Sept. 5, and has been ruled out for Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns. It'll open up snaps for WRs Justin Brown and/or Martavis Bryant (shoulder), but Bryant is unlikely to play because of a shoulder ailment. That means Brown and WR Darrius Heyward-Bey will likely be used alongside WRs Antonio Brown and Markus Wheaton. Browns CB Joe Haden is likely to lock on to Brown for the majority of the game, meaning the other receivers could see good opportunities to make an impact.

| Footballguys view: DHB has always looked good and always played with aggressive mediocrity. There is some room for him to step up, but we don't expect it anymore this time than the last dozen or so times we were told "this is the year." Looking at that list of receivers, it's hard to imagine him cracking the lineup on a regular basis barring massive injuries. |

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Markus Wheaton, the team's third-round draft pick, might be the logical choice to replace WR Mike Wallace as the team's deep receiving threat this year. Wheaton ran a 4.5-second 40-yard dash before the draft, but he won't be able to work out with the team until he graduates from Oregon State. Fellow rookie WR Justin Brown will compete with Wheaton for playing time this year.
