Bills | John Brown plays well in Bills debut    Sun Sep 8, 05:57 PM

Buffalo Bills WR John Brown caught seven passes for 123 yards and one touchdown against the New York Jets in Week 1. He was targeted 10 times during the game.

Footballguys view: Brown's deep speed goes well with Josh Allen's big arm. His touchdown grab was on a stop route where Brown's speed had the defender worried about a big play. Instead, Brown stopped short to catch the ball than ran it into the end zone.

Bills | Andre Roberts working with first team    Tue Aug 6, 02:22 AM

Buffalo Bills WR Andre Roberts has been consistently rotated in with the first-team offense along with WRs Cole Beasley, John Brown, Robert Foster and Zay Jones. 'He's done a good job,' head coach Sean McDermott said. 'We've had some injuries there so he is very willingly stepped up and shown what he has.'

Footballguys view: Roberts is a seasoned veteran who mostly stands out with his play on special teams. He's not much of a fantasy factor with that role, but it is interesting to see him get first-team work as a wide receiver.

Bills | Four Bills WRs should be ready for camp    Sat Jul 13, 01:42 PM

Buffalo Bills WRs John Brown (personal), Cole Beasley (core), Zay Jones (undisclosed) and Robert Foster (undisclosed) all missed some offseason workouts but all four are expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Footballguys view: The Bills revamped their WR corps this offseason through the draft and free agency. Jones is the top receiver, but the pecking order behind him needs to be established. Beasley can work underneath as a slot receiver, so we'll see if Brown or Foster can win the deep threat job in 2019.

Bills | John Brown a good fit?    Sun Jul 7, 08:22 PM

Buffalo Bills WR John Brown's 'knack for gaining separation on fly routes' should fit well with QB Josh Allen's love of the deep ball, according to Nate Mendelson BuffaloBills.com.

Footballguys view: Brown had a bit of a bounce-back season in 2018 with the Ravens. He averaged a career-best 17.0 yards per catch and (most importantly) stayed healthy for a full 16-game season...something he hadn't done since his rookie year of 2014. Brown should be the favorite deep threat for Josh Allen, and he could easily outperform his current ADP of WR68 (14.10) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Bills | John Brown is favorite target of QB    Mon Jul 1, 01:45 AM

Buffalo Bills WR John Brown quickly became a frequent target of QB Josh Allen during offseason practices, and he even received an endorsement from former NFL QB Carson Palmer to be a No. 1 wide receiver.

Footballguys view: Brown is the most advanced receiver and he has the deep speed to harness Allen's arm strength. He's the Bills receiver to target in the late rounds until further notice.

Bills | John Brown a regular starter    Thu Jun 27, 09:37 PM

Buffalo Bills WR John Brown routinely worked with the first-team offense during spring practices.

Footballguys view: Brown and Robert Foster both present high weekly ceiling and low weekly floors because of Josh Allen's hot and cold nature as a passer. If they split the deep targets, this offense won't yield a wide receiver reliable enough to trust except as a desperation play. Brown is probably the one to choose if you want to take a Bills receiver late, but keep Foster on waiver wire speed dial.

Bills | Buffalo signs John Brown    Wed Mar 13, 05:32 PM

Free-agent WR John Brown (Ravens) officially signed with the Buffalo Bills Wednesday, March 13.

Footballguys view: Brown joins the Bills to be their deep threat. Second-year quarterback Josh Allen has a rocket arm and Brown has the speed to run down those deep targets.

Bills | John Brown will sign with Buffalo    Tue Mar 12, 12:45 PM

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent WR John Brown plans to sign a three-year contract with the Buffalo Bills worth $27 million, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Brown has speed to burn and that's going to be his primary role with the Bills. He's there to run by defenders deep, and Brown could get quite a few deep targets from second-year quarterback Josh Allen in 2019. Allen has a rocket for an arm, and the Bills just added a guy who could run down those deep shots.

Ravens | John Brown wants big deal    Wed Mar 6, 07:24 PM

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent WR John Brown is expected to seek $8 million to $9 million per season in his next contract, according to sources.

Footballguys view: That's quite the price tag for the speedy veteran. We think he could wind up with the Buccaneers, reunited with head coach Bruce Arians. That of course all depends on what the Bucs do with DeSean Jackson.

Browns | John Brown a fit in Cleveland?    Thu Feb 21, 09:31 PM

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent WR John Brown could be pursued by the Cleveland Browns in free agency to fill a need for a deep threat in the passing game, in the opinion of Bill Barnwell of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: Brown has the speed to get down the field in the blink of an eye. The Browns do have that on their roster with guys like Antonio Callaway, so adding Brown may not make as much sense as some think. We feel that Brown could wind up with the Bucs if they move on DeSean Jackson...plus Brown would be reunited with Bruce Arians. The two worked well together with the Cardinals years ago.

Buccaneers | Several free agents the Bucs could consider    Sat Feb 9, 08:12 PM

Houston Texans impending free-agent FS Tyrann Mathieu, Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent WR John Brown, Cincinnati Bengals impending free-agent LB Preston Brown, Arizona Cardinals impending free-agent LB Deone Bucannon, Carolina Panthers impending free-agent offensive tackle Daryl Williams and Miami Dolphins impending free-agent OT Ja'Wuan James are all names to keep an eye on for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jenna Laine. Free-agent PK Matt Bryant (Falcons) and free-agent RB Kareem Hunt (Chiefs) have already been discussed as potential targets as well.

Ravens | John Brown may not return    Fri Feb 8, 05:22 PM

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent WR John Brown probably will not re-sign with the Ravens this offseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley.

Footballguys view: We think Brown ends up with the Buccaneers and his former coach with the Cardinals, Bruce Arians. His speed would be a great asset for that team and replace DeSean Jackson (the Bucs are expected to move on from him this offseason).

Ravens | John Brown struggled with Lamar Jackson    Mon Jan 28, 07:29 PM

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent WR John Brown caught only eight passes for 114 yards and one touchdown in seven games when QB Lamar Jackson took over the starting job. Brown recorded 34 catches for 601 yards and four touchdowns in nine games with QB Joe Flacco. Brown said he is open to returning to the Ravens but would expect things to change if he re-signed.

Footballguys view: Brown will be a great sleeper in drafts with his final numbers hiding how productive he was before Jackson took over. He should be starting somewhere next season, and depending on his destination be even more productive than he was with Flacco.

Ravens | John Brown wants for deep shots    Sat Jan 26, 11:35 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR John Brown remains open to re-signing with Baltimore, but he said he would like to be in an offense that takes more shots downfield.

Footballguys view: Brown could also rejoin Bruce Arians in Tampa Bay in a move that makes a lot of sense if Desean Jackson is gone. Really Brown could fit in any offense, and teams like the Colts and Raiders could also make a run at him.
