Browns | Trent Richardson feels Jim Brown pushing him Sat Jun 30, 10:01 AM
Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson said he thinks comments made by former NFL RB Jim Brown were meant as a motivational ploy. Brown criticized the Browns for selecting Richardson in the NFL Draft, calling him an average running back. 'I've got big shoes to fill. I don't dislike Jim Brown for his comments on me. He's just pushing me to the limit,' Richardson said. 'He's going to make sure I'm going to work and make sure he can get everything he can out of me as far as me being in Cleveland.'
Footballguys view: We respectfully disagree with Jim Brown here. Richardson is a special back, and reminds us of the Vikings Adrian Peterson. Expect Richardson to perform like a low end RB1 in fantasy football. |

Browns | Owner meets with Holmgren? Wed Nov 18, 10:49 AM
Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports former NFL RB Jim Brown, who serves as the Cleveland Browns executive advisor, said Tuesday, Nov. 17, during a luncheon that owner Randy Lerner was interviewing someone who could take over as the team's head of football operations. 'At this moment, right now Randy Lerner is meeting with one of the great football minds in this country,' Brown said. 'And if things work out, that person will come in to run the football side of the Browns.' Brown would not disclose who it was. When somebody asked if it was former NFL head coach and executive Mike Holmgren, Brown responded coyly, 'You said it ... and I heard it.'
