Chiefs | LaVon Brazill, Joe Morgan worked out Sat Jan 10, 09:10 AM
Free-agent WR LaVon Brazill (Colts) and WR Joe Morgan (Saints) worked out for the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday, Jan. 8.
Footballguys view: Brazill has good speed to get down the field, but his time with the Colts was a disappointment. Morgan was always a tease with the Saints because of his size/speed combination, but he's never produced consistently. Both are only worth monitoring in super deep dynasty leagues. |

NFL | LaVon Brazill to have suspension reduced Mon Sep 15, 05:04 PM
Free-agent WR LaVon Brazill (Colts) will have his suspension reduced from 16 games to 10 games once the NFL and NFL Players Association agree to a new drug policy.
Footballguys view: Awesome. He's not much of a fantasy factor until he signs with a new team. Brazill has good speed and ball-tracking ability. |

NFL | LaVon Brazill unclaimed Mon Jul 14, 05:08 PM
Free-agent WR LaVon Brazill (Colts) was unclaimed off waivers Monday, July 14. Brazill was released by the Indianapolis Colts after being suspended at least one year for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Footballguys view: Zero surprise here. Brazill is facing a year-long suspension at least. We hope he can get his life back on track. When/if he's reinstated by the league we can't imagine teams falling all over themselves to sign him. |

Colts | LaVon Brazill waived Fri Jul 11, 03:03 PM
The Indianapolis Colts have waived WR LaVon Brazill, who was recently suspended at least one year for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Footballguys view: Brazill flashed the ability to be a downfield threat during his brief time with the Colts. We doubt if anyone adds him via waivers as Brazill is not eligible to play until 2016. The 2012 sixth-round pick will have to prove that he can stay clean before another team takes a shot on him. |

Colts | LaVon Brazill suspended Thu Jul 3, 04:32 PM
Indianapolis Colts WR LaVon Brazill has been suspended for at least one year without pay by the NFL for violating the policy and program for substances of abuse.
Footballguys view: Brazill is a repeat offender, in fact just had to deal with a four-game suspension last year. He wasn't worth worrying about offensively but was solid in special teams. Keep an eye on Da'Rick Rogers as a potential replacement though Donte Moncrief may see some extra works as the team tries to maximize their rookie pick. |

Colts | Three WRs may compete for one spot Sun Jun 1, 08:57 PM
Indianapolis Colts WRs LaVon Brazill, Da'Rick Rogers and Griff Whalen may compete for one roster spot during training camp. It appears WRs Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton, Hakeem Nicks and Donte Moncrief are locks to make the roster.
Footballguys view: The most talented player here is Rogers, but his game lacks a lot of polish. We could see Brazill make the team because of his speed and ball-tracking ability. We feel Whalen is the longest shot to make the roster. |

Colts | LaVon Brazill expects to play Thu Dec 12, 10:44 PM
Indianapolis Colts WR LaVon Brazill (foot) said he expects to play Week 15 even though his foot in a walking boot. Offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton said he also believes Brazill will be able to play in the game.
Footballguys view: Da'Rick Rogers is the better desperation play here because he is healthier and he was more productive last week. He is also the better raw talent, although Brazill is more elusive and explosive. |

Colts | T.Y. Hilton quiet in Week 14 Mon Dec 9, 06:56 PM
Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton had just two catches for seven yards while playing 45 snaps in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the last four weeks, Hilton has just 17 catches for 135 yards. Hilton had back-to-back 100-yard receiving games following WR Reggie Wayne's (knee) injury, but since then, opposing secondaries are clamping down on Hilton and giving him more double coverages. 'I'm seeing double teams. Sometimes they roll the coverage my way. It just means guys got to step up, which they did, so we're moving in the right direction. (LaVon) Brazill, DHB (Darrius Heyward-Bey) made a big play and Da'Rick (Rogers) making plays, so as long as they continue to keep doing that, we should be fine.'
Footballguys view: Someone else needs to pick up the pace to pull coverage off Hilton. Considering Brazill and Rogers don't seem to be "there" yet and Heyward-Bey has no idea where "there" is, it could be a tough close to the season. On the plus side, Houston is up next and they aren't a tough matchup. He should have value as a shaky WR3 this week. |

Colts | Da'Rick Rogers, LaVon Brazill score twice Sun Dec 8, 10:06 PM
Indianapolis Colts WRs LaVon Brazill and Da'Rick Rogers each had two receiving touchdowns in the Week 14 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals. Rogers was making his NFL debut.
Footballguys view: Both are available on waiver wires across leagues, but they are just desperation plays against the Texans. That being said, if you haven't been happy with a shot they could fill, you could do worse. At the very least, you should pick up Rogers to keep your opponent from using him against you. |

Colts | Two possibilities as kick returner Wed Nov 27, 01:08 PM
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said Wednesday, Nov. 27, that WR LaVon Brazill and RB Dan Herron are possibilities to return kicks in Week 13 following the release of WR David Reed.
Footballguys view: The Colts are going to be more than fine here. Brazill has speed and big play ability in the open field. Herron lacks the speed of Brazill, but he can make defenders miss in space. |

Colts | Da'Rick Rogers could have prominent role Tue Nov 12, 03:50 PM
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said WR Da'Rick Rogers could work himself into a prominent role in the offense for the rest of the season. 'You've got a talented football player,' Pagano said, citing Rogers' size, speed and big-play ability. 'Now we are going to give him an opportunity because he's earned it.' Rogers has apparently learned the system quickly. Rogers could push WRs Griff Whalen and LaVon Brazill for the No. 3 wideout job.
Footballguys view: Rogers has an interesting size/speed combination. Off field and maturity issues caused him to get bounced from the University of Tennessee after finishing second in the SEC in touchdowns and catches as a sophomore. He finished out his college career with Tennessee Tech and was picked up by the Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2013. |

Colts | No. 3 WR job up for grabs Mon Oct 28, 10:37 PM
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is uncertain who will step up as the team's No. 3 wide receiver behind WRs Darrius Heyward-Bey and T.Y. Hilton with WR Reggie Wayne (knee) done for the season. WRs LaVon Brazill and Griff Whalen are expected to battle for the job.
Footballguys view: Brazill is a speedster who can flat out fly down the field. His skill set closely resembles that of Hilton. Whalen is more of a savvy route runner with good concentration. He has chemistry with Andrew Luck from their days together in college at Stanford. Fantasy owners need to monitor this situation to see who comes out on top. |

Colts | LaVon Brazill added to active roster Mon Oct 7, 04:00 PM
The Indianapolis Colts have added WR LaVon Brazill to the active roster and waived DE Lawrence Guy.
Footballguys view: Brazill is a speedster who can stretch the field vertically. He had been suspended the first four games of the season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The Colts had a roster exemption for Brazill until Monday, October 7th. |

Colts | LaVon Brazill's spot not a given Tue Jul 30, 12:01 PM
Indianapolis Colts WR LaVon Brazill admitted he made a mistake in the offseason, and he now has a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy to start the season as a result. Brazill said he needs to decide between 'money and marijuana.' That isn't his only battle. He is also vying for the fourth receiver spot behind WRs Reggie Wayne, Darrius Heyward-Bey and T.Y. Hilton, so his roster spot isn't necessarily a given.
Footballguys view: Brazill is a talented downfield receiver who can get on top of the defense in a hurry with his deep speed. However, he's a bit of an odd fit in the new Pep Hamilton West Coast offense. We'll see if he can impress enough in the preseason to earn a spot on the final roster. |

Colts | LaVon Brazill update Fri Jul 5, 09:50 AM
Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts WR LaVon Brazill tested positive for marijuana.
Footballguys view: Brazill is facing a four game suspension this year because of violating the substance abuse policy. There are some who feel he is going to be released by the team before the start of the regular season. Brazill is a nice deep target but a bit of an odd fit in the new Pep Hamilton West Coast offense. |

Colts | LaVon Brazill could get cut Tue Jun 25, 08:15 AM
Indianapolis Colts WR LaVon Brazill's roster spot is in jeopardy after his four-game suspension.
Footballguys view: Brazill is a downfield target with crazy deep speed. He flashed some last year in the vertical Bruce Arians' system. However, this year the team is moving towards a West Coast offense featuring short passes. New OC Pep Hamilton was not known for utilizing deep targets during his time at Stanford. |

Colts | LaVon Brazill suspended Mon Jun 24, 04:08 PM
The NFL has suspended WR LaVon Brazill for the first four games of the regular season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Footballguys view: Brazill is a fast downfield target who flashed as a rookie for the Colts last year. The team is moving away from the vertical Bruce Arians system and will have a West Coast offense under new OC Pep Hamilton. Brazill is eligible to return in week five but it will be interesting to see how he's used in this system. The second-year WR will be able to work with the team during training camp and the preseason. |

Colts | LaVon Brazill returning punts, kicks Thu Aug 9, 12:20 PM
Indianapolis Colts WR LaVon Brazill is working as both a kick and punt returner in training camp. 'They've got me at both right now. I'm looking forward to it. Special teams is the most important thing in this organization, so I want to just make my mark as a special teams player,' Brazill said.
Footballguys view: Brazill has blazing speed and is a threat to score every time he touches the football. He's not dynamically quick but has good initial burst. |
Colts | Speed has been priority for new GM Tue Jun 12, 01:34 AM
Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson has stressed speed during his makeover of the team's roster. He signed free-agent WR Donnie Avery, who has blinding speed, and nabbed speedster WRs T.Y. Hilton and LaVon Brazill through the draft. In addition, TE Coby Fleener is a tight end in name, but he has elite speed. Free-agent CBs Cassius Vaughn and Justin King also have exceptional speed. 'At the end of the day you want people to be fast but also to play fast, and those guys play fast,' Grigson said.
Footballguys view: This approach doesn't quite match the roster makeup of the Colts AFC South foes, so if Luck is ready to pilot an NFL offense, it could pay dividends. |

Colts | Lavon Brazill agrees to terms Wed May 16, 06:12 PM
The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to terms with sixth-round draft choice WR Lavon Brazill on a four-year deal worth $2.178 million. The deal includes a signing bonus of $78,680.
Footballguys view: Brazill is a nice sleeper WR to keep an eye on in dynasty leagues. He's a fluid athlete with the footwork to change directions easily. Brazill is dangerous after the catch and not afraid to run routes over the middle. |
