Free-agent WR Dwayne Bowe (Browns) signed a one-day contract with the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday, May 16, to announce his retirement.
| Footballguys view: Bowe hadn't played in the NFL since 2015 during his one season with the Browns. His career had some highlights, including a 2010 season where he had over 1,100 yards receiving and a whopping 15 touchdowns. However, things fell apart towards the end and that's the way many may remember him. A first-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2007 NFL draft, Bowe now officially moves on to the next chapter of his life. |

He's been great since he stepped foot in this building. He really has. 'He needed to play,' Pettine explained of Bowe's lengthy play time. 'There's no substitute for live game reps. He'd taken so few snaps during training camp, now here we are on the brink of the season and want to make sure that he is as close to game shape as possible, and that's impossible to do when you're inactive.'
