Chiefs | Armon Binns suffers injury Fri Aug 7, 08:57 PM
Kansas City Chiefs WR Armon Binns (knee) suffered a knee injury during practice Friday, Aug. 7, and was carted off the field.
Footballguys view: Binns was in Miami with the Dolphins for ten games in 2012, but has yet to see another real chance. A knee injury could spell the end of his time in Kansas City. |

Chiefs | 19 signed to Reserve/Futures contracts Tue Jan 20, 04:30 PM
The Kansas City Chiefs signed TE Brandon Barden, WR Armon Binns, LB JoJo Dickson, DT Loni Fangupo, OT Curtis Feigt, LS Brandon Hartson, OG Ricky Henry, CB Aaron Hester, LS Jorgen Hus, WR Corbin Louks, CB Deji Olatoye, QB Terrelle Pryor, OG Jarrod Pughsley, WR Da'Rick Rogers, TE Adam Schiltz, OT Derek Sherrod, FB Spencer Ware, WR Fred Williams and DT Jerel Worthy to Reserve/Futures contracts Tuesday, Jan. 20.
Footballguys view: In super super deep dynasty leagues we're still holding out hope for Da'Rick Rogers. He's an incredible talent with a fantastic size/speed combination. Keep monitoring him on a WR-starved team like the Chiefs. |

Chiefs | 12 signed to Futures contracts Tue Dec 30, 07:17 PM
The Kansas City Chiefs signed TE Brandon Barden, WR Armon Binns, LB JoJo Dickson, DT Loni Fangupo, OT Curtis Feigt, OG Ricky Henry, LS Jorgen Hus, DB Deji Olatoye, OG Jarrod Pughsley, TE Adam Schiltz, RB Spencer Ware and WR Fred Williams to Reserve/Futures contracts Tuesday, Dec. 30.
Footballguys view: Binns and Ware are worth keeping an eye on here if you play in a super deep dynasty league. Binns is a big-bodied receiver with good my-ball mentality, but his lack of athleticism has held him back at that position. Ware is an instinctive running back/fullback 'tweener from LSU. He has a nose for the end zone, plus he can run over defenders with ease. |

Dolphins | Rishard Matthews leading race for No. 5 WR job Wed Aug 13, 02:52 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews appears to be the leading candidate for the No. 5 wide receiver but will have to hold off WRs Armon Binns and Damian Williams for the job.
Footballguys view: Matthews has speed and ball-tracking ability that Williams and Binns don't have. Even if Matthews makes the team, his dynasty value is quite low. |

Dolphins | Three WRs may compete for one spot Fri Jul 18, 08:40 PM
Miami Dolphins WRs Damian Williams, Armon Binns and Matt Hazel may compete for one roster spot during training camp.
Footballguys view: Binns might have the most upside here (although there's little fantasy value to be mined). He has a large frame and the wingspan to be a red-zone threat. Williams has good length and can track passes deep. Hazel is a rookie (sixth-round pick) with the ability to get open quickly on underneath routes. |

Dolphins | Several new candidates for bigger roles Sun Jul 28, 10:50 PM
The Miami Dolphins learned Sunday, July 28, that WR Armon Binns (knee) is out for the season, and WR Rishard Matthews (undisclosed) will be sidelined several weeks with an undisclosed ailment. The two were considered the favorites for the No. 4 and 5 receiver jobs. With those two on the shelf, WRs Chad Bumphis, Jasper Collins, Jeff Fuller, Marvin McNutt, Andrell Smith, Kenny Stafford and Brian Tyms all find themselves competing for a bigger piece of the pie in training camp and the preseason. Matthews could still end up being the team's No. 4 receiver unless he is forced to start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
Footballguys view: Tight end Dustin Keller is really the team's #3A wide receiver, along with Brandon Gibson. After that, the team's depth is unproven and depleted. |

Dolphins | Armon Binns out for the season Sun Jul 28, 10:07 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Armon Binns (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his knee Sunday, July 28, and he is out for the season, according to a source. Binns likely would have been the team's No. 4 receiver if he had remained healthy.
Footballguys view: Jeff Fuller and Marvin McNutt both have a shot now to be the #4 receiver and have a role on game days in the wake of this injury. 2012 seventh-round pick Rishard Matthews would have also been given a shot at this job, but he is out for at least a few weeks with an undisclosed injury. |

Dolphins | GM pleased with Rishard Matthews Wed Jul 10, 12:01 AM
Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland has been pleased with the play of WR Rishard Matthews during offseason workouts. Matthews and WR Armon Binns are believed to be heavy favorites for the No. 4 and 5 wide receiver jobs heading into training camp and the preseason.
Footballguys view: Binns has the size and strength to wrestle away contested passes from defenders but he offers little after the catch. Matthews has deceptive downfield speed and earned praise earlier this year for his standout play during OTAs. |

Dolphins | More on Armon Binns Tue Jul 2, 06:09 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Armon Binns has impressed the coaching staff since joining the team late last season. They started calling plays for him out of the slot in 2012, and he's been one of the squad's top playmakers and red-zone weapons in minicamp. Head coach Joe Philbin pointed out that Binns' 'play speed' has been his biggest difference-making quality. Binns could be used more frequently to attack the middle of the field, especially if he beats out Brandon Gibson for the No. 3 wideout job.

Dolphins | Armon Binns could push for No. 3 WR job Mon Jul 1, 05:01 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Armon Binns could push WR Brandon Gibson for the No. 3 wide receiver job during training camp.
Footballguys view: Binns has been a good practice player since coming into the league as an undrafted free agent, but he hasn't been able to make a big impact on the field. He's a big receiver with a good catch radius and "my ball" mentality, but he is not an explosive athlete. At this point, he looks like a good bet to make the Dolphins, but it's not time to pick him up in dynasty leagues just yet. |

Dolphins | HC likes big bodies in slot Sun Jun 30, 10:27 PM
Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin likes having bigger receivers in the slot, so 6-foot-0 WR Brandon Gibson and 6-foot-3 WR Armon Binns might be considered the favorites there. 'Sometimes, it's easier when you have a bigger body at times cruising through the middle,' Philbin said. 'I don't want to jinx him - I'm using the kiss of death - but (Binns) is playing faster.'
Footballguys view: Binns needs to play faster as that has been a weak spot to his game during his pro career. He's a big, physical WR with a large wingspan. Binns knows how to use his frame to box out defenders and shield opponents away from the ball. |

Dolphins | Armon Binns helped himself in offense workouts Sun Jun 30, 10:26 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Armon Binns reportedly helped his cause tremendously with strong offseason workouts. Binns dropped two passes in the team's regular season finale, and he said that drove him to be better. 'That left a bad taste in my mouth,' Binns said. 'I want to show (QB Ryan Tannehill) I can be consistent, show them who the real Armon Binns is.'
Footballguys view: Good news for Binns here. We like his large frame and wingspan which helps him gather in contested passes. Binns is not overly quick or fast and he's an interesting prospect to watch in deep dynasty leagues. |

Miami Dolphins WRs Brandon Gibson and Armon Binns are expected to compete for the No. 3 wide receiver job during offseason workouts and training camp.

Dolphins | Several in mix for receiver spots Sun Apr 28, 09:37 PM
Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland said Sunday, April 28, that he is comfortable with what the team has at the receiver position. The team sees upside in WRs Armon Binns and Rishard Matthews, who will compete with former practice squad members Jeff Fuller and Brian Tyms for the No. 4 and 5 receiver jobs. With the team expected to use two tight-end sets, the fourth receiver might play less this year.

Miami Dolphins WRs Davone Bess, Armon Binns, Rishard Matthews, Brian Tyms and Jeff Fuller are expected to compete for two or three roster spots. The team could also add a wide receiver during the 2013 NFL Draft to join the competition.

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said WR Armon Binns has been a quick learner but is not sure if Binns will be active for Week 15. The Dolphins claimed Binns off waivers earlier this week.
Footballguys view: Binns has no value in re-draft leagues, but we're interested in seeing more from him for deep dynasty league owners. He's a big target with a large wingspan and strong hands. The Dolphins need plenty of help for the future at the WR position. |

The Miami Dolphins have claimed WR Armon Binns off waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals.
Footballguys view: Binns has enough talent to consider as a developmental prospect. We like his size, big frame, wingspan and strong hands. Binns is not a quick twitch athlete but knows how to square up to the line of scrimmage and can be a good target in the red zone because of his size. |

Bengals | Mohamed Sanu a nice red zone target Wed Nov 28, 08:20 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR Mohamed Sanu has emerged as a great red zone target for QB Andy Dalton to take attention away from WR A.J. Green. Three of Sanu's four touchdowns have come with WR Andrew Hawkins (knee) out, and three of Sanu's TDs have come on third downs. Sanu has eight third down catches in his four starts. He has gone ahead of WRs Brandon Tate and Armon Binns on the depth chart. 'He's awesome in the red zone,' offensive coordinator Jay Gruden said. 'In zones he has a great feel for finding the holes and man-to-man he's got a big body (6-2, 210) where he can create separation for himself. He's everything we hoped he would be. It just took us too long a time to figure it out I guess.'

Footballguys view: Binns and Tate were competing for the WR2 job opposite A.J. Green, but it was Andrew Hawkins who made more plays. We can't trust Tate because of his long injury history, and Binns is still a raw prospect after going undrafted in 2011. |

Bengals | Could have rotation at starting WR Fri Aug 10, 02:56 PM
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton indicated WRs Brandon Tate, Armon Binns and Mohamed Sanu may rotate at the starting wide receiver spot opposite WR A.J. Green. Offensive coordinator Jay Gruden said his playing calling would be the same with whichever receiver is in the game.
Footballguys view: We've heard conflicting reports about which WR is leading the way to win the WR2 job opposite A.J. Green. Tate has the speed and moves in the open field. Binns has the wingspan, big frame, and aggressive catching mentality. Sanu is the talented rookie who plays a lot like former Bengals WR T.J. Houshamandzadeh. Bengals | Armon Binns early favorite for No. 2 WR job? Wed Aug 8, 10:03 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR Armon Binns appears to be the early favorite to win the starting wide receiver job opposite WR A.J. Green. Binns doesn't run that well, but he is similar to former Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, in that he is a capable player who knows where to go in terms of assignments.
Footballguys view: Binns has a big frame and large wingspan which helps him go up and get high passes. He's not a quick twitch athlete and not known as a precise route runner. He's competing with Brandon Tate for the team's WR2 job. Rookie Mohammed Sanu is also in the mix for that position. |

Tate dealt with hamstring problems last week but returned to practice and played in the team's scrimmage Sunday, Aug. 5, catching a touchdown. Rookie Mohamaed Sanu was listed fourth on the depth chart.
Footballguys view: If healthy Tate has a Jeremy Maclin like skill set and is dangerous after the catch. Binns has a big frame, long wing span, and knows how to use his frame to box out defenders. Sanu may begin the season as a backup but could win the WR2 job during the year. |

Cincinnati Bengals WR Armon Binns, who played his college ball at the University of Cincinnati, showed nice athleticism during offseason workouts, and was arguably the most improved player since this time last year.

Footballguys view: Injuries have prevented Tate from playing up to his potential. When he came out of college some in the scouting community compared his skill set to that of Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin. WRs Armon Binns and Brandon Tate have an upper hand in knowing the playbook, and they have looked good in early practices. WRs Mohamed Sanu and Ryan Whalen also figure to be in the mix.
