Cardinals | Berry announces retirement Thu Jan 21, 08:47 PM
Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals LB Bertrand Berry announced his retirement Thursday, Jan. 21, after 12 years in the NFL. Berry delivered the news during the weekly radio show he co-hosts. Berry said, "I've been playing football since I was 9 years old, 25 years, and with it coming to an end there is a little bit of sadness but at the same time it means there is a new beginning."
Footballguys view: Earlier in his career Bertrand Berry was in Denver, and on AM 760 The Zone with our very own Cecil Lammey. B-Train was solid on the air, and congratulations to him on a good career. This final "holla" goes out to B-Train. |

Vikings | Berrian hurts leg, questionable to return Sun Oct 25, 03:04 PM
Chip Scoggins, of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, reports that Vikings WR Bernard Berrian hurt his hamstring in the first half vs. the Steelers and has not returned to the game.
Footballguys view: Greg Lewis replaces Berrian in the lineup. Berrian has struggled with hamstring issues before so this could be a lingering problem. |

Vikings | Berrian carted off with hamstring injury Fri Aug 14, 08:41 PM
Judd Zulgad, of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, reports that Vikings WR Bernard Berrian was carted off after injuring his hamstring in the first quarter of the preseason opener vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
Footballguys view: The use of the cart implies that this could be a serious injury. Hamstring injuries are a real nightmare for a speed receiver like Berrian. This could increase Percy Harvin's deep routes and Sidney Rice's targets, in addition to the number of snaps Bobby Wade gets in the base offense. This could also slightly hurt Adrian Peterson as the deep safety always had to have one eye on Berrian. |

Cardinals | Berry's absence surprises team Thu Jun 11, 07:39 PM
Kent Somers, of the Arizona Republic, reports that the Cardinals didn't expect Bertrand Berry to skip OTAs after signing a one year, one million dollar deal. He turned down a better offer to test the market, and the Cardinals decreased the offer when Berry couldn't find another suitor.
Footballguys view: Berry is by far the best edge rusher the Cards have since they released Travis LaBoy, and they need him to get with the program, but it's not their fault that he misplayed the free agent market. |
