Rick Alonzo, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre said he is not on the same page yet with WR Bernard Berrian (hamstring) because Berrian has missed time with an injury, but Favre understands that injuries are a part of football. 'You can't make excuses; you've got to get it done. So we're way behind. He's not. I would say I'm way behind on where I need to be with him,' Favre said.
| Our view: Favre compared this situation to the same one he encountered last year when he arrived in New York. Laveranues Coles was out with a quad injury, and the two didn't work together much until week one. They weren't on the same page when the season started, but by the midway point of the year Coles and Favre were in sync. That should be the case with Berrian, as long as both players can stay healthy the chemistry should work itself out on the field. |

| Our view: Berrian could start practicing by the end of this week, but is missing out on valuable practice time with new quarterback Brett Favre. After practice Favre and Berrian work a little bit together at half speed, but it's hard to get in a rhythm at that speed. Favre is set to play the first two quarters in the Vikings upcoming preseason game against the Texans, and it would benefit Berrian greatly if he could get into the lineup. |
