Lions | Berlin signed to practice squad     Mon Sep 7, 05:21 PM

The Detroit Lions have announced they have signed unrestricted free-agent QB Brock Berlin (Rams) to their practice squad.

Footballguys view: Berlin has spent the last two years with offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and QB coach Jeff Horton in St. Louis, so he should be way ahead of the curve in learning the offense.

Rams | No. 3 QB job still up for grabs    Thu Aug 27, 11:08 AM

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Rams QB Brock Berlin and QB Keith Null continue to compete for the No. 3 quarterback job. Null may have an edge since the new coaching staff added him to the team.

Footballguys view: Remember when Brock Berlin was battling Rex Grossman for the staring job at the University of Florida? That was years ago, and now he finds himself on the roster bubble in St. Louis. The Rams have one of the weakest backup QB situations in the league. Behind the oft-injured Marc Bulger is the uninspiring Kyle Boller. Behind Boller are Berlin and Null. Needless to say the Rams will be in a lot of trouble if Bulger misses an extended period of time during the regular season.
