Free-agent PK Connor Barth (Broncos) agreed to terms with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wednesday, Aug. 26, on a two-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Broncos | Brandon McManus wins job Wed Aug 26, 10:22 AM
Denver Broncos PK Brandon McManus won the kicking job as PK Connor Barth was released Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Footballguys view: It's always possible the team could bring in another guy but for now, McManus looks like a great value as he'd been under the radar. He's a top-10 kicker for fantasy owners, and his strong leg (he hit a 70-yard field goal in practice) helps in leagues that award bonuses for distance. |

Broncos | Sign Connor Barth Tue Nov 25, 03:40 PM
The Denver Broncos signed free-agent PK Connor Barth (Buccaneers) to an undisclosed deal Tuesday, Nov. 25, after waiving PK Brandon McManus, according to a source.
Footballguys view: We're not surprised. McManus was not reliable and a team in a Super Bowl window can't have that kind of kicker on the roster. Barth was out of football last year as he recovered from an Achilles' injury, but he impressed enough during his workout to get a job. |

Buccaneers | Coach discusses kicking situation Thu Jul 18, 01:27 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano discussed how losing PK Connor Barth (Achilles') could affect the team's plans in 2013, saying Barth was a weapon with longer field goals. Schiano said he is not sure if PK Lawrence Tynes will be as effective from those distances. "I thought Connor was a weapon in the longer field goals," Schiano said. "He was exceptional over 40 yards. We'll have to play that out. I have not coached Lawrence at all. So, I couldn't tell you. I just look at the numbers. But we'll see. That'll all play itself out."
Footballguys view: The Buccaneers should consider themselves fortunate a player like Tynes was available at this time. Tynes ranked second in the league last year with 145 points scored after he went 33-of-39 on field goals in 2012. |

Buccaneers | Connor Barth out Wed Jul 17, 11:04 AM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK Connor Barth (Achilles') is out with a torn Achilles'. He's likely to miss the entire season. He'll be placed on the non-football injury list.
Footballguys view: Our Mike Herman had Barth as the #16 rated kicker before his injury. We'll see how camp shakes out but Tynes is a guy with experience. He'll likely be under the radar of owners (unlike yourself) who aren't on top of everything. |

Buccaneers | Could consider Barth for their future Mon Dec 28, 11:38 PM
Stephen F. Holder, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK Connor Barth has performed well enough this season for the team to consider keeping him beyond the 2009 season. Head coach Raheem Morris said, "All he's done is come in here and make field goals for us and, really, be consistent. I know he missed a couple. But for the most part, he's been banging them." Morris added, "It's nice to see him grow up and mature and do things well. You definitely have to take him into consideration for the future. He's a young kicker with a strong leg."
Footballguys view: Barth hit the game-winner in overtime vs. the Saints, so he could be heading into the offseason with a lot of good momentum. |
