Broncos | Brandon Marshall slowly healing    Tue Mar 24, 09:23 PM

Denver Broncos LB Brandon M. Marshall (foot) is still recovering from a Lisfranc sprain in his right foot, and he might not be available until the start of training camp. LBs Lamin Barrow, Todd Davis, Steven Johnson, Corey Nelson and Reggie Walker will see plenty of time during the offseason program with Marshall on the shelf.

Footballguys view: Marshall was a standout player for the Broncos last year, but he did get a little banged up. This year, in the new 3-4 defense, Marshall will be counted on to lead the team in tackles from the ILB (SAM) position.

Broncos | Danny Trevathan still recovering    Tue Mar 24, 09:21 PM

Denver Broncos LB Danny Trevathan (knee) continues to recover from two fractures in his left knee. He might not be available until training camp. LBs Lamin Barrow, Todd Davis, Steven Johnson, Corey Nelson and Reggie Walker will see plenty of time during the offseason program with Trevathan on the mend.

Footballguys view: The multiple knee injuries are a concern for Trevathan. He'll play ILB (BOW) this year for the Broncos, and Trevathan will be facing a lot of traffic in the team's new 3-4 defense. He'll need to stay healthy this year.

Broncos | Lamin Barrow may practice Tuesday    Mon Aug 18, 06:53 PM

Denver Broncos LB Lamin Barrow (leg) suffered a bruised leg during the second preseason game but may be able to practice on a limited basis Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Footballguys view: The Broncos dodge a bullet here. When the injury happened against the 49ers, it looked much more severe than just a bruise. Barrow is a talented rookie who can excel in coverage. He's competing with Brandon Marshall to be the weak-side linebacker while Danny Trevathan is out.

Broncos | Brandon Marshall primed to replace Danny Trevathan    Thu Aug 14, 01:10 PM

Denver Broncos LB Brandon M. Marshall is very confident that he can fill in for LB Danny Trevathan (knee) at the weakside linebacker spot. Marshall is expected to line up with the starters on defense in practice Thursday, Aug. 14. He'll be first in line to replace Trevathan, with LBs Lamin Barrow and Corey Nelson next in line. Marshall was promoted to the active roster last year when LB Von Miller went down with an injury. When the Broncos have lined up the second-team nickel package, it's been Barrow and Marshall at the two linebacker spots.

Footballguys view: TJ Ward is still the Denver IDP who stands to gain the most from the Trevathan injury. Marshall is only worth picking up in the deepest of IDP leagues, but it could get a good rise out of your leagues when they see Brandon Marshall was added on the waiver wire.

Broncos | Lamin Barrow to compete    Sun Jun 15, 04:21 PM

Denver Broncos LB Lamin Barrow will compete for the starting middle linebacker spot in camp. LB Nate Irving is atop the depth chart for now.

Footballguys view: Barrow is a new-look middle linebacker. He's not a thumper as a run-defender, but he's an outstanding athlete who can cover move tight ends. We'll see if he can earn some playing time (and perhaps the starting MIKE job) during this year.

Broncos | Lamin Barrow signs    Tue Jun 3, 12:39 PM

The Denver Broncos signed LB Lamin Barrow, their fifth-round draft pick, to his rookie deal Tuesday, June 3. Per NFL rules, all draft-pick signings are for four years in length. Financial terms weren't given.

Footballguys view: Barrow is set to compete inside at middle linebacker. He can play weak-side linebacker because of his coverage ability, but he has been practicing primarily inside during the team's minicamp. He can cover, but Barrow struggles as a thumper against the run. The former is more important than the latter in today's NFL.
