Jaguars | Trim roster Mon Aug 25, 11:08 PM
The Jacksonville Jaguars released CB Michael Harris, WR Ramses Barden, LB Allen Bradford, OG Antoine Caldwell, LB Josh Hull, RB Harvey Unga, SS Joseph Young and C Patrick Lewis Monday, Aug. 25. The team also waived LS Charley Hughlett and WR Kenny Shaw, and DT David Carter (knee) was waived with a waived/injured designation.
Footballguys view: Barden has bounced around now after not living up to his size/athleticism combination and third-round pick status. If he can't catch on in Jacksonville's young and injured WR corps, then he is probably on his way out of the league for good. |

Jaguars | Will add Ramses Barden Wed Aug 6, 02:22 PM
The Jacksonville Jaguars will sign free-agent WR Ramses Barden (Bills).
Footballguys view: Barden is a camp body for the Jaguars. The team has been decimated by injury at the wide receiver position during camp. Barden failed to make an impression with the Giants earlier in his pro career, and he's a longshot to make the final roster. |

Bills | Two signed, two cut Mon Jul 21, 12:34 PM
The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent WR Naaman Roosevelt (Lions) and DT Landon Cohen (Bears) to undisclosed deals. The team released WR Ramses Barden and LB Nathan Williams.
Footballguys view: Barden's days in the NFL are likely over. He was an intriguing third-round pick by the Giants in 2009, but his size and wingspan never helped him at the pro level. Barden lacks the explosiveness and "my ball" mentality to stick around in the NFL. |

Bills | Ramses Barden signs Thu Jan 16, 06:41 PM
The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent WR Ramses Barden (Giants) to an undisclosed deal Thursday, Jan. 16.
Footballguys view: Barden has the physical talent and size but never seems to be able to execute. His big body should allow him to block out defensive backs but he never seemed to be able to learn to do it. It's a crowded house in Buffalo, so Barden may struggled to find a role. |

Footballguys view: Cruz should be ok for the season opener. It sounds like he is on crutches and in a boot to aid healing, not because he has a serious injury. He's still worth a pick in the 4th, if not third round of PPR leagues. |

Giants | WR race loses one combatant Sun Aug 11, 09:21 PM
New York Giants WRs Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, Rueben Randle, Louis Murphy and Jerrel Jernigan are expected to be the team's top five wideouts. After that, there is a battle between Ramses Barden, Keith Carlos, Kevin X. Hardy and Julian Talley for the sixth receiver job, if the team elects to keep that many. Giants | Rueben Randle ready for bigger role Wed Jul 24, 12:53 PM
New York Giants WR Rueben Randle turned heads during the offseason program, and he is ready for a bigger role in the offense behind WRs Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks. However, Randle is not locked into the third receiver job yet, as he needs to hold off WRs Ramses Barden, Jerrel Jernigan and Louis Murphy, among others.
Footballguys view: Randle is talented and has a nice mixture of size and speed. He was raw coming out of LSU but has the upside to be a quality starter and impact player for the Giants. The Giants may rely on him more than some think if Hakeem Nicks battles with injury once again this year. |

Giants | Ramses Barden re-signs Thu May 23, 01:17 PM
The New York Giants re-signed WR Ramses Barden to an undisclosed deal Thursday, May 23.

Free-agent WR Ramses Barden (Giants) will be in the New York area Thursday, May 23, and he will take a physical for team doctors of the New York Giants.
Footballguys view: Barden has failed to develop his raw game. He came out of Cal Poly in 2009 and needed to become a better route runner and improve his concentration. Barden still struggles to get open and will drop easy passes. We'll see if the Giants bring him back in 2013. |

Jets | Interested in two WRs Wed May 8, 07:54 PM
The New York Jets have expressed interest in free-agent WR Braylon Edwards (Jets) and WR Ramses Barden (Giants).
Footballguys view: Edwards could always stay with the Jets. He has good chemistry with QB Mark Sanchez and can be a reliable veteran target. Edwards re-joined the Jets last year after the Seahawks let him go in December. In three games (all starts) he compiled 10 catches for 125 yards. |

Giants | Still an option for Ramses Barden Mon Mar 18, 08:37 PM
Free-agent WR Ramses Barden (Giants) said last month that 'it's probably best' to move on from the New York Giants, but now it appears it is an option for him to return to the team.
Footballguys view: The open market wasn't white hot for the services of Barden. He's a big WR who has never developed his pro game after coming out of Cal Poly as a very raw prospect him 2009. |

Panthers | May pursue Ramses Barden Sun Mar 3, 01:53 PM
The Carolina Panthers may look to sign New York Giants impending free-agent WR Ramses Barden this offseason because he could be productive in the team's vertical passing game.
Footballguys view: Barden was extremely raw when he came out of Cal Poly in 2009. He's never played up to his potential but has flashed ability in limited playing time with the Giants. He could flourish if used the right way. He's not a polished route runner but can be used as a downfield and red zone target because of his size and wingspan. |

New York Giants impending free-agent WR Ramses Barden said it would 'probably be best' to play elsewhere next season.

Giants | Jerrel Jernigan might get chance Thu Feb 7, 12:32 AM
The New York Giants are looking for a consistent third receiver behind restricted free-agent WR Victor Cruz and oft-injured WR Hakeem Nicks. WRs Ramses Barden and Domenik Hixon are each impending free agents, which leaves WR Jerrel Jernigan to battle WR Rueben Randle for the third receiver job. Jernigan and Randle are both expected to show growth during the offseason.
Footballguys view: Jernigan has the skill set to be a solid third WR. He's quick in and out of his breaks and has the moves in the open field to be dangerous after the catch. |

New York Giants impending free-agent WR Ramses Barden said he hopes to re-sign with the team this offseason. He said he would like for him and his agent to sit down with the Giants management and work out an agreement.
Footballguys view: Barden has never developed like many thought he would. Coming out of Cal-Poly his game was raw but the size and wingspan made him an intriguing developmental prospect. Injuries and inconsistencies have held him back and his overall upside may just not be that high. |

Footballguys view: Interesting move by the Giants here. With Hakeem Nicks already out for the game against the Browns there could be an opportunity for Barden to do more as the team's third WR. If he misses the game the Giants will turn to talented rookie WR Rueben Randle behind starters Domenik Hixon and Victor Cruz. |

Footballguys view: The Giants will start Victor Cruz and Domenik Hixon since Nicks can't play. Randle is a talented rookie WR but his skill set is raw. If he develops there are some in the scouting community who feel he has Vincent Jackson-like upside. |

Footballguys view: Nicks missed the game but Hixon returned to the lineup. He's an aggressive catcher who knows how to get open. Once he catches a pass Hixon is also dangerous after the catch. |

Giants | Andre Brown, Ramses Barden could have bigger roles Sat Sep 22, 07:39 AM
New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said RB Andre Brown and WR Ramses Barden could earn bigger roles in the offense, even when RB Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) and WR Hakeem Nicks (foot) return from their injuries. 'I think there's a place for everybody,' Coughlin said. 'It's a long stretch. That's being proven right now ... in the third game of the year.'
Footballguys view: Barden may be the "Kevin Ogletree" of week three. He's a darling on the waiver wire but when Hakeem Nicks is back in the lineup then Barden will have a reserve role. Just like Ogletree in week one, Barden may have had his best week of the year during his breakout week three performance. |

Giants | Ramses Barden has big game Fri Sep 21, 02:04 PM
New York Giants WR Ramses Barden caught nine passes for 138 yards in the team's Week 3 win over the Carolina Panthers Thursday, Sept. 20. He averaged 15.3 yards per catch.
Footballguys view: Barden's game resembled Kevin Ogletree's in week 1. The Panthers defenses could not cinch up the space between the linebackers and secondary that he kept occupying, so Eli Manning kept going to Barden. Hakeem Nicks should be back next week, but Barden is worth carrying in deep leagues on the chance that he gets another opportunity to start this year. The Giants will have to consider moving him ahead of Domenik Hixon on the depth chart now. |

Footballguys view: We can't forget about rookie WR Rueben Randle here. Randle is the most talented of the backup WRs behind Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. We expect him to eventually win the WR3 job. Giants | Ramses Barden may be longshot for No. 3 WR job Fri Jun 22, 02:55 PM
New York Giants WR Ramses Barden may be considered a longshot for the No. 3 wide receiver job during training camp because offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride did not mention his name when talking about the receivers during offseason workouts. Barden does believe he got more comfortable with the offense this offseason since he was able to participate in the workouts.
Footballguys view: Barden was extremely raw coming out of Cal Poly but injuries have prevented him from developing his skill set much as a pro. He could be on the roster bubble if he doesn't start to show better when he gets an opportunity. We like rookie Rueben Randle as the favorite to land the WR3 job behind Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. |
