Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers have released PK Piotr Czech, OT Jeremy Parquet, DT Steve McLendon, TE Dezmond Sherrod, CB Roy Lewis, LB Andy Shantz, LB Tom Korte, WR Dallas Baker, WR Tyler Grisham and WR Brandon M. Williams.

The Associated Press reports Pittsburgh Steelers DT Scott Paxson (concussion), WR Dallas Baker (hip) and WR Tyler Grisham (shoulder) all left the team's preseason finale Thursday, Sept. 3, with injuries.

Steelers | Sweed could be No. 3 receiver Wed Aug 5, 12:29 AM
Ed Bouchette, of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports if for no other reason than process of elimination, he believes WR Limas Sweed will be the Pittsburgh Steelers No. 3 receiver this year. Bouchette said he does not believe WR Shawn McDonald is physical enough and WR Mike Wallace may not have the experience despite having speed. He notes WR Dallas Baker is a wildcard in the competition.
