Redskins | WR Robinson anxious to show off speed    Tue May 8, 03:15 PM

John Keim, from the Washington Examiner, reports second-year WR Aldrick Robinson is anxious to show off his speed in training camp this year. "That's my main attribute. That's the one thing that puts me above others, now that I know the offense and I'm comfortable with it I can show my speed, get in and out of breaks and catch the ball." Robinson said.

Footballguys view: Robinson is going to have to standout as a Kick/Punt Returner as the Redskins WR corps is jam packed. He'll compete with guys like Terrence Austin and Brandon Banks for the final spot at the WR position.

Redskins | David Anderson might be used in the slot    Wed Nov 16, 09:52 PM

Washington Redskins WR David Anderson might be used at the slot receiver, ahead of WR Terrence Austin, due to his experience. 'Knowledge of defenses and just a knack to find open spots,' Anderson said, of what makes a good slot receiver. 'As a receiver you either win vs. man or you sell cars. You have to win vs. man because that's what's gonna happen in the slot. And you have to have more spatial awareness inside.'

Redskins | Jabar Gaffney leads team's WRs    Sun Oct 16, 07:00 PM

Washington Redskins WR Jabar Gaffney had two receptions for 55 yards in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles, leading the team's wideouts. He also had a WR-best 10 targets on the afternoon. Reserve WRs Terrence Austin had one catch for 32 yards, while Donte' Stallworth managed 30 yards on three grabs.

Footballguys view: Gaffney has a chance to have value if John Beck can breathe life into the pass offense, but he is still probably barely rosterable right now.

Redskins | Jabar Gaffney targeted six times    Tue Sep 27, 12:45 AM

Washington Redskins WR Jabar Gaffney was second on the team in targets in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys with six. He had five catches for 60 yards. He and WR Santana Moss were the only wide receivers with catches. WR Terrence Austin was targeted four times, but he had no catches. WR Anthony Armstrong also played, but wasn't even targeted once.

Footballguys view: Gaffney did fail to get out of bounds on one late catch and didn't make any splashy plays. He likely got more targets because Anthony Armstrong left the game with an injury.

Redskins | Two WRs expected to keep roster spot    Wed May 4, 12:47 PM

Washington Redskins WRs Malcolm Kelly and Terrence Austin are expected to have to compete to keep their spots on the roster.

Footballguys view: The Redskins added three more wide receivers to their team in the 2011 NFL Draft, and both Leonard Hankerson, Niles Paul, and Aldrick Robinson should easily make the team. Kelly had good upside when he came out of Oklahoma but injuries and inconsistencies have plagued his pro career. Austin may stick around in Washington because of his ability as a slot receiver and return man.
