Broncos | Open to re-signing Arrington at some point    Thu May 28, 07:07 PM

Frank Schwab, of the Colorado Springs Gazette, reports Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels said the team would be open to re-signing unrestricted free-agent RB J.J. Arrington (knee) at some point.

Our view: Knowshon Moreno should be the Broncos receiving back as many people aren't expecting much from Darius Walker. Denver wants to run more in 2009, to help out their new QB and to also help out their rebuilt defense.

Broncos | Arrington needs microfracture surgery    Thu May 28, 09:56 AM

Mike Klis, of The Denver Post, reports free-agent RB J.J. Arrington (knee), who was just released by the Denver Broncos, will need season-ending microfracture surgery on his right knee.

Our view: He has not been able to regain strength in his knee after undergoing offseason arthroscopic knee surgery. Also, Peter King is reporting that the Broncos are only on the hook for $100k of Arrington's $1.8 million dollar signing bonus.

Lindsay H. Jones, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos RB J.J. Arrington (knee) was released from the team Wednesday, May 27, after failing his physical.

Our view: Arrington underwent knee surgery this offseason and had been unable to participate in the team's OTAs.

Broncos | Release RB J.J. Arrington    Wed May 27, 08:34 PM

The Broncos today released running back J.J. Arrington after Arrington failed his physical. Arrington, who signed with the team as a free agent from Arizona in March, had knee surgery after the Super Bowl and had been unable to participate so far in the Broncos' organized team activities. Arrington was one of three free-agent tailbacks signed by the Broncos, and the team also drafted running back Knowshon Moreno with its top pick in the draft.

Our view: Listeners to our podcast "The Audible" heard Broncos beat writer Frank Schwab speculate about this 3 weeks ago when the team signed free agent Darius Walker. Schwab indicated that the Broncos may be concerned about Arrington's knee and that's why they signed the former Golden Domer Walker. Listening to our show "The Audible" is just another way that Footballguys.com can give you the edge in your fantasy leagues.

Broncos | Arrington could become third-down specialist    Fri May 1, 01:22 PM

Mike Klis, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos RB J.J. Arrington (knee) could be the team's third-down specialist if he completely recovers from knee surgery.

Our view: This was the image that many had for Arrington when he was signed by Denver. It would be CBuck between the 20's, LaMont Jordan in the red zone, and Arrington on 3rd downs. Head Coach Josh McDaniels has gone out of his way to compliment rookie 1st round draft pick Knowshon Moreno on his pass protection and receiving ability. This calls into question every RBs role in the offense.
