Bears | 12 players let go    Sat Aug 31, 09:24 PM

The Chicago Bears have released RB Armando Allen, OG Derek Dennis, LB J.T. Thomas, WR Terrence Toliver, OT Cory Brandon, DT Corvey Irvin, DT Christian Tupou, LS Brandon Hartson, CB Demontre Hurst, TE Fendi Onobun, RB Harvey Unga and DE Aston Whiteside.

Footballguys view: Allen and Unga lose out on a backup RB role with the Bears. Fantasy owners need to remember the name Michael Ford as he's now the RB3 in Chicago behind Matt Forte and Michael Bush. The rookie from LSU is a talented runner who loves to punish defenders.

Bears | Michael Ford shines in preseason game    Fri Aug 16, 12:29 PM

Chicago Bears RB Michael Ford could provide some competition for WR Devin Hester as the team's return man after breaking three tackle on a 100-yard kickoff return. Ford could also make the team as the third running back with RB Armando Allen (hamstring) dealing with a hamstring issue.

Footballguys view: Ford is another LSU RB to monitor in deep dynasty leagues. We like Spencer Ware (Seahawks) as well and see both as natural runners with vision, balance, and burst. At LSU Ware and Ford were part of a RBBC and split time with Jeremy Hill (Fr.) and Kenny Hilliard (So.).

Bears | Spread out RB workload in Week 9     Mon Nov 5, 10:56 AM

Bears | Hopeful Matt Forte will play in Week 4     Mon Sep 24, 12:34 PM

Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said the team is 'hopeful' RB Matt Forte (ankle) will play in the team's Week 4 game Monday, Oct. 1. 'He made a lot of progress last week, and we have an extra day also so that should help,' Smith said. 'We're just hopeful that he'll be able to go. If not, our running backs, not only Michael Bush, but Kahlil Bell and Armando Allen all did a good job. But we hope we'll get our stud running back back.'

Footballguys view: When Forte does return to the lineup it won't completely crush the fantasy value of Michael Bush. We'll still see the Bears use Bush as a goalline back and short-yardage runner. He goes from a RB2 option to a flex option upon the return of Forte.

Chicago Bears RBs Armando Allen and Lorenzo Booker are competing for the No. 3 running back job. Head coach Lovie Smith believes both running backs could be complements to RBs Matt Forte and Michael Bush.

Footballguys view: Kahlil Bell being cut was a surprise after his performance late last year, but Booker is better as a receiver and returner and Allen could be an elusive change of pace back.
